I love this, but here I go, I am going to allow myself to be vulnerable. I live in deep red state South Carolina, I am a black woman, business owner of my own medical clinic, entrepreneur, wrote four failed novels, and my business is falling apart. I am highly educated with my Doctoral Degree as a Nurse Practitioner. I mentor young black women, I help others, and I do all of this without anyone that I can go to. I tried to start my own group similar to this years ago of black women... Just sisters helping sisters, and I couldn't get anyone to bite. I never found my tribe. I am sitting here watching my tribe on this podcast that I wish I could be a part of... the oppression here in South Carolina is killing me, and yes... I am tired. This is amazing guys! Keep it up!
Thank you for allowing yourself to feel vulnerable… I’m not in the health care industry, and don’t have resources here (which let’s me know I need to work on my network in this area) but I wish I knew a way to help you.. in the meantime I’ll offer prayer. I would recommend reaching out to NLP team, perhaps they have resources that could help you as health care is a major issue in this country especially for black and brown people..
I understand! I feel more of a needs now then I did a a younger me!
My sister hang in there you are a blessing to the community. Maybe focusing reaching out to the sororities. I know your time is short maybe learn how to implement AI for marketing. Or come to Atlanta we will support.
I understand what you are feeling , but never give up. Keep pushing. Our future depends on it
I know my inexperience is showing, but can SBA, setting up GoFundMe, or contacting Dr. Lisa Green of Family Christian Health Center (Harvey, IL) for advice to be helpful?
They pick Charlemagne your guy to represent us and he DOESN'T represent me. He is completely ignorant to the issues.
If THEY did the picking, that is not the one.
I love the Native Pod, unfortunately it was Charlemagne that came up with the idea for the Native Pod.
Doesn't matter how we got here. We are here. And this podcast is necessary. I don't have to like the PERSON to believe in the work that he is doing to elevate Black voices outside of his personal point of view. We have to see the bigger picture and not villianize people based upon personal ideology. He may not speak for us, but his work to elevate these platforms is necessary.
@@TheSocratease and
I believe Charlemagne was trying to do the right thing but he did not do his homework. He had people on the show telling blatant lies and he is not equipped to counter their points. He really did a disservice to our community and he does not speak for me either.
Good job Angela on the Mosely case!
I agree.. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I wanted to go to Baltimore but couldn't make it, glad to see that the sentence was better than expected.. way to go Angela and those who worked to get it over the line.
Now, we need the President to PARDON Marilyn.
Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Tell them Bevy! BLK women speak to each other … we all we got!
We need to stop with the clicks
Ms Bevy we are our worst enemy. I am someone who always smiles and says hello to everyone but black women let me stop at that.
Say it Bevy! I know for a fact one of those women who got on the mic does not speak and does not support others in the way that they claim
Vote OUT💎 JUDGES who are PROSECUTING & THREATENING our BLACK WOMEN PROSECUTORS💎FLIP POWER at the BENCH
A blk male in hip hop who always one in that sector
As a black man I would love to see this conversation take place with black men and maybe get rep.Hakeem Jeffries and rep. Corey Booker and Mr Gillum to discuss why black men need to vote and why voting dem is important
Not this black man Couch 2024
Vote for our interests. These parties do nothing for us.
@@bgbgbgbg7353 I just would love to see black men have these types of conversations and meetings, it's like the only time we do is church conferences or sitting around with our friends that offer no new perspectives
@bgbgbgbg7353 you're ignorant if you'd not vote and possibly enable Trump to get back in.
@owtsideperspective3588
Trump 2024.
Thanks Angela for your advocacy for Marilyn Mosby💕
THIS POD WAS POWERFUL AND A WEALTH OF INSPIRATION!!!! ✊🏿
It so beautiful and inspiring.
Don't forget that there are Black male authors just like Black women authors, we all need each other.
Amen.
Exactly every time I hear about a black author, if I have the money I will get the book or add the book title and the author name in my calendar for next time I have money.
It's not our time bruh
❤❤
They are afraid of us !
Shout to Angela Rye on the Mosley case🎉
Correction Marilyn Mosby great job Angela Rye
Andrew Gillum, I love you "You should have known better" is an inside family conversation.
Black Men, it’s past time for us to engage and step up. NOBODY IS COMING TO SAVE US BUT US!
The fact that we thought someone would has us where we are! We still in the "waiting room"
💙
It saddens me that many black men are not interested. Some black people are held back waiting for reparations and are no elevating themselves. I commend you for knowing it's past time to get involved. Trump is taking advantage of vulnerability in our communities.
@@amywilliamson1979you cant be serious. The only people waiting Is the black people waiting for democratic party to save them.
have you guys noticed? Not one African-American Official elected, official or spokesperson in a leadership role had has said anything important about how African-Americans are being forced out of the job markets? DEI program or any other program that has been under attacked by any Republican group? When it comes to voting? When it comes to education or denial of such? No healthcare? Or any other endeavor that may propel our group of people to the forefront of American Society oh, I forgot also, with all of these people quiet under the Joe Biden administration it is amazing that the legacy group the urban league , N a aCP hasn't said a word about anything. They've been mute for the past few years they haven't put up a fight on any major issue affecting black folk. Such as under Joe Biden another 10 to 13,000,000 migrants take a resources away from us
Thanks Angela for your strong, well deserved, beautiful and tireless advocacy for Attorney Marilyn Mosley.
I totally agree Angela. Stop advertising what you are doing. Just do it. Our ancestors created the Underground Railroad. Use it. Privacy
If we are aggregiously being attacked this way, it's so very CLEAR and EVIDENT, we are a threat in more positive ways than not. This is VERY DEEP!!!!
You don’t have to advertise just do it others will notice
I felt like Angela took the words right out of my mouth.
Tiff is a movement and if I must be honest, I cannot bring myself to watch MSNBC anymore I try to watch Joy Reid, (I forget to watch her sometimes) but I will listen to her show, my Saturdays are blahhhhhh these days and I need that black commentary to wrap up the news when it relates to our community and how we need to feel about it.
I watched Tiffany's show every Saturday. I hated that they let her go, however, I still watch MSNBC, Joy Reid, and everyone else on that channel. The channel is informative and the guest on the show normally pull no punches. Unlike CNN, they don't feature a bunch of Republicans like Scott Jennings who constantly spews lies. MSNBC does feature Republicans and former Republicans who give different points of view, but not bald face lies.
Angela is right, I always cringe when we tell all our business, where we are what we are doing etc. We can be vague about it and still be great about it.
They are not telling there business. You don't even know the investors or the boards of these new business. They formed with no mass media presence
I’m glad Black women are finally opening their eyes and their mouths about the state of our community- specifically our women and how alone, unprotected, overwhelmed, and vulnerable we are in general. I felt this but we need our men to step up and unite with us.
Angela Rye’s hair is beautiful! Also, she loves the denim!
fake
What does her hair have to do with the conversations that's taking place? Really!!!
@@kaizer2312 Nothing. Just an observation.
@@MistyBurr I thought that was her natural hair. She doesn’t strike me as someone who would wear a weave.
This platform is so excellent! Thank you for educating and lifting us up each week .
Excellent show Tiff, Angela and Andrew. Please consider doing a podcast/ panel discussion that addresses (1) What's up Black Man? and (2) Building Generational Wealth.
Building generational wealth, yes but can we start with how can I pay my student loan and buy a home?
This was very powerful! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉.
Welcome Home‼️ This is such a necessary conversation. 🖤🖤🖤✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
I cried listening to this podcast. I'm so proud of the black women who shared their perspectives and shed light on how we can support each other to strengthen our communities. Tiffany, Andrew, and Angela, you're truly shining stars for our community
Enjoyed this, we need more of this kind of encouragement ❤❤
And, here we go again, another MASTER CLASS!!! I just love the trio - Angela, Tiffany and Andrew.👏
Vote Joe Biden Democrat 2024
Please vote Democrat 🗳
Amen
Andrew how we missed you. How glad we are to be back in communion with you.
This was such a dope episode. I struggle with connecting with people, so I LOVE Bevy's suggestion to bring people in!
Yes, glad you all is covering this topic. MTG, however is re-elected. Lets discuss ways to make sure she isn't!
MTG is from Rome, GA. When I tell you that they are IGNORANT and RACIST up there, that’s putting it mildly. She truly represents her district.
Exactly, @MissJanineJoy. That is exactly who her constituents are. They are the only ones who can change.
@@missjaninejoy I believe it’s the 14th district, yes?
white oppressor dems
@missjaninejoy Yeah, knew of a black vet from there who often talked about the "trailer park" essence and how bad for poc's it is!
Another great episode of your podcast! Well done! We have to do what we need to do to support this podcast. Who else, besides Roland Martin, is being this real about issues that affect our community.
Tiff talking about the *conditioning* we have as Black people is so real! I didn't grow up hurting for a thing but (and because) my parents did, we were raised not to waste anything because you never know when the tide may turn & you're doing without. I buy toiletries & cleaning supplies in bulk and STILL make sure I get every drop of toothpaste, lotion, Listerine, Dawn, deodorant, Clorox, etc., before I think it's time to take another one out.
I've always kept my ducks in a row; paid all my bills on time, kept licenses & insurance because I've been *conditioned* to always be prepared to be pulled over, questioned, accused & having to defend myself in some way. "Those people" always expect us to be out here dirty, sorry & ignorant like some marks & I love being able to disappoint them by not giving them that ammunition.
Hey TR, I have lived my life like you. This is how I was able to raise 3 kids as a single parent.
We need to bring others along to understand this
@trmartinez6821 you're on point with this comment, b/c my mom, single parent, was able to give me all she could and then some, and it was enough to get me going in a positive direction in my community, have a home, build a strong family, pay my bills (on time), and navigate through life's storms. This can be done, if we want better. That's the issue. Not many want better for themselves. 😐
Presidential pardon for Marilyn Mosby 🤎
I really enjoyed the audience interaction! As always a great episode!!
I see our Brother Andrew is getting ready to run for Governor again! I see you, and I hear you, Mr. Andrew.😉😉
He not going to win
We love that brother! Loooove!
Loved this 1st live town hall event for N.L. Pod. Great job! Excellent B6 remix to kick off the video stream. 10 toes down for the ultimate lion: Rep. Jasmine Crockett. From my own experience as a black, immigrant female, Texas is true to its "LONE-star" state title. Lions often stand aLONE. Solution: let's link arms with those who want to link arms - regardless of their background or country of origin. Sadly, black immigrants are often otherized by black Americans, and the reverse is regrettably true. Black Americans are often demeaned by Afro-immigrants Yet, the attacks and systemic biases are launched at ALL of us as blacks. Let's UNITE to combat injustices and secure thriving futures.
But its also the other way around, because the come here with the white ideology of how blk americans are with judgmental attitudes and discriminations.
@2morrowICU
She said thst. Read the comment again, this time slowly. I know, we get excited sometimes. 😘
@@TheSocratease trying to insult doesn't make your argument any more seriously,GTF2H,B!
Exactly Fani will bounce back even stronger.
This is empowering! "So I'm gonna stand up, take my people with me. Together, we are going to a brand new home." It's good to be home ya'll!
That vulnerability conversation hit so hard!
This is how this show should be from now on…like an open forum or town hall meeting. It’s much more effective and engaging.
Yes I will be glad when yall get to Chicago!
I like a mix of both, especially as we get closer to elections. Y’all should host a debate or debates!!
it's very costly and pods cast are very budget friendly.
I hate that Angela giving the strategy of covert operation Was glossed over so quickly. That was such a major key! One We as a community need to implement immediately and make a major overhaul of a lot of things we do. We talk too much and we give our enemies our own game plan.
Yall B bout dat Business and I'm Loving it. Blessings 🙌 ❤❤❤
Best Conference Ever!!!🎉
Love seeing intelligent folks in conversation!
Love Angela she so real
Awesome!! Very Powerful Conversation.
This convo was so very important. I absolutely love being here. NLP is my jam! I love you Brittney ❤
Wow! Wow! WOW! This episode was so POWERFUL! So full of information and sisterhood and community. I salute Ms. Bevy Smith and Ms. Luvvie Ajayi Jones for their honesty and vulnerability in addressing us and how we are afraid of each other, without real cause. I believe there is enough for all of us to share in the pie.
Wonderful podcast keep speaking truth to power ❤️❤️
Black folk tell too much of our business in public! Shid, hell yeah they can figure you out! Geez
Luv Miss Bev Smith's comment
OMG. This is the best episode of NLP I've seen to date. Your three personalities are so BIG and fill that large room. That same dynamic seems to get lost in the tiny room at iHeart or on a Zoom call. I'm not sure what needs to happen to repeat this level of excellence. Your three personalities seem to "riff" better, like musicians, with the addition of the comments from such an informed audience. Just a few thoughts from an observer. So, so powerful and great job.
I'm not even in the room, and I can feel the love and the authenticity.
This conversation is truly, truly amazing! ❤ So much love and respect.
Fantastic Show!!! TRUTH is POWER!!!! Vote to SAVE DEMOCRACY!!!
🥰✝️😇🙏🏾
Thank you to all the wonderful hosts.
Whew we need you three! Thank you ❤
Angela in the beginning you said that we don’t need to let everyone know our next move! You are 100% right I think one of the reasons why we got as far as we got during reconstruction was because we were hidden because we had no other choice. I think the game of America now is making us think it’s cool to present black so that they can quietly to target us.
Every episode I think it’s the best one, but BAYBAY, this was the best yet! I loved it so much! I’m laughing and crying! I had no idea how smart this generation was! Also, the more I hear from Andrew, the more I’m in awe of his wisdom! I. Just so proud of all of you!
❤❤❤
Thank you so much! MORE, PLEASE!
There have always been two major questions that I have asked about Black America and that is one (1), why are our communities kept so broken and two (2), with so much Black wealth, why aren’t we better positioned economically, politically and socially?
Well said New York Times bestseller.. You hit the nail on the head. I love this👏🏼👏🏼
Andrew--thank you for your graceful perspective and tutelage in your discussion. Please come back to the leadership role in any capacity. You'll be great!
Yes we need him out there!
Great episode everyone brought it! Andrew verbatimised on a another level!
Changing your money mindset is so important. Having a financial plan gives you freedom. As Tiffany Aliche “The Budgetnista” always say “ Shame Shields Solutions,” Give yourself grace and space.”
I hope you guys are at Essence ( convention center) seminars this year.
Now, I need for Native land podcast to hold down the brothers by holding a town hall forum for them led by Andrew and, of course, the Queens Tiffany and Angela.
OH! I LOVE THIS!
Luvie is so right we need to help each other. In the black community there is a sense of selfishness going on. We are still trying to recover from slavery.
You three are who THEY are afraid of!Smart and BLACK period! Wonderful show❤😊
The 7th B is implied!😂😂😂
I am SO INSPIRED to carry on after listening to this podcast. It's unfortunate I did get notified this was a "live" event! Continue to inspire, continue stand in the gap, continue to SPEAK TRUTH LOUDLY to our Community! We will carry the word and the torch forward so that those of us who have felt alone know that we are not and that we'll NEVER GROW WEARY IN OUR WELL-DOING! PEACE FAMILY! WELCOME HOME!! 🎉🎉❤❤😊😊
Respect from England 🏴 🙏
Whhhhheeww. An excellent conversation
I love you, strong black, intelligent folks the difference between your podcast and a crazy right wing you actually make sense. Keep up the good work the good fight.
Angela, I know you have to be public to gather the people but, move in silence with your intentions. Great job on the Amazing work you did for Marilyn Mosby.
My fave pod
I love this damn show❤❤❤ ya'll bring truth to power every day of the week. When Tiffany spoke about the bills and waiting till they were nearly due to pay em cuz u might need that money for food or rent, and what not, I totally felt that. I too try to salvage and be not procrastinating but envoking of a self preservation tactic. Tomorrow is only survivable for each of us by having a safety net or back up. And for alot of us its been a perpetual battle that we never come out on top of. Bad policies got us here. Now we need to feed the public school kids period! They are the future leaders of America, like it or not republicans. Normal people don't withhold food from children, but our right wing government will always create exceptions. We have to be better as a country. Youngsters are smart and see through the smoke. We have techno human generations comin up and capable of so much. The young people can save us if given the proper tools. Sending SOS.....
More than just lions, we are FEMALE LIONS! We hunt, we "bring home the bacon," prepare the food, and protect our families -- whether blood-related or extended. We are fierce and fearless!! Thank you, Native Land for "bringing us home!" ❤❤😊😊
Another awesome pod cast, ya'll rockin' it. The topics were insightful and informative, Keep it going!! 👍🏾👍🏾
I complement you three because you are deserving. This week, it's your team work. It is so loving. The conversation about money was great and Angela and Tiffany contributed humbly!! I LOVE IT!!! That said, leadership inspires and offers a safe place to get things wrong, even fail. Take the focus off who is a lion and who isn't. Start make space for everyone who steps up.
There is a place for everyone at home. At home, everyone feels valued and useful. Until we can operate as a united voting block, we will not see the fruit of any individual labor. Until we can influence (create fear) legislators, we have not completed the work.
Lovey is a badass. I would like to talk to her about my book!!!
Bevy Smith is so on point and the example of creating unity and HOME.
Keep up the work you all committed to. It is inspiring.
34:51 this is so important. Let our voices be heard for sure!
I have not tuned into a live MSNBC show since Ms. Cross was not “renewed”; CNN been gone from that.
Please support Joy Reid each weekday evenings.
Appreciate your networking and platforming.
Great conversation!👌🏾❤️
Hello ladies and Mr Andrew Gillum. BLESSINGS ❤️❤❤
This was a very good forum, informative, and brings a lot of value to what black people need to be aware of.
Bevy's point about inclusion, was so on point! I've seen it at just about every conference that I have attended. Sometimes we get caught in our own minds and feel like others can't add to the discussion. But if you never pull them in, then you will never know what they can add. We have to be open to inclusion and not be exclusionary.
That was good podcast as have all of them been. Great to see the woman coming together. Men we have to do better and that includes me. Women like these need us to be better because they are getting attacked. Not all successful women are too difficult to deal with but we have to be right spiritually, mentally, and physically.
My man Andrew Gilliam"HE BROUGHT THE RIOT ACT"!!!!!!❤
Love the format.
I LOVE THIS CONFERENCE 🥰
Bevy Smith is the truth and she lives the request she made here. I had recently listened to her book and I saw her out at a Comedy Show. She was so warm, welcoming, and pleasant. I really appreciated that as it was not easy to go over and talk with someone I had seen on TV, but I just had to go over and tell her how much I had enjoyed her book.
Love this
Let’s go to the Bible. The nation of Israel was divided into two sections. The Northern kingdom and the Southern kingdom. Israel was a hot mess, both kingdoms had issues. God said if you keep it up I’m getting rid of you. However, the Northern Kingdom was worse. So God got rid of them first and then he gave the Southern kingdom another hundred and twenty-five to get themselves together. I use that to say, the republicans are the worst, get rid of them first. Then let’s deal with the democrats.
Many people have told me through the years that I have no right to show up, but I will continue to show up for my children and grandchildren the same that I ill continue to show up for all of you. ONE LOVE
If you are on the side of "right", than you should keep showing up. We all live on one earth, there is no other. We have to learn to treat each other with respect.
Great podcast. I think Tiffany needs to have her own show/podcast as well.
She does! It's an intergenerational conversation! I think it's called "Between Us"
It’s called Across Generations
Great episode.
What Bevy Smith said, that's me! When I get into spaces like that, I worry that I will say or do something stupid because I am in a room with "important" people.
I agree, Angela. Lions show up in all forms. And, don't sleep on hyenas. They are deadly in big numbers.
Great show NLP👏🏽👏🏽
This was great!!
Y'all gonna make me cry. These discussions are so necessary.
