I love this, but here I go, I am going to allow myself to be vulnerable. I live in deep red state South Carolina, I am a black woman, business owner of my own medical clinic, entrepreneur, wrote four failed novels, and my business is falling apart. I am highly educated with my Doctoral Degree as a Nurse Practitioner. I mentor young black women, I help others, and I do all of this without anyone that I can go to. I tried to start my own group similar to this years ago of black women... Just sisters helping sisters, and I couldn't get anyone to bite. I never found my tribe. I am sitting here watching my tribe on this podcast that I wish I could be a part of... the oppression here in South Carolina is killing me, and yes... I am tired. This is amazing guys! Keep it up!

Thank you for allowing yourself to feel vulnerable… I’m not in the health care industry, and don’t have resources here (which let’s me know I need to work on my network in this area) but I wish I knew a way to help you.. in the meantime I’ll offer prayer. I would recommend reaching out to NLP team, perhaps they have resources that could help you as health care is a major issue in this country especially for black and brown people..

I don't have to like the PERSON to believe in the work that he is doing to elevate Black voices outside of his personal point of view. We have to see the bigger picture and not villianize people based upon personal ideology. He may not speak for us, but his work to elevate these platforms is necessary.

I didn't grow up hurting for a thing but (and because) my parents did, we were raised not to waste anything because you never know when the tide may turn & you're doing without. I buy toiletries & cleaning supplies in bulk and STILL make sure I get every drop of toothpaste, lotion, Listerine, Dawn, deodorant, Clorox, etc., before I think it's time to take another one out.
I've always kept my ducks in a row; paid all my bills on time, kept licenses & insurance because I've been *conditioned* to always be prepared to be pulled over, questioned, accused & having to defend myself in some way. "Those people" always expect us to be out here dirty, sorry & ignorant like some marks & I love being able to disappoint them by not giving them that ammunition.

From my own experience as a black, immigrant female, Texas is true to its "LONE-star" state title. Lions often stand aLONE. Solution: let's link arms with those who want to link arms - regardless of their background or country of origin. Sadly, black immigrants are often otherized by black Americans, and the reverse is regrettably true. Black Americans are often demeaned by Afro-immigrants Yet, the attacks and systemic biases are launched at ALL of us as blacks. Let's UNITE to combat injustices and secure thriving futures.

That same dynamic seems to get lost in the tiny room at iHeart or on a Zoom call. I'm not sure what needs to happen to repeat this level of excellence. Your three personalities seem to "riff" better, like musicians, with the addition of the comments from such an informed audience. Just a few thoughts from an observer. So, so powerful and great job.

Angela in the beginning you said that we don’t need to let everyone know our next move! You are 100% right I think one of the reasons why we got as far as we got during reconstruction was because we were hidden because we had no other choice. I think the game of America now is making us think it’s cool to present black so that they can quietly to target us.

There have always been two major questions that I have asked about Black America and that is one (1), why are our communities kept so broken and two (2), with so much Black wealth, why aren’t we better positioned economically, politically and socially?

I love this damn show❤❤❤ ya'll bring truth to power every day of the week. When Tiffany spoke about the bills and waiting till they were nearly due to pay em cuz u might need that money for food or rent, and what not, I totally felt that. I too try to salvage and be not procrastinating but envoking of a self preservation tactic. Tomorrow is only survivable for each of us by having a safety net or back up. And for alot of us its been a perpetual battle that we never come out on top of. Bad policies got us here. Now we need to feed the public school kids period! They are the future leaders of America, like it or not republicans. Normal people don't withhold food from children, but our right wing government will always create exceptions. We have to be better as a country. Youngsters are smart and see through the smoke. We have techno human generations comin up and capable of so much. The young people can save us if given the proper tools. Sending SOS.....

I complement you three because you are deserving. This week, it's your team work. It is so loving. The conversation about money was great and Angela and Tiffany contributed humbly!! I LOVE IT!!! That said, leadership inspires and offers a safe place to get things wrong, even fail. Take the focus off who is a lion and who isn't. Start make space for everyone who steps up.
There is a place for everyone at home. At home, everyone feels valued and useful. Until we can operate as a united voting block, we will not see the fruit of any individual labor. Until we can influence (create fear) legislators, we have not completed the work.
Lovey is a badass. I would like to talk to her about my book!!!
Bevy Smith is so on point and the example of creating unity and HOME.
Keep up the work you all committed to. It is inspiring.

Bevy's point about inclusion, was so on point! I've seen it at just about every conference that I have attended. Sometimes we get caught in our own minds and feel like others can't add to the discussion. But if you never pull them in, then you will never know what they can add. We have to be open to inclusion and not be exclusionary.

Women like these need us to be better because they are getting attacked. Not all successful women are too difficult to deal with but we have to be right spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Let’s go to the Bible. The nation of Israel was divided into two sections. The Northern kingdom and the Southern kingdom. Israel was a hot mess, both kingdoms had issues. God said if you keep it up I’m getting rid of you. However, the Northern Kingdom was worse. So God got rid of them first and then he gave the Southern kingdom another hundred and twenty-five to get themselves together. I use that to say, the republicans are the worst, get rid of them first. Then let’s deal with the democrats.
