One of my favorite coaches in the world, celebrating my fav tournament in the world working on the shots that make a difference in scores and fun. #Dreamgolf thanks JR.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Hahaha! "Yes, i did just hit the sand, and yes it would be a penalty!" 😀
Always pre-empting the audience "insights"!
Love it James. Such a good video. The thought process, pros/cons evaluation and talking about the course conditions. All so helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Yes I'm learning pretty fast what pushes some people's buttons 😂
Good info for links golf, thank you.
Thank you. Very helpful and thoughtful instruction. As a high handicapper lucky enough to play regular links golf there's a lot here for me to think on and practice. Great stuff!😊
Thanks! Let me know how it goes
Hi James. Loving all your short game instruction vids.
The more I see the more I realise how much work I need to put in or I could just hit and hope.
Regards.
Really, really loving them. ❤
Thanks Colin, appreciate the feedback and support!
Outstanding
Thank you!
Fascinating, I'm constantly amazed at all the different shots you could have in your arsenal after a lot of practice.
Nice bump and run 😂
Impossible to have a toolbox too big, just have to select shots well.
😂 Made up for the first effort!
World class instruction. Thanks James!!
Thanks!
Love the content
Thanks!
Learned a few things there thanks. It's funny though, practicing all the time on links turf I never consider a tight lie to be anything other than normal :)
Consider that a privilege and a competitive advantage!!
Thanks James very instructive and enjoyable. Only came across your channel thru the Pro, Gavin, at West Lancs but glad I am now subscribed
Thanks Stephen, West Lancs is now a firm favourite for me, jealous of every member there!
What loft club should I use in bunker that’s pure sand. Used a 56 yesterday. It worked
Thanks James. Two questions
When you have a firm very tight lie and you are using your 58 or 60 to get some height what adjustments do you make to help ensure a solid strike using the
1. Spin face toe down option
And
2. Spin face using the toe up option. In that situation do you use a little cut feel to keep the heel from digging
Thanks
Paul
What’s your grip,pressure when chipping on a scale from 1-10, 10 a death grip?
3-4
Really great video thanks!
Curious - 8802 putter?
Also, with 7 iron your swing pretty much a “baseline” type swing taking a little loft off - is that correct? Again thanks.
Toulon Latrobe 'Arnold Palmer'!
Thanks!
On holiday right now (which is nice) with no access to golf and itching to play a good links course. Torture watching this great video 🤣👍🏻
Falling back in love with links golf (which I grew up on), maybe a links golf tour can be your next holiday!
I like the fact you were embarrassed to hole the bump and run and stress it was not the % play. Ball was down in that collection area again if it missed.
Great shot though, it looked in the moment it came off the bat.
6ft by at worst! Might not have been the percentage play for me but could be for someone else
@@JamesRidyardGolfIt was a lovely shot.
You didn’t mention using low-lofted hybrid or iron or fairway wood as an alternative to long putts or long chips with 8i/7i, would that be a bad option?
Absolutely is an option, very effective too with practice
@@JamesRidyardGolf thanks! I have been learning a lot from your videos!
It's all well and good having informative, intelligent and pragmatic content, however, this is not a even close to being a proper CZcams video at all. Not even close.
Where's the CGI'd ball and "it's going in" on every single shot? Where's the whooping and shrieking?
In the absence of this, I suppose I'll have to make do with a better short game.
Tch...
Hahaha, you had me going after the first sentence...
