DISCLAIMER: I am not paid to promote any specific products or brands; I just use the products I find work best for me through my experiences. There is no reason for me to promote a bad product, as then I would not enjoy using it, not like the result on my model, and not be proud of publicizing it in a video. There's also no point in me doing this to keep up relations with a company if the only benefit would be getting more of the same products that I didn't like. I have not used every product out there, but from what I have used, I keep using the products I like, and that's why I use them in my videos. You can use whatever other products you would like to and you can feel that they are better - that is your opinion, and is perfectly fine by me, thus I hope that feeling is reciprocated.

Last summer. I built the early production version of this kit #6641. Like you, I started off thinking that it was going to be a fun enjoyable build. But Nope! Dragon wasn't going to let that happen. I ran into the exact same issues as you did. In addition I had a lot of fit issues getting the upper hull components together, including a hideous gap between the engine deck and fighting compartment. Inexcusable on Dragons part., considering the $70 price tag. Frustrating kit to build overall. So anyone reading... If you're going to buid this kit, bring your patience, you're gonna need it. Thanks for posting Evan. Now I know that I wasn't the only one that had difficulty building this kit.

@@guidor.4161 I couldn't agree more!! Anytime I build a kit from Dragon or Trumpeter, I feel like I need to build a Tamiya. Just to remind myself why I enjoy modelling. To be honest, Dragon kits really haven't been up to the standard for a good while now. They're too concerned nowadays with throwing together kits using various sprues from newer and older kits or non-Dragon parts (ie: SU-76i and numerous T-34/85 kits) and tossing them out on the market as a new release at a higher price, after cutting costs. Lately, I've tried spending my money on other brands like Meng, Takom and RFM to name a few. For awhile, Dragon ruled the WWII subject when it comes to armor but nowadays, not so much anymore with other companies also releasing their own examples. One more issue I have with Dragon that I forgot to mention was, who thought it would be a great idea to release kits with the incorrect fenders where you have to fill in the location holes where tools once went, except it ruins the detail of the anti-slip surface? Dragon really need to get their heads out of their asses. Anyway, great job Evan as always, glad to see you overcame the issues with this particular kit as well.

I've got this kit in my stash as well as many others in this series. I think Dragon's use of recycled materials is not as bad as being led to believe here. No kit is gonna be fully to anyone's liking we all have our own issues. I agree on the pit marks but they're easy to sand off, especially on that mantlet. Its really just a few swipes of the sanding file, Its no worse than sanding the tires, if anything much easier than that. I have this kit and it didn't come with any magic trax just the DS crap. That's the worst part of the Dragon offering. I can live with the rest. But using the same parts sprues over and over again isn't just a Dragon thing, just about everyone does it and for good reason. Why waste time and money to make a few new parts when they already exist. That seems a bit nonsensical.

Ok so here it goes, I'm doing the same Panzer III G that Bill Plunk did on his blog, using the same kit that Hamikar used. Except I'm using the much nicer Panzer III's from the newer Cyber Hobby, Dragon offerings. I just worked on that back plate tonight. It took me like ten minutes with sanding and fitting to get that plate in question to fit. Not hard at all. It can be done.

The complaining is strong with this one..lol... I've built this kit. Its nothing horrible. Just gotta use your modelling skills. First World problems. Haha

That's kind of what I did, isn't it? It's just surprising that a "brand new" $80 kit is just cobbled together with random parts to make due.

I don't buy Dragon kits anymore, for all of the reasons in the video, plus they're overpriced and customer service is ABYSMAL!!! In fact I've been selling a lot of my Dragon kits lately.

That's disappointing that dragon is cutting corners like that, especially if the parts are leaving the factory with flash on them. But despite these shortcomings and inconveniences, you've made an excellent looking model. Good work and thanks for the review.
