E.T. Model Panther Tracks Revisited (What 1/35 3D Printed Tracks are Best? | Review Part 1.5)
Have a question, so what is the sequence of painting a tiger. So when the Tiger came out the factory it was painted in red primer. Then the tank was then painted Tiger Grey and then shipped and then when in the field was painted with camo colors. Also the tanks that went to Africa were painted in Italy before they were shipped to with the desert camo?
The Tigers were primed in red and then painted one of three ways: The first ~20 Tigers were painted in grey. This was a very limited batch and most of these fought around Leningrad. The majority of "early" Tigers were painted in RAL8000 base with RAL7027 camouflage covering 1/3rd of the vehicle. This was done at the factory until at least April 1943. Tiger 131 which survives today at the Bovington tank museum is a good example of this. After that, Tigers were painted in RAL7028 -- the standard German dark yellow colour. Once they arrived at the unit they could be painted with custom camouflage using the green and/or brown colours. Tanks weren't typically painted over multiple times. They didn't survive long enough in combat for that to be an issue.
This is the best bradley with no interior on the market , the detail is next level , the suspension is mid , compare this to RFM suspension (this means you have to pay extreme attention when gluing the suspension arms) , follow the instructions and as the creator of the video said do your research i made 3 small fixable mistakes cause I didn't follow the instructions and didn't do research . Detail 9.5/10 (by far the best bradley) , 8.5/10 fit (perfect fit is possible but it needs work) , plastic 9/10 (the plastic is good its hard plastic but easily cuttable)
Great points! It is an excellent kit. I am just finishing the weathering this week.
For comparison the leopard 2+++s of RFM is 10/10 detail with the upgrade pack , 9.5/10 fit and 8.5/10 plastic (too soft not easily cuttable you have to use hand power)
I really like your way of leaving the tracks and wheels for painting , I wish I had thought of that my way is not as good :D thanks for content , sub and like 👍
Amazing work and tutorial. Thanks for inspiring.
Thanks for the tutorial. Be careful you left some personal info on the screen when you showed the time.
Lol, you're right, but that is long outdated information by now. I'll be more careful next time.
I’ve been watching for a long time, why don’t you do modulation? Everything is fine, but at the end your models look monotonous and flat..Like toys.. This is a mystery to me.
Personally I find modulation is not the realistic style I aim for in my models. I can appreciate it on others' models but I am usually trying to match a historical photograph.
What tool did you use to roll through the putty ? Thats awesome !
Awesome result 👍
Amazing work! How do you prime the model, just airbrush with the LP-18? Do you dilute that? Thanks!
Yes I painted the LP-18 as a solid base coat....not technically primer but it's durable paint for sure. I think it 60% thinner to 40% paint and I use Mr Color Leveling Thinner.
Night Shift told me to not use hairspray sorry bud 🤷♂️
Well presented.
New to the game of using a sprayer for modeling. Looking to paint several tigers and panthers. Wondering what I need to purchase in the way of a gun air compressor ?? Needle spray tips ?? Any recommendations and a source for these items would be great. Enjoy Watching you paint. You have inspired me to do the same Thank you !
Amazing modelling 👍 I’m new to the modelling world ….. do you varnish after all the weathering ? Again brilliant detail 👌
I do not varnish at the very end as it will affect the pigments. Rather, I apply the matte varnish after all the oil streaking and dust on the vehicle is done...then I add the pigments and mud on the lower hull. It won't get worn off as I don't handle the model from the hull.
@@Panzermeister36 Thanks for that 👍
Surely we get a new model railway video soon??
very good job ,,you said you was worried about the ends of the boxcar ,,,,a little trick i found ,is to use cinnamon and diluted elmers glue,,,brush on the glue and then sprinkle cinnamon ,,,works good on old car dioramas too
You should do a locomotive but it is a Gp35 In Ho Scale Just Weathering No Graffiti
I am working on a GP38-2. No graffiti on the locomotive, don't worry 😁
Am i the only one who likes the way the surfaces look after covering them with hairspray? It looks so realistic. Not too dull, not too shiny. Just perfect realistic paint on metal effect. Especially textured surfaces pop out so much after applying hairspray.
How did you weather the coupler and the wheels? Would love to see a video on that - the coupler specially looks great.
I airbrushed them with a mix of Tamiya XF-68 and XF-72. I have shown that in my other model railway weathering videos...the gondola one should be helpful for you.
@@Panzermeister36 thanks for the reply! Recently discovered your channel and love it so far.
Very late to this but I believe this was reboxed as Wittmann's Last Tiger (6800) which is going for reasonable prices on Sprue Brothers and some other sites. I might pick it up but I'm torn between it and Rye Field's Initial 121 (5078). Not to mention the Takom and Rye Field Tigers I've got in my backlog...
The Wittmann Tiger is slightly different as it is a command variant so it should have extra antennas, plugged coaxial MG, etc. but I imagine all the same parts are in the box to make this base kit without the Wittmann extras.
@@Panzermeister36 yes, the instructions include the option for a standard late. The only problem is the camouflage, but I'll make do with a rattle can, stippling, maybe some pastels... not much I can do without an airbrush.
Best of luck with the project!
Thank you. Your weathering videos have always been an essential resource for my models.
Thanks for uploading your talk! I like your presentation style!
Thank you! I will have another one this July as well.
excellent
Very informative. Been looking to paint some early DAK with Panzer III Gs, Panzer IV Es, and some Pz II Fs, and this subtle camo looks much better than standard RAL 8000.
How many hours does IT take yOu to make this model excluding drying time
Nice job…as always…how many tiger1 were sent to North Africa…and how many made it out.. I know the fear of that tank spooked allies throughout the war..when the numbers don’t seam match the “legend “ of the tiger1
the thing is you don't even need micro set if you are going to varnish the model later.
Yeah pretty much. I don't even use it. Just Micro Sol.
i am from switzerland and the priming was also done on farmer amschines :) tehy ar stil primered often in red or orange.
Glad to see a video where the guy doesnt try to be funny or have a gimmick. Just straight tutorial. Can the white hairspray chipping be done without an airbrush?
You can try but I don't think the hairspray technique works with brush-applied paint; when applying the paint you'll probably start to activate the hairspray early.
may i know...what size needle airbrush when u do camouflage ?
Great job, thank you for showing us how to do it. I have a question. Do you use protection after oil effects? Varnishes react with pigments and a white coating is created.
Amazing work.
Graffiti on railway wagons looks boring and the same type of thing, nothing really technical or really fun to look at. I don't want to Graffiti my models but my wife thinks I should.
Siempre aprendo con tus videos. Gracias
Wow! Outstanding
Great tutorial, i notice you don´t use lacquer very often, but at the end, after applying mud effects and pigments ... no need to protect it all by spraying a matt lacquer?
What would I need to protect against? A varnish at the end would ruin the earth effects on the lower hull. I don't play with my models and if I need to move it I'll simply handle it by the superstructure.
Thx, i only wanted to be sure that i understood your video correctly. Now it is up to myself😊.
Drive wheels look odd
What an incredible effort Evan. I know it wasn’t your favorite kit but, man, it looks stunning.
Thank you George
Excellent video, looking to buy an RC tank and this video has given me loadd of inspiration
This video was great to watch..You explain well about what to use,why and the difference in products..This gives the explaining in what’s aimed for and methods to achieve the result..
Great video! I didn't know about these new Tamiya colors. Very helpful!
Best vid ever … love your tank man it’s surpreme
Great work
Ok, ur by far one of the best reviewer, a standard few can hold a candle to. No bs, just the facts.
Since the real thing is coated in red oxide, it's only fitting to do the same with the scale model.
What color were fire extinguishers on German armor?
Usually dark yellow or grey. A similar but slightly different colour than the base camouflage colour of the vehicle. They were not red when mounted externally.
They developed some really good paints, you could airbrush them very well and paint them excellently, and what do they do? They change the formula for some reason and make the stuff completely useless for airbrushing - even with the AK thinner! Annoying for us customers! I hope it will be a lesson for AK if the customers turn away from them!
AK has done this like 3 times. Changing formulas for their paints. AK 3rd Gen, AM Real Color, and the Metalizers. And now they are redoing the Real Colors again!
I also had the same gap issue with the front plates. On future builds of this kit, I will put the lower hull totally together first with upper & lower front plates.
Exceptional!
Thank you!
1:45 wtf is that????
I don't know the name but it's an Israeli self-propelled howitzer on a Sherman chassis.
@@Panzermeister36 oh thanks! Tought its fake sf. Btw, great channel. Like much Yours real weathering. Dont like comix. Cheers

@@Panzermeister36 Your Pz I is best and most realistic DAK PzI I have seen so far. Im showing it other people and somethimes watch it again. Love Kursk Stug as well. Dont like night shift overbrightened style with excess of blach washes. Cheers
Thank you for posting this video. I just ordered one of the kits. Your putting the spare road wheels on the model made look for some reference photos. I found one photo similar to how you have your mounted. On the real StuG how were these attached. Also I found a couple of photos where the spare road wheels are laying on their sides on the fenders. It appears they aren’t secured in anyway. Your video will help me when I do my kit. Still deciding on which paint brand to use. Definitely will be in Dunkelgrau. Cheers, Larry
