You nailed it by explaining the difference between the north & south. Madison would be my second choice. Your list takes into consideration the economic diversity and tastes/income of individuals as what they can realistically afford. It's like the old expression "champagne tastes and a beer pocket." There are so many things to consider when you make , what in most cases might be your most important investment. So many factors post pandemic have opened our eyes to what states are not a good idea in the long run. We've experienced government deciding if we are essential or non essential (which can be the deal breaker for employment opportunities). We're all at different stages (both economically and professionally speaking) in life and looking for different things for different reasons. I appreciate the fact that you say the good, bad, and ugly because we need this type of information prior to buying. Lots of places have turned out to be all hype and no substance. GREAT list!
Terrific video. My wife and I have lived in Georgia for more than 35 years, and I must say, as a longtime resident, that your assessments are very close to my own feelings. Well done.
I haven’t heard of these. Very interesting! I usually recommend north. Such as alpharetta, Roswell, johns creek, Duluth , most cities in Gwinnett county
Going by compared data, the overall best collection of places that are clumped together in one part of the state is most of North Fulton and the bordering areas... 👍
I have a place in Royston. Moved back to Dixie County, Fl. back in 2004. I was born and raised in Dixie County, Fl., but Royston is nice. Reminds me of Cross City, Fl. where I'm from, but there are a few more amenities in Royston. I worked in Gainesville, Ga. when we lived up there. There a lot of nice places that are day trips from Royston, Ga. (Franklin County) and its the home of Ty Cobb..
As a resident of Rome..it is fairly "Nice"..not small by any means but also not Metro...jobs are plentiful... Crime isn't a huge deal... usually Violent crimes are "Mutual" between the parties. Cartersville is nice and the Kennesaw/Marietta area is wonderful. Most ppl travel to the ATL area for Entertainment or what not...then travel the hr back home.. Good ol GA!!
None of these videos ever put Ballground on their best 10 list. It’s 50 miles north of Atlanta up I-575. When I lived there from 2005 to 2010, I loved it.
I really appreciate this informative about all these places i am in the Military and from New york city and have not lived anywhere else yet i visited GA a few times and i think the cities and towns are beautiful so this is helpful in helping me with my choices of where i want to settle down Thank You Sir
Bro Atlanta suburbs is a nice place to live. Savannah GA is expensive and lot of places to eat and drink and walk around Savannah like Atlanta. Athen is the home of UGA that won a national football championship. Dalton GA is by Chattanooga TN. Idk about Folkston GA because they have railfan around Folkston GA to see train.
A very good list. I’ve lived in both Thomasville and Cartersville for very long times working as a photojournalist and we are moving to Rome after living in southwest Flori-duh for more than eight years. And might I make a suggestion? Please show more of the downtowns and housing areas and less of the strip mall streets as they look the same everywhere
I have lived in canton and now saint Simons, I am basically following you… but for photography and less strip malls I would say Savannah is a good place.. trees, river, marsh, homes, historical downtown.. quite expensive but you’ll find a few good deals. I mine I am bias but canton is nice, same for blue ridge, saint Simons, maybe Darien.
Dalton is horrible! The police pulls you over for nothing! My son gets pulled over all the time! Lake Lanier ! Is horrible! The lake was built over a town! There are cemeteries with dead people in lake Lanier they did not pull up the graves before they built the lake over the town
The town was an all black community and the government flooded it which is now known as Lake Lanier. The town name was Oscarville and the pine trees are still underneath Lake Lanier and when people fall in the water they get tangled up in the trees so the survival 0:00 rate is not good..
Cumming, GA IE, Lake Lanier has a dark history. You should Google Oscarvill,GA. I also grew up in Blairsville, GA. The people are not snobby. Their just suspicious of outsiders. It used to be a "Sundown" town. It is a Mountain "Resort" town. About 30 to 30 percent of the residents aren't even from there. They moved from Florida and other places. Those are the snobby people.
Missed Woodstock - one of the best place around. Alpharetta/ Roswell - awesome, but really expensive. Surprised that you included Dalton in the list, it have not made impression on me. Rome surprised me - unexpectedly clean and cozy town. Btw live in Calhoun it is safe, green and unexpansive place.
But why did I watch this whole video, with several clips over and over of Warm Springs, GA and maybe even a shot at fdr park, just for it to not even be on here 😆.
warner robins where one of the largest AFB in the US is, is pretty nice. i think middle Ga was left out here. macon sucks. but a lot other cities in middle Ga are nice, such as perry, bonaire, byron, and warner robins.
South Georgia's 'stone's throw' distance from beautiful Florida is what makes up for some of the bad things. Plus, less traffic, great schools and cheaper home prices. I like South Georgia, it's where I was born. And I know several people from Atlanta wanting to relocate to South Georgia.
Rome is very expensive! Only a fool would move 2 Cartersville! I live here! I'm trying 2 leave! Cedartown is a great place! Hiram Georgia is a great place Calhoun Georgia is a great place! Lived here since 1992! Left but had 2 move back when my father got sick! Don't go to Cartersville hospital go to Rome hospital! Best place on Earth is Kingman Arizona! I lived there! It's heaven
If you had to live out of your car, what city would you choose to park in and why? What resource’s does that city have that could help you survive and what opportunities that could improve your life?
Wouldn't be the south without a pet of course pets are welcomed now bringing them in a store or restaurant you may get a few looks but it depends where you live. Visit and ask people love their animals and take them.everywhere.
Use to hang up in hartswell and elberton nice I'm sure it's booming now but lake hartwell and south carolina within view anderson south carolina to be exact
Rossville has some decent neighborhoods on the peripheries but the main town is run-down and shabby. It used to be a thriving manufacturing town but that's long past. The major roads are lined with abandoned buildings, and many of the neighborhoods are poor and unkempt.
Bro I can tell you don’t know much about Georgia. There are parts near Savannah Ga that are really nice. Especially Pooler, and Richmond hill. These are two of the fastest growing counties in the whole state my friend.

Police are horrible!;will not help you! Cartersville is epic Center for the Coronavirus! My church started it 1 man gave 40 people the virus! 13 died! Because he hugged everyone! The hours are not worth! The people at the courthouse are just mean! Will not help you! Have to have a permit to burn trash have to have a permit to plant bushes have to have a permit to do anything in your yard
South Georgia is mostly agricultural that brings much needed revenue to the state and is why it is mostly rural. Georgia is home to the number one producer of pecans and peanuts. Peaches are a huge commodity to the state as well as its world renowned Vidalia Onions, as well as the charming southern city the onions are named after, Vidalia Georgia. In addition, there are many beautiful towns in South Georgia such as Thomasville Georgia that has made many lists of most beautiful towns in America. Another beautiful town close to Thomasville is Bainbridge. Darien, Tybee Island, Jekyll Island as well as St. Simon are all beautiful southern coastal towns. And let’s never forget Savannah Georgia not to also fail to mention all the booming cities in and all around the 3rd largest sea port in America, the Port of Savannah.
Bainbridge beautiful 👉🤣 bless your heart. I travel all over USA.. California is beautiful.. the colorado mountains are beauty. Florida beaches… arkansas mountains.. the south mostly looks like a dead scrub land
Funny how you left out one the most affluent area of Georgia. Anyhow, violence and deep 'urban' poverty are not in the South Georgia, its in the north, along with organised hate groups, violent crime and blatant levels of gross inequality. Again, those things are found in north georgia, not south georgia.
Its cold in georgia!! Anything north of I-4 in Florida is cold in the winter. Central Florida is hot in the summer for 2-3 months,90's and 100's F. In the winter, down into the 20's and 30's! So, if u dont like changing weather and barometic pressure, this isnt for u !!
This guy should have to live in the first 6 for at least 3 months before recommending them. Cost and the corruption of the courts and cops . Hmmm . Even many areas of South Georgia are not very friendly either and very corrupt also.
Sir, you obviously haven’t lived in Rome Georgia. It has a lot of crime. It is full of methamphetamine addicts it is definitely not a place for progressive thinkers. This is Marjorie Taylor Green territory 100%. She’s from that area and that county spinning a bit of time there would be needed to understand exactly what that place is like.
I think you did a great job on this video only thing is most of the towns north of Atlanta are snobby people and kinda red neckish ?…Middle Georgia Eastern Georgia and South Georgia have some pretty good location to live in JMO ✌🏽❤️

Yea im planning on living in marietta beautiful place
Really enjoyed this list and the out of the box view of Georgia! Thank you
Thanks. You explained each place perfectly as far as the esthetics of what I would be looking for.
I agree with you about the charming St. Marys. My pick too.
This is a great show!! I can take a trip and never leave my arm chair in the comfort of my home!! Jose tells it like it is, like it or not!!
Glad you enjoy it!
Glad to see you have my town Dalton
Great list and Kennesaw, GA is good also
Love this.

Savannah Georgia is a great place to live and the food is excellent and delicious. Transportation is a great way to get around the city.

St. Mary's/Kingsland for me..
