@Alastor marie Love this video! Funny cause I added this exact brand in my Amazon cart before watching this video. For the gloves ur using are they just rubber gloves? I'm gonna follow ur method for clean finish. Thanks
What would you normally home in one of these I have a 40gal extra ans standing up is only way I can make it fit. Would like so pet ideas. Also do you put the heat lamps on the side glass? Thank you
I have one of these on a 40 gallon and it is definitely worth getting the thicker more expensive one for the 40 gallon. As far as animals I usually put New Caledonian geckos in them so they don’t need a heat source as long as you keep the room they’re in around 70-75. I would absolutely not suggest putting heat on glass, it can shatter and the heat wouldn’t even go through properly either. So I would suggest if you’re using a conversion kit to put a crested gecko, a chahoua gecko, a leachianus gecko, or a gargoyle gecko.
This is pretty awesome however, I've heard that uvb and heat doesn't go through glass so wouldn't you have to remove the top glass pane and replace it with wire mesh?
That is true so you have to be selective on which animals you put in them. I use them exclusively for my New Caledonian geckos in a temp regulated room because they don’t require high heat or basking spots and don’t require uvb with proper supplements. For some species they are great options!
I already have one of these kits for my 20 gallon and it’s gorgeous. But now I want to upgrade to 40 gallon. And my question is for the stability of a 40 gallon tank on its side. Do you have any issues standing something so tall up on its side? I’m paranoid it will get knocked over.
No I haven’t had any issues! It is heavy but luckily that makes it pretty sturdy! I would suggest getting the 1/4 inch for a 40 gallon just so the plexiglass isn’t wobbly though :)

Yes just normal disposable gloves! They fit a little more snug so makes less of a mess! :)
If I used this on a Zika turtle glass aquarium that had a opening on one side could I use uvb? As long as I added mesh and such?
