this movie made me cry but I love it so MUCH !
My cousin had foxtel when I was in primary school for one glorious year.
Back then there was this channel that would play Bridge to Terabithia on repeat and we'd always watch it when it was on.
I never really understood why Leslie had to die. I honestly still don't to some degree.
I just remember being so happy to see that a relationship between a boy and a girl didn't have to be weird or anything. That they could just be kids, use their imaginations to run around and have a good time.
Rewatching the movie I remembered how jarring and honestly traumatizing it was to have Leslie there for so much of the movie and then BOOM shes gone and you don't ever get to see her face again. I guess thats part of why I'm here haha 😅
But I think its magical in a way. I feel like I carry a piece of her in my heart and try my best to embody whatever spark she had that created the special bond between her and Jess.
I'm not a 9 year old boy like I was when I first watched the movie but I can still use my imagination (still quite rusty but its still there) to play pretend, make up characters, environments and scenarios to have a good time.
Thing is I'm a 23 year old guy now and as much as I still hold onto the belief that I can have a magical relationship in my life... I just don't know if it's even possible any more, let alone for me 😣
For the longest time, I've only really wanted to be with one girl. I know a lot of guys make a big deal about being a Player and all that and if thats you, Cool. But I guess since I watched Bridge to Terabithia, I've always known in my heart I just wanted one girl like Leslie. Its funny you know, I don't think it was too long after watching the movie but when I was like 9 or 10, I used to sleep on one side of the mattress. I did this because I thought maybe a girl like Leslie would magically appear on the other side and I wouldn't have to feel so alone anymore. A bit embarassing but who cares.
I just wish I had a relationship like theirs that would actually last. But I suppose maybe thats why theirs was so magical? Because it was never meant to last 🥲
Leslie had to go because she's an angel on a mission to save Jess and his little sister. And she had to pretend to be dead so as not to violate the Prime Directive of Star Trek and to encourage Jess to open the portal to Terabithia on his own.

And it would be about Jess remembering about it and remembering Leslie so he went back. So he follows a person he catches up and they both realize it’s Leslie and Jess both are rejoiced they start dating the burkes and Aaron’s were that Leslie is alive then they all go to terrabithia and remember about to dark master they join forces and defeat him and it turns out the dark master kidnapped Leslie after the dark master is defeated they go about life
If you want to find relief, find fanfics instead. There are several good ones I'd like to share; A Life Rescued by IHateSnakes for instance. Making a sequel would ruin the beauty of the story. Sorry if I was being harsh here.

There could be a part 2 featuring a new generation of kids who stumble upon the Bridge to Terabithia, and to make it connect to the first film, maybe Jesse or Maybelle has a kid who knows about the forest
Maybelle/Jesse’s kid could tell another kid about the forest and the legacy of Terabithia and memory of Leslie passes on

Even in school bro i swear I feel like I'm not in the real world it's like trauma because we all know when you're a kid, your imagination is wide open so that movie is literally made me think outside world until this day I'm 18 and I'm still thinking about my first love which is just a movie character but in my dreams it's real

I mean I don't know how to feel when I look at leslie and jess they were terrific. I mean leslie's death had me crying for hours and I look at the actors they probably didn't even realize the impact their performance had its mad they probably treated it as a just another role and here we were crying our eyes out.
They could have used those special effects to resurect Leslie so then I wouldn't have my f***ing soul broken for the rest of my life.

It's been said that Bridge to Terabithia, was based on Which c***, Atheist , an swearing i didn't notice any of that ? I was furious when she died except i don't recall any swearing Witchcraft certainly didn't notice Atheism ? ? i guess as young children things like that definitely goes over my head. I don't remember any of that i remember being angry because they had this beautiful magical place and were so happy he had an actual friend who seemed to love each other and were definitely very happy until he leaves to go on a Field trip to the art museum only to come home and find out that his only friend in the world was gone ? i remember screaming that Disney sucked and wanted to write letters telling them how furious i was about the movie that was so beautiful magical and then they killed the little girl im still furious about that lol 😆 i know it's a movie except for dame Disney is supposed to be happy magical bla bla bla then this ! WTH do much for a part 2.
