3:08 a line that works on three levels.
One, a callback to when he said it earlier.
Two, a reference to the Old Man of the Desert, Shai Hulud.
Three, prescience to when he crosses paths with Gurney again in the desert in Part Two.
Me in the kitchen at 3 am and i recognize my dad's footstep coming

I cannot stress enough how much I love this movie 🌘
So, Dune Leto couldn't order his carryall to pick up any of the crew? The carryall had gone missing, as it is written.
I mean it is a carryall, not a landanywhere
Because cool visual is above meaning and purpose. In book there was no carryall at all because Harkonnen agent have killed the pilot and crashed the aircraft.
@@Devinfuller7 this is such a dumb comment but still made me belly laugh, thanks
So it just eats everything?
Doesn't like soup or anything else that's too wet

possibly the greatest movie of the last decade
I would say Dune Part Two is the greatest, with Part One a close second.
I wanted to like this movie, but they made paul a diversity hire
Huh..?
@@garyspence2128 french
I tried to enjoy it, but it was just the colonial white savior trope again. Felt very dated.
Well, the source material is more than 60 years old, and if you haven't seen the second movie, I won't spoil it. The writer wanted to show the dangers of people following a messiah figure blindly, so I think you should give it a second chance. Paul is not the hero of this story. Barely anyone is, just like in Game of Thrones
In that case you missed the entire point of the films and books. Paul is not a saviour.
Paul is no saviour
One, the concept of race doesn't really exist in the Dune universe. Paul is white, the Harkonnens are white, Fremen are different shades of brown and black, and Dr. Liet-Kynes was a black Imperial Planetologist. Dr. Yueh was Asian. None of it really matters except family heritage for Great Houses and the Bene Gesserit breeding program. Everything else mostly boils down to what planet you're from.
Second, Paul is not a savior. The whole point of the story is that he does very evil things and manipulates the Fremen.
So if that's the conclusion you drew, I invite you to watch again, and/or read the book, so you can form a more informed opinion.
An embarrassingly ignorant take.
