    To be honest, instead of eating Chinese food, I would rather eat British fish and chips!
    My favorite so far is Italy Tuscan food! Maybe you can go to Italy on your next trip! 👍🥰🙏👌
    BTW, A Well-known British musician Brendan Kavanagh performs his usual live broadcast at London St Pancras Station in London several days ago.
    Play the piano, have fun and interact with the crowd. He's been doing this for a while and is quite successful.
    Unfortunately, this week was the beginning of a nightmare for Brendan, who had a very rude interaction with some Chinese nationalists,
    they seemed to think they knew British law better than he did, and told him he couldn't shoot his video.
    A well-known pianist was performing in London but was asked by the Chinese to "obey Chinese laws".
    The British police officer chose to help the Chinese but not him. How heartbreaking this is!

      Don't talk rot. Those Chinese r Falungong people deliberately set out to create propaganda against China. If u watched that video at the beginning the Chinese woman even said she's British. The loud mouth Chinese guy had been shown to be also British Chinese living and working in London. They r Falungong members or China haters who r funded by the US and the West against China. If u weren't so brainwashed by all the propaganda u would see the whole thing is a fake set up. Maybe u r actually one of them too.

  • @LordLOC
    @LordLOC Před 5 měsíci +4

    Weird David, I've seen plenty of other videos from other CZcamsrs who've shown these exact (and some you didn't show) shops and restaurants. So, who is the they that won't show us this side of Chinatown bro?! BRO!? Is it the Chinese food lobby??? Is it Gordan Ramsay trying to keep you down?! :)
    *Edit* I meant to add, that Taiwanese restaurant, one of my friends who lives just outside London - her family LOVES that place. And they indeed get the noodle soup. But they get it very spicy, and when they say "very spicy" it'll blow your face off apparently. And that lady who (I assume) runs the place, is so nice all the time. My friend and her family are from Brooklyn like me so we're used to "real" Chinese or Taiwanese food, let alone the Americanized stuff of course. Brooklyn's Chinatown is pretty good (better than Manhattans if you ask me, which is overrated and a tourist trap from hell) but we almost always went to Flushing (even back in the late 80s it was terrific) and three very specific spots in the Bronx. So many great memories. This is why I love it when you do videos covering Chinese cuisine/Asian food. Always good memories, even though I'm old as dirt now and barely remember my last name :D

    • @Davidsbeenhere
      @Davidsbeenhere  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Its not weird lol. Respectfully the "They" is the mainstream media and many other videos which often fail to highlight the human and personal stories in their coverage. Sure, Chinatown has been covered before but often it is focused on yum yum food coverage. The They is the content that failed to capture the human stories and elements that I was seeking to capture. Its as simple as that. Sorry I just have gotten a bit of flak for this but I feel like its fairly straightforward. Appreciate your support LordLOC. Also I'll be back to NYC soon to cover more Chinese food of course. Appreciate your edit.

      @@Davidsbeenhere I know what you meant trust me, I was just being sardonic with my stupid jokes lol though to be fair some of the channels I subscribe to do go out of their way to go into the history of these places and talk to the people there as well. • @Davidsbeenhere
      @Davidsbeenhere  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Fair enough, I'm a bit of a jokester myself though through internet text it can be tough to tell sometimes. Definitely there are tons of amazing creators and channels who do some incredible coverage. Many of them are my friends and peers in the YT world! And if anything I'd have liked to delve even further into things. I always want to keep my food angle but I would rather spend a more time talking to locals and understanding the world around me, rather than just stuffing my face. I look to Anthony Bourdain as a huge creative inspiration on that area! I just really want to tell stories about real people and try to impact the world in a positive way. So glad you feel the same, wishing you peace and blessings and a great weekend LordLOC.

    • @LordLOC
      @LordLOC Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@Davidsbeenhere I'm just glad you are showing that there is more to the UK food scene than bangers and mash or beans on toast lol Yes....those are staples and very popular of course. But like the US, the UK is a melting pot of peoples and cuisines and has been for a long time now. The Chinese influence has been huge there (as it is here) along with the Indian influence (I mean the national dish is tikka masala, isn't it?) among many others as you have shown.
      As with music, food is a universal language and shared by everyone. CZcamsrs who show this, channel it, and always try to show the positives in a community or their food, are always a fun time to be sure. Talking to the people who make the food, or run these spots, or just live there and can give you advice, is sort of the whole point of these sorts of videos I think, isn't it? Anyway, I don't want to suck up all of your time responding to my long ass comments all day lol But I said this in one of your Jamaican videos recently - thank you for being so positive and spreading the people and food some of us will never be able to try sadly. :)

I'm a huge fan of my fellow food CZcamsrs, like Mark Wiens, Sonny at Best Ever, Luke Martin, Food Ranger, and even the other travel CZcamsrs like Drew Binsky, Peter Santanello and many others definitely agreed they all show such amazing and thoughtful perspectives on the places they visit. I think thats one thing we can bring to the table thats different from the typical perspective. I do love the Rick Steves and Bourdains of the world though. Probably my two inspirations. Anyway thank you! But stay tuned because I've got a bunch of quintessential British content coming soon, in fact I got access to film with a very special guest.

    London's Chinese population is about 130,000 -Paris is 600,000 (higher than San Francisco). However London's Chinatown is much more central and popular with visitors. Needless to say the majority of both populations do not live in the respective Chinatowns.

    Unfortunately the best have closed or been taken over by other companies or pushed out from rising rents $ London isn’t supporting its Chinatown. Censorship isn’t helping.

    It's pronounced Peeking duck. Even the chinese waiter said peeking duck. You don't always pronounce the words how they look like most Americans do.

    Its a shame most chinese is microwaved and of a poor quality when getting a local takeaway . In London suburbs anyway ! The Four Season at the top of the road is excellent and a bit cheaper than the one on the main drag.

    What kind of service do you get at the four seasons restaurant? OMG, if im treated that way as a customer, i dont care whether they have the best peking duck whatsoever, i will get out immediately. This is not the way you treat a customer!!! The waitress was way too unfriendly, but the guy(boss?) was not better at all. How do you talk to your customer. Its the way how you communicate with customer. If you are in Hong Kong, thats fine. I know how they treat customers but you are in Europe!!!

      Thank you so much for the comment and good to see you Sioux! Really appreciate your years of support. I wanted to just be fair and clarify that the Four Seasons guy was putting on an "act", its sort of part of the whole experience. He was being funny "purposefully" rude, but off camera he was a gentle and kind man. It was all just for fun and there are a few other restaurants in London Chinatown with a similar thing. That said, I do appreciate you looking out! Wishing you a blessed week Sioux8!

    I have been going to the Four Seasons restaurant for 25 years in Chinatown, London. My mom used to love it as well God rest her soul in peace. Management has changed and the food is not as good as it used to be. The last time I had Lobster with ginger and spring onion and duck and rice. It was overpriced and it didn’t taste good at all. I was very disappointed.
