Had a Taycan 4S cross turismo from new, unbelievable car phenomenal performance, fantastic to drive and looked awesome but, real world range was 140 miles. Sold it after 3 months and made money (right time) now I can buy the same car which was £120k+ for around £75k

There's an MG4 X-power for sale, 2023 with just TEN miles on it for £27000, that's £9000 off the sticker price!!! At that rate it'll be free after a week's commuting!!!

As a company car driver the 40% saving in tax makes sense for people going new.. as for used 60k is a lot of money for a nearly out of warranty car.. can see people also going new in PCP so the depreciation will not matter too much if they get a good deal
33% depreciation on a 2 year old car, how far is that away from what non normal cars do? Isn’t that pretty normal? I’ve seen lots of headlines about Taycan’s bombing in price and I wouldn’t mind a 2 year old 4S, but this just looks like normal depreciation to me.
Another great vid JB, thanks. The Merc is bland & from certain angles reminds me of a Honda Accord or Legend (Perhaps I need to go to specsavers again!). The Tesla? Thinking about build quality! Does the bmw come with the information pack as standard? Just to inform other drivers what you are going to do on a roundabout! Porsche or Audi ok but if you can afford any of these you are either earning too much money to care, it's a company car or you are stupid with money! Buy an appreciating classic like a '91 on a 'H' Vauxhall Lotus Carlton for £90k. I will bet you will not lose £25k per year on that! All the best....
All going to fall much more in value as their batteries lose the ability to hold charge.

I will never purchase an EV car but I think you need to get your facts right , batteries are designed to recharge up to 10,000 times with little loss of ability to fully charge ,a little maths equates this to approx 30+years of life so don’t worry about having to purchase new batteries in normal well maintained use there will be no need for most users

I totally agree about Model Y. I loathe Tesla’s one screen for everything - hideous awful and potentially dangerous to use when driving.

I'd definitely buy used for an EV, but I'd want a long warranty on the battery. I want a long warranty on my car anyway though, so I don't see it as much of an issue.
The EQS looks very boring, but not bad so I would be totally happy with that - I'll take it over the grille on the i4 all day 😄 I actually think if I bought a BEV now, an EQE (saloon) with the hyper screen interior would be top of my list, although that's biased by how many long journeys I do. That said, it's a while before I'll be buying an EV! I think 3-5 years before I'd want one and 8-10 before I'm able to get a charger installed...
I would lease a new EV, but buy a nearly new one. Getting a two or three year old gives you some warranty.
An EV vehicle is a disposable vehicle.

One of the biggest inversions of 21st century humanity, in that there's nothing ECO about them. The so called carbon footprint on the batteries alone, is shocking; only then to be fed/recharged by the power stations..? The electric cars of the early 20th were more efficient in many ways, despite their lack of modern day car conveniences...

Yes you are right about the batteries being energy intensive to make, but on the charging from power stations point, this has got much better in the UK. Good news about the UK 2023 figures that we as a nation should be patting ourselves on the back for:
'Electricity from fossil fuels has now fallen by two-thirds (199TWh) since peaking in 2008. Within that total, coal has dropped by 115TWh (97%) and gas by 80TWh (45%). These declines have been caused by the rapid expansion of renewable energy (up six-fold since 2008, some 113TWh) and by lower electricity demand (down 21% since 2008, some 83TWh).'
@@Hali88 The wind turbines don't even return their footprint in production and installation, with a 20 year life span. Also calculations were done some years ago, concluding that if the main European cities reached 25% EVs, they'd be maxed out on power delivery. I simply learned not to trust what "they" tell...
@@just1ncred1ble... If maintained they'll last a lot longer than 20 years, I would think 50, 60, maybe even 100+ years is possible. The power delivery arguments are interesting, I'm not an expert on such things, but what I will say is that humans are very good at adapting to new situations and finding solutions to problems.

Well they are losing money because cars are so heavy and poor to drive and the battery on any electric car loses battery life and range is awful
I guess rich folks who have more money than common sense, and who want to project a false green image to us peasants, can go buy this mad EVs... I absolutely loathe EVs... So seeing so much depreciation is music to my ears 😂. I sooo love my petrol engine cars... Not as fast, but in the real world, who cares?!! Keep pretending these EVs are eco-friendly 😂😂
