    I like the concept of "lowering the friction". My impulsivity leads me to buying fruits and veg with good intentions but my memory and resistance to the prep lead to waste. Definitely need to work on lowering the friction in this process.

      Lowering the friction can be key in managing impulsivity and increasing follow-through. To address the challenge of buying fruits and vegetables with good intentions but facing memory and resistance to prep, try prepping in advance, meal planning, simplifying the process, and making healthy options visually appealing and easily accessible. These strategies can help make it easier to incorporate fruits and vegetables into your routine.

    I very much agree with this advice. Sometimes we just have to give ourselves permission to makes things *do-able*. I've learned over the years to stop beating myself up for sometimes taking the easier path, even though it is sometimes less ideal. Really good video. 👌

      Thank you for your feedback! It's important to be kind to ourselves and find what works best for us in managing our ADHD. Sometimes taking the easier path can actually be the more effective one in the long run.

    I use a wok, fastest way to cook healthy food. No recipes, I make it up as I go. I only keep enough veg for a few days, so it doesn't go to waste. Meats in freezer, in small single-serving zip lock bags. (just have to remember to take them out!)

    More cooking info! I have lately been surviving on junk food.
    About bad food... Buy it in smaller quantities. Or use methods that keep it fresh for longer.

    I once worked for a weathy family who told me that for them, a lot of problems can be solved or time saved by throwing money at it. I was able to translate that attitude onto my life style, which, most of the time is on the edge of making ends meet, by asking myself:what is this (time or money saving) activity costing me?" If the price is too high psychologically or even physically then i don't do it.

    I try to avoid oil because like nuts, it's a calorie trap

    • @HIDDENADHD

      While it's true that oil is calorie-dense, it's important to note that not all fats are created equal. Our bodies need certain types of fats for optimal health, and oils can provide those essential fatty acids. It's also possible to consume a moderate amount of oil while still staying within a healthy calorie range by being mindful of portion sizes and choosing healthier oils such as olive oil or avocado oil. It's all about finding the right balance that works for your individual health and dietary needs.

      @@HIDDENADHD ohh might have a point on that one. i started taking amino acid supplements and they help me more than meds. I sadly can't do nuts though because they are like potato chips, cal dense + i have no control over the portion I eat:)

    • @HIDDENADHD
      @HIDDENADHD  Před rokem +1

      It's great to hear that you found amino acid supplements to be helpful for managing your ADHD symptoms. Each person's experience with treatment can vary, and it's important to find what works best for you. As for nuts, portion control can definitely be challenging, especially if you find them hard to resist. It's always a good idea to find alternative options that work well for you and support your overall well-being. Keep exploring and experimenting to find the strategies and supplements that work best for your unique needs.
