- Ed Sheeran did a surprise support set at The Darkness's show in The Roundhouse, London on Saturday 9th December 2023. Ed also decided to join The Darkness on stage to perform their song Love Is Only a Feeling! It was fantastic. Here is their first rehearsal together backstage in the dressing room before the show starts! The full official live performance will be released this weekend!

Ed would have been 12 when this came out. Great clip guys, makes me remember that even the biggest names in the world are at the end of the day, and in a certain essential way never any bigger than the greats who came before them, because without our teachers and those who've inspired and paved the way for us, it's impossible to say where we'd be or if we would be anywhere at all.

as a live long metal head, that grew up listening to all the florida death metal bands, norwegian black metal bands, and all types of extreme metal bands, I've ALWAYS loved this song. the darkness kicks ass, period.

More like this is a super typical chord progression that is simply easy to jam over for any musician worth their salt. No offense to Ed and co here, they did a super good job. Just that it doesn't take a musical genius to do any of this at all.

Had to do a double take last Saturday, I wasn't expecting to see Ed Sheeran on that stage. But it was absolutely brilliant, thank you so much. Best night I've had in a while, and absolutely one of the best concerts this year for me.

I always love the words to Darkness songs but there’s something wonderful about the lyrics to this one in particular. “An assault my defences systematically failed to withstand” and “The state of elation that this unison of hearts achieved” are so rhythmically perfect that I can never just listen to it once. I feel like that hyena in The Lion King who, when the other one says “Mufassa”, shudders & goes “Do it again!”. 😅 IDKY but it tickles my brain in the best way! 😂 JH is such a brilliant lyricist. Wish he got more recognition for that.

The album he released in May, "Subtract", is awesome! Very folky and beautiful, must be the least mainstream sounding material he's ever released. Only Ed album I've bought
I just wanna say I want to see The Darkness BACK to their former glory. The world is so miserable sometimes. We need the humorous/ridiculous videos, outlandish outfits and fun/energetic music. Bring it BACK!

This was amazing. I have never heard this song before, and it randomly came up and so I clicked on it as it seemed interesting. Great song. But more than that, the collaboration and effortless backstage riffing between these guys is just fun and amazing. Great song for electric and acoustic.
