Once again, I'd like to apologise to Mel C and all fans of the Spice Girls.
Don't apologise mate I wish you had tried it in with her and made a super rock baby as her voice is awesome and yours is even more awesome bro. I hope the darkness will return to Glasgow and maybe Justin I can guitar tech lol it's dry as fk up here fella I had to go back to working for myself 🤪 love that Les Paul tone aswell Justin! Proper rock n roll
We all know where the C stands for...
Never mind Mel bloody C, Some of us are still upset about your Florence and The Machine comments.
Your reviewing was damning with faint praise. Honestly I don’t get how you don’t get her as a song writer or vocalist:
If someone were to maybe criticise Florence’s live performances, I’d get that’cos some of them are shite!
I have no problem with Mel C, she’s got a pretty serious set of pipes on her but being brutally honest , she’s not in the same league as FATM.
Some channels break up the Super Thanks, when they get too lengthy. Just a thought.
All 35 said it's ok.
“Befuddled by trifle” will now be my excuse for acting like a dickhead. Though it may also be a missing Syd Barret song
'I believe in a thing called love' was the opening dance at my wedding. The DJ said it was the first time he had anyone ever use it, and when family and friends joined us on the dancefloor everyone was headbanging along. It was absolutely brilliant.
At our wedding we had Radiohead's "Creep". It amused us.
We used a string quartet version of it at our wedding
Ours was ‘hulkster in heaven’, not a dry eye in the house.
@@Pugwash. That’s a Brilliant “First Dance” 👰🏼♀️🤵🏻♂️and better than most of the awfully schmaltzy tripe🤢 folk come up with and funny too😂🫶🏼💞
@@Bosie24 Well we did leave the wedding ceremony to REM's "It's the end of the world as we know it"
"Thanks Russ .... C U Next Time" 😆
Thanks for making my NYE special Justin, you were awesome.
There is something about watching you on stage, you clearly love what you do and it makes the performance that much more enjoyable to watch and listen to.
We are lucky things to get to listen to you talk about and react to things. Love your channel and will continue to follow as long as you’re making videos!
It was a genuinely lovely high point to see you and Sam rocking out - truly awesome. Thanks for really, REALLY rocking in the New Year in style.
I love hearing you talk about just about anything Justin! You have such a pleasant speaking voice as well as having amazing singing capabilities. Keep doing what you do! ❤
I love the way you breakdown the song, I’ve played guitar for well over 20 years and you break the songs down beautifully for people who may not understand. You have such a quick ear for melody and chords and still give us some personality. We love hearing you talk. ❤
Justin, I was able to watch your Sam Ryder's NYE show performance several days ago, on CZcams. You were brilliant!! Loved the hair flip! I especially enjoyed the performance since it was recorded on the same day that you recorded my "Happy Birthday" Cameo, backstage at the BBC. I want to sincerely thank you for the time and effort that you (and Andy, and the others in the room) put into making such a special Cameo. I cherish it. Thank you, Justin, for all the joy you bring. 🌺
I love how you reflect on yourself - brilliant, many people could learn from you. Very nice channel, keep talking (to us)!!!
A New Years Wish for you Justin is that someday you’ll be able to listen to yourself sing and hear it in the way that we do. You’re a fantastic musician and I enjoy listening to your thoughts and insights here too. Thanks for taking us along on the ride.
"Thanks, Russ. C U Next Time" had me in stitches with that delivery.
Justin you’ll always be a legend mate! Your honestly and breakdowns are what make everyone want to hear your expertise!
Your talking and breaking down the guitar parts is the main reason I listen. Keep it up! Great channel!
I just watched a couple segments after the Taylor Hawkins shows (you were excellent)and enjoy the daily content you provide. I’m definitely here every day to see what you have new for us. Thanks and happy new year.
Brilliant answer to Russ! How you dont just tell people to f off.. Got to see you in London at the Taylor gig and being following you ever since. Just a pleasure to watch someone do what you do with such positivity and obvious love for what you do.
I personally love it when you pause and go into the guitar and smash the solos that they’re doing. It’s so fascinating that you can pick up musical abilities so quick just from hearing it. So insightful too
It's the most exciting part of every video for me, too. Justin's musical talent, knowledge, and ear never cease to impress me!
Yea that’s what sells his channel to me. He just picks up a guitar an knows exactly how to play it

guitarist: “I can see the pattern!” 🎶
us: 😮
If you just want to watch the video you can watch the video, I’ll never understand people who complain about people pausing a video they’re reacting to!
Love this channel, the format is perfect. Thanks Justin.
Heh! I purposely tune "IN" for the pauses, breakdowns...and of course, to hear you talk!
Not to mention the everlasting beauty of the theme song, which always tickles my tingle.
Quality show, every time!

I could listen to Justin talk about absolutely anything. I think he’s got a great perspective on many topics besides music. These videos are a daily treat and I never know what I’m going to learning.
Much love from a proud subscriber ❤️
I can do too! It’s comforting 😂
Same here, the darkness ain't really my thing, I'm here because I love this guy's character (although that being said I've started to like them more after watching justin)
Is the name Darkness ironic? Because they ain't that dark, more like Freddie Mercuries tool after a weekend and Sam Ryder sounds like Chris de Burgh.
I absolutely loved that performance!!! ❤❤❤
I was terrified when I saw the title - I thought you were going to say Sam Ryder had me fooled all this time, and that you weren’t really having a blast during the performance I loved so much - I’m so relieved! You’re two of the best vocalists of all time, imo
I know..they reel you in!!
Love listening to you talk 😂that’s why I subscribed. You handled that comment very nicely 😊
Thanks Justin, I enjoy these episodes aswell, they make me smile. All your youtube posts cheer me up, thanks buddy. One of the first gigs we went to after lockdown was yours when you were supported by Massive Wagons. A fantastic night.
You are a top bloke! I teach music to 6th formers at a school in Devon, and we watch your channel, to give them an 'authentic' insight into the Music World. Thanks 🎸
“See you next time Russ” nice one Justin, this really made me chuckle.
Masterful wasn’t it!
It helps to watch the "official" music video first, then go back and watch Justin's reaction. Thank you, Justin, you've introduced me to many interesting songs that I'd never have heard otherwise.
Gotta love the Russ's of the world. 😉
Russ is a knobhead
@@Cynthiabecker24 At the very least, we have to tolerate the Russ's of the world... we'll never get away from them. 🤣
What a freaking treat it was to have you welcome us to a brand new year. Best holiday surprise ever😊😊 the puppy was good but would have been nice to see a bit more of you...Just saying...thanks Justin awesome performance as always♥️♥️♥️you light up my life😊😊😊
We're lucky to have a channel like yours, !!you''re intelligent, charming, ironic and very very gentleman..love your voice and your guitar... still young to say you're getting old....you're a huge cool....
Justin, everyone should learn to answer negative comments as well as you did. You just gave a clinic on emotional intelligence and class. Bravo!
I've been enjoying these podcasts. I found yours through the Rick Beato interview. Love his too. Regarding the 'listening to your own voice' comment, occasionally I have opened another window to watch the song being commented/reacted to, if I'm unfamiliar with it. However, your reactions are totally entertaining and very spot-on. And also, breaking out the guitar to deconstruct/analyze is really cool. You have a great ear. I'm also impressed by the Jeff Back pickless playing. Is that a new thing for your electric playing as well?
Thanks, and congratulations on reaching 330K subscribers ✨As you say, Nice one.
Have a great year! Looking forward to seeing this channel grow and build out. Maybe some backstage mini-interviews? Or meet the parents sorta stuff. I'd like to see a rig-rundown of your band's gear. Always interesting to hear the music industry nitty-gritty.
There are The Darkness rig rundowns on YT by Justin, Dan, and Frankie. And they're hilarious!
The whistle definitely needs to become a regular feature of the outro! 😁 Also, I don’t care how long that list of super-chats thank you’s is, its always a thrill to hear you read my username! 😅 Sad, I know, but it gives me warm fuzzies & makes me happy! So thank you for reading them all out Justin! 🥰
Justin keep talking!!! This is the most informative and entertaining platform on CZcams!!! Love the show!!
I love the way you do this and listen to your take of the song and how you break it down
damn i remember watching this channel when it had 11k subscribers, now almost 400k! Justin the man with quality content👌🤘
Thank you for the response, kind sir! Glad you enjoyed yourself 🤭💖
I have only recently found your channel and I love it. I was unaware how cool and interesting you are. You would be the ultimate dinner party guest.
Really enjoying your channel Justin, my wife and myself had the pleasure of seeing the Darkness at Belladrum festival a few years ago, and you guys by far are the best band I’ve seen live. You had great banter with the crowd. My wife doesn’t even really like rock, but she absolutely loved it. Keep doing your thang.
Worship ❤
Never stop being you ! Love how you respond to the negatives . Such a great guy glad I found this channel .
The grace and subtle digs in response to fairly rude comments is great
Justin, lovely to listen to you.
I'm sorry never heard of you.
But lots of fun for me to catch up.
Your an interesting man.
Penny x
Enjoy the channel., love your commentary, really love the insight you have to offer as an accomplished musician!
Thank you!
Maybe sometime, you can break down some of your own music and how you might have made it, or even with the experience you've acquired, made it different?
Some of your guitars are just incredible sounding as well!
Luv your “waffling”. Please keep it up. 1 of 330k subscribers 😉
Just watched you play with Sam Ryder, looked like so much fun. Respect for the cheeky bum squeeze at the end! Hehehe!
I was so surprised and excited to see Justin on the new years eve performance LOL. I didn't expect it, but I enjoyed it!
Great content as always… and fantastic Zenith you’re wearing!
I love this channel. Back in the mid 70's when I was a young ankle biter, there was something called Rock School on BBC2. People would talk about the way a song was composed musically, how it worked and how the lyrics fitted in. This channel is very similar and it's lovely to hear someone you respect as an artist exploring the music. This channel is glorious and keep up the good work fella!
I remember Rock school...wouldn't wait to see it every week especially when they covered how to play Heavy Rock
@@dannymcmince The drummer was phenomenal, he ended up in Black Sabbath. The bass player was a well known session guy and the lady guitarist was/is a respected jazzer. It all seemed a bit haphazard though, they went from the basics of tuning a guitar to reading charts in about 2 hours...
@@Veaseify So true... thanks Steve
It's called CZcams, not MeTube. 😄 We're here for the shared interests and connection. It's actually very relaxing to hear you talk, Justin. 💓
ALL 👍👍thxs for riding again Justin

Luv your channel Justin your observations are interesting and relevant. Keep it coming. Xx
Justin, I love to listen to you talk, or sing, about anything. And I love the deep, kind, funny, intelligent man you are. ♥♥♥
Thank you so much! x
You make my world better. Hugs. Unhappy people make hurtful comments due to their own shortcomings and low self esteem.
Love your work man. Would be great to hear some new music from you soon. Best wishes.
Love that you gave the super thanks shout out.
I loved seeing Justin on the NYE show it was fantastic
I simply love you. You’re my icon! Please keep on being ICONIC till you’re on your deathbed xx
My county kin, and fellow twiddler, I feel great joy watching your informed wafflings. Thank you!
Love listening to your musical thoughts and insights. A refreshing breath of fresh artistic air, with no pretence and great humour.
So, a bit left field, could you talk about your watch collection? Always notice you have a timepiece on and would like to know more. Thanks for the channel. Bravo. 👏🏼👏🏼
I have to agree - music IS the best art! It's far more accessible to everyone's appreciation and life enhancement than any other form of art. I don't think I've ever heard it said before, but I think you're absolutely right.
Dear Russ,
I'm suscribed to listen HIM talk, otherwise I wouldn't.
x
Thanks Justin, I enjoy these episodes aswell, they make me smile. All your youtube posts cheer me up, thanks buddy. One of the first gigs we went to after lockdown was you
Thanx mate! Your attitude and sense of humor make your videos about music fun, funny, and interesting. Much appreciated!
Hi justin! Question for comments day: when did you get comfortable playing guitar solos live? I've (long overdue) started playing in a band and although I can impress myself and several individuals from the privicy of my room, I seem to run out of ideas on stage when improvising. Cheers and love the channel. Never change!
How do you only have 330k subs? You should have millions by now. You're so good at this!
He's only had the channel just over a year so he's actually grown ridiculously fast. I absolutely agree though, he'll probably hit a million by next year.
@@ThePsychedelicCinema thanks 👍 he should have a podcast and dj on some station.
I've been a subscriber since around 25k subs and it's grown 300k in a year.
I have 358, minus the k haha 😂
I for one love hearing your interpretation of various musical things, I don't always agree, but I enjoy hearing your opinion.
Enjoyable as usual Justin...and just for clarification, usual is very enjoyable. Love the little verbal asides.
Happy New Year old boy.
good on you, sir. an across the board thumbs up for how you do what you do. makes me wish we were neighbors ...
Something very heartwarming about 2 people rekindling a friendship after something quite unimportant.
😂
Love yr show. Keep up with the gd work! 🎶🔥
Keep it going Justin, sending Love your way buddy, Happy New Year m8.
Happy new year Justin and friends. Have a great year.
Wish the same to you!
Love this guy's sense of humor, subtle and elegant.
I know next to nothing about music but I am enjoying listening because of your quick wit. I know that you are not doing this for me but it is nice that you let me listen to your waffle to yourself.
I don’t think this has ever happened to me but upon discovering the first video of yours that was recommended to me I almost immediately subscribed. We obviously love hearing you talk! One of the most charismatic personalities I think I’ve ever come across, this channel is my new safe space. Sending love from seattle.
Yes, it’s not a listening party! And we’re here because we like the host and format. JH isn’t creating his subscribers, the subscribers are people who like what this is.
He might as well have asked “why do people find rockstars interesting?” And maybe he just doesn’t have a clue how CZcams and things like podcasts work…you seek channels and/or shows out because of the opinions of the people that host said shows. Some you like, some you don’t…it’s a matter of personal taste. That’s the whole point. Don’t like it? Either find one you do or find something else to do. It blows me away he’s had so many years to figure this out now and still doesn’t grasp the concept.
As a side note to NYE (which was fantastic) I would also like to just commend you on looking simply marvellous in that jumpsuit. Mothers across the land were deeply appreciative.
🤣
Keep talking. I don't have a shit-ton of musical ability and as a novice lyricist, I really enjoy watching the breakdown's piece by piece because I'm fascinated by the way songs are put together.
As a non-musician myself, I'm interested in your opinion as a muso and a fan, that's why we subscribe.
A guy I worked with wore some tight flares ONCE for work in 2006
.. and the nicname "Hawkins" has stuck since.
I absolutely ADORE you Justin. I am so happy to have found your channel. I'm catching up on past episodes I've missed. I loved your voice back in the day , and it is STILL as amazing ,if not more so, than it was 20 years ago. I'm so glad you are taking care of yourself, it really shows! I'd love to know your opinions on Pink Floyd? As a struggling singer/songwriter , I sing in a Tribute band in Memphis, TN. and I love covering " Great Gig In the Sky" . What a fun vocal work out! You are probably one of the few men that could cover Clare Torry's vocals on that song. Thank you for not becoming that sad cliche of the rockstar who burnt himself out and wasted his talent! BRAVO JUSTIN!
Haha! The end was hilarious!
Well done.
Cheers.
🍻
My 5 year old & I have just been singing along to you in the car. He’s a big fan of ‘Friday Night’ ❤️
That is adorable!
Never stop talking dude. It's therapy for us and you.
Congrats on the big 41 ( comment weeks) love the channel. Cheers!
I was listening to you read the comment from the guy who disses you. it made me laugh. My personal taste in music is more Jazz, progressive and also folk rock. So though I enjoy it when I hear your music and it's very clear you are very good at what you do, your not the music I normally put on to listen to.
But I also love your rides again channel. You are clearly knowledgeable about composition and music and I think you're relatively humble for a musician (I mean we are all self absorbed aren't we?) and you have helped me have an appreciation for some of the artists I may not really like too much. And you have also turned me onto some bands I may never have known about without your channel. keep it up!
The Darkness and your channel is just growing so much on me nowadays bro
They’re really growing on you, (or are you growing on them)?
How can this dude be so entertaining and brilliant?
Great video man
Like the format
Peas and love
I love this channel. It’s extremely funny and informative in equal measures.
I worked in security for 20+ years including concert security. I remember working a Darkness concert at the BIC in Bournemouth and the whole band and crew were lovely people...the highlight of the concert was the guitarist going amongst the crowd playing whilst sitting on my fellow bouncer's shoulders. We wouldn't have done that if the band weren't such nice people...would've probably dumped him on his ass
I didn’t have a clue who he was…ty for saying who he was…🤣🤣🥰
My apologies brother i never realised quite how good a guitarist and musician you are until I started watching your videos a few weeks back, respect to you ❤
Hi Justin, I'm late for the party as I have recently discovered The Darkness, through watching your fabulous channel. I was reflecting on your 'Bunns' comment and when watching I believe in a thing called love, which I can sing (hit me up!). Imagine my disappointment when your 'Bunns' were blurred out in the vid. I'm gutted! I love you BTW.
Another brilliant video Justin!
Appreciate all the content. Thank you so much. You handle shit-talk and criticism very well, sir. Everybody be safe and take care!! 🙏
For an example of lyrics carrying the music , i'd cite early Billy Bragg. Simple electric guitar chords, but he had a lot of important stuff to say!
Did I just imagine your notification for a livestream? Came back as soon as I could, hoping to join & can find no sign of it. What happened?? Am I cracking up?? 😅
Love the cast! Cheers from Waterford, Michigan US.
To be frank, The Darkness wasn't my cup of tea back in the day and I really don't know how I've stumbled on this channel. In saying that, I love the videos and have discovered your one hell of a musician. Watching your breakdowns and thoughts on things are fascinating, and I have a new found appreciation for The Darkness to boot!
Saaaaaaame
