- There are lots of different kinds of hunting ammo on the market and we choose the ones we use for various reasons, but the ammo we choose might just say a lot about us as hunters!

I'm hunting small game with an air rifle what can you do for me
What about hand loading?
What about Hornady Black??
Love the video but I'm just saying what If one type is more accurate then another out of your gun like the cheap stuff i have seen it and I believe in getting the best accuracy possible
Anytime I'm trying to decide what ammo to buy I usually ask myself "how would it feel if I got shot by this?" And then I just buy whatever is cheapest
Same I usually go for whatever is cheapest so I tend to only buy Winchester super X and federal power point.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 damn bro.
Hornady whitetail has put down each of mine for the last 5 years consistently
Same
Yes very good I can’t find it anymore tho
Love that stuff. Seen 2 elks and a moose harvested this year with Hornady whitetail in 6.5 Creedmoor (129 grain). It’s great ammo….
Good because i just bought some haha
@pajamatime5750 how many yards?
The Hornandy LeveRovolution part was a bit personal lol
Yeh. What's wrong with lever actions?
@@Mark-uq9km hell i shoot out my single shot 30-30
Yeah, it's only the guys who hunt out west that put down a good 30-30. A lever-action is about as perfect a hunting rifle as you can get for hunting in the thick, eastern forests.
@Cloudstrife112233 Another consideration is the Remington 760 or 7600 pump rifle that can handle high-pressure and high BC bullets. Plus, the carbine version is handy in thick cover. Follow-up shots are faster than the lever action, too. I have lever actions and a 7600 in .308 Win and I love it. It was chambered in .270 Win, .308 Win, .35 Rem, .30-06 Springfield and .35 Whelen. It's accurate, too. I'd love for Remington to bring it back.
Lever actions are my favorite, I just love the way they feel and I can work a lever a little faster than I can a bolt.
I hunt with incendiary 50 BMG rounds. I'm looking to take a deer down and the other 5 standing behind it lol.
Looking to take it down? Already half cooked before you skin it?
@@exothermal.sprocket lol 😆
You know, in Georgia I can take 10 does and 2 bucks per season so I could legally do this...
used my surplus m3 bmg for hunting cause i can smell the burning hair (i know what i typed)
Federal fusion is all I ever needed
Laughs in nosler partitions
Damn buddy we’re shooting whitetail not elk
@@msquared9605 Good thing they open up more rapidly than about any other bullet.
Us Barnes users can’t hear you up here.
Plus your too busy trailing to care
@@Hunting-jr1mp sounds like something a Core Lokt user would say
@@benjohnson3041 Partition is still king inside 300
@@Hunting-jr1mp100% agree 👍🏿
Accubond and or long range. AB/ ABLR ?
Norma whitetail puts them down son
Based. Norma is GOAT.
Remington CoreLokt: The deadliest mushroom in the woods
And it performs almost identical to the Fusion, but it’s cheaper. Core lokt will DESTROY meat though…
It's always done the job for me, and most of my guns love it too
If you buy Norma you're a viking with good judgement and always have a backpack with coffee, snacks and collapsable chair when out hunting.
Winchester Deer Season XP. The best I’ve found.
I've had them really tear up meat.
@@rikertvonfulton16
Dont shoot 'em in the meat ;-)
I’d like to be a gentleman and a scholar🙋🏾♂️
Alas we all would
@@masonleather 😂
@@masonleather love the videos man keep moving foward🔥🔥🔥
Hornady 35 Rem lever evolution does a damn good job on the 4 I’ve killed with it
I will literally just get whatever is cheapest on the shelf
You’re to preoccupied with what your hunting equipment says about it. Just hunt and follow the rules
Haven't fired a factory round in my hunting rifles since the 70's. Current hunting load used self-cast bullets and home made black powder in my Marlin .45-70.
Want a cookie grandpa?
@@StealthTRD Want a participation trophy, millineal?
@lifted_above1216 😭dang girl you had a nice comeback..congratulations.
@@StealthTRD That means this guy will probably have ammo when everyone else runs out.
I use Winchester power points for my .308, seems to shoot better with it than a few other brands that I've shot. And I prefer to use both Federal power Shok and Federal Fusion with my 30-30.
The regular blue box federal power shok is the most accurate factory load in my .308.
Power point shoots better than a lot of expensive loads out of my ar10. I used 180s and it puts a hurting on em
I feel attacked
The guy using Barnaul ammo
Barnaul is really accurate stuff in 7.62x39.
I shoot whatever the fuck they have in the store. As long as it’s not Remington ammo. I’ve shot Federal Fusion, Winchester Super X, and Hornady American Whitetail.
Well, you've shot a product that's been produced by the same company that makes Remington, that now is up for sale.
Federal, Remington, CCI-Speer, Hevi-Shot is products of Vista Outdoors, which is entertaining an offer from Checz Group for purchase. Here recently, Colt-CZ Group has made an offer as well. Wish these names would stay here in the USA.
@@cdismore3251 CCI ammunition is made in Lewiston Idaho, Federal ammunition is made in Anoka Minnesota, Hevi Shot ammunition is made in Oregon, and Remington ammunition is made in Lonole Arkansas. They’re made hundreds of miles apart in completely different factories that are ran by different people. They’re not the same product. That’s very evident considering the fact that Federal and Remington is completely fucking garbage compared to Hevi Shot and CCI.
Your luck and your rifle isn’t everybody’s..
Well said!!!👍
Too funny 😂 (Norma Whitetail "I resemble that remark!")
Federal fusion 30-06 180 gr and .270 WSM 130 gr has never let me down. Best store bought amo hands down
Toyota’s 3UR-FE (5.7) is a noisy engine, somewhat resembling a diesel.
"Sometimes", your actually pretty funny-some times
If you’re shooting store bought bullets you’re already doing it wrong..
Harvested many a animal with store bought 🤷♂️
Shot more deer with store bought then you've ever seen
Harvested all mine with rounds I loaded myself for 20 years
Bro, sorry, I'm in college and broke. I don't have time or money to reload
@brett9382 I reloaded all the way through college you have to make time and try garage sales for reloading equipment that's where I got the majority of mine
My dad bought core lokt for the longest time so I guess I was just raised in it lol. Works for me, but its always interesting to see other rounds!
After you insulted everybody, I bought my leather from Sportsmans guide!
I like to stack my magazine with a smattering of all of those, just so I can have all the bases covered…it’s weird though my 308 doesn’t seem to like to feed the 30-30 LEVERevolution very well 😂😉
Remington cor lock😂 hell yeah
When Kygunco had the Federal premium 150 grain Nosler Partitions on a major discount I bought the entire stack they had on the shelf! It was about seven years ago now the Ruger No. 1 seams to love them and so does the deer. Ive not heard a single complaint from any of them!
Federal fusions in my 300 win mag not only shoot the best I’ve found, they have crazy retained weight and a ton of expansion
I miss the Nosler Custom. But I hand load
I use hornedy black .308 with the 168gr AMAX bullet. Its been my go to round for the last 3 years and never fails me though the furthest shot on a deer ive taken is just about 200 yards.
should see the hole the 168 Amax puts in a coyote lol.. it's a good round for sure!
Excellent! :-)
Winchester deer season here. Super cheap and super effective at short range. 150gr 30-06. Definitely not match ammo. Wouldnt want to use it farther than 150yd from my rifle.
I wish I could find it “super cheap” around me.
@@thomasliptrott3834 it’s all relative lol I think the last time I bought it I paid 1.20$ per round but it beats 2.50$ per round like some premium loads.
Here's what you can make for me, an intelligent video.
HA didn't mention winchester deer season xp, because it's amazing
I feel surprisingly validated by this… federal fusion all day! Hornady Outfitter ammo is pretty good. It shot about a 1/2 moa better than my federal fusion out of my rifle but it’s very very expensive.
PERFECTLY STATED!! Only the truly experienced will understand this
No I don’t like bolts I like pump rifles in 35rem and 3030 lever action
Kinda awesome how accurate this is.
Remington core locked has always performed well for me.
😍 Been using Fusion for 15 years. I use .308 Win and 150 grain for deer, coyote, wolf and 180 grain for elk, moose and black bear. I'm Canadian and our woods are thick, I've never had to shoot over 200 yards. Immediate expansion, near perfect weight retention and deep penetration for double lung shots. I think it's the perfect bullet.
I use Federal slugs but Remington for my 30-06 ammo. Have had good luck with both.
My kill count says more than my ammo or weapon..
Ruger precision loves slinging anything into any target 😏
That’s funny. Fusion is about the only thing my 7 REM mag won’t shoot
Ive become a fusion man myself over the years. They open up really good at close range ware i hunt in timber. Accuracy and hard hitting and decent $ . Cant go wrong
Come on man you cant just roast all the Federal Blue Box users :(
I use it too 💯
What about hornady eldx? You burned me on fiocchi lol. I always thought it was good ammo. Still have a few boxes to burn before I switch to the eldx
Horandy Brass with 300gr HP max charge imr 4198 out of the 45-70
Remington Brass witha 180gr Barnes TSX with 43gr LEVER-evolution powder in the 35 REM..
Hornady brass with 190gr Nosler Accubond LR with 81gr RL26 in the 300 PRC
What dose that say about me 😂😂
You’re right again. So, for anyone that didn’t understand the recommendation.. I hunt with Norma Deer Season in 140 grain 6.5 creedmoor. Because, because after trying everything I could get my hands on, the Norma was consistently my best groups at every range. So, try them all… it’s the only way to know.
Dude spot on
🤣👌🏼
Took my Smith model 25 out last season, ammo was a cast pentagonal hollow point over a max charge of true blue.
I guess reloaders aren’t well represented enough to have stereotypes :(
As a federal fusion hunter this is an absolute win
The precision hunters work every time for me no tracking required.
Just recently started hunting and federal fusion is what I use. I haven’t had to track one yet lol.
Shooting handloaded Nosler Accubonds. Whats that say about me?
I like Federal fusion and Norman Whitetail thank you.
I use federal blue box its cheap and abundant
Oh dang, i guess I am living in a fantasy world
Dang. I have a mixture of all of these in my personal armory.
If you aren't shooting your own pissing hot handloads, you're just playing games.
I find the cheaper rifles like the cheaper blue box feds, at least my Savages do anyway. Shoot straighter than the fusion from my experience.
Federal Premium Terminal Ascent, or Nosler Accubonds. Norma ammo impressed me as well but hand loads are always the best.
Hand spun .50 BMG I like tungsten. Copper plate and finish cut/polish, after. It just keeps going, and going, and going…
Remington. Best affordable ammo. Only clown pay over 25 a box. If you’re any shot is less then 100-150 yards. This has been killing deer for decades
Blue box Mac and cheese = Federal blue box in the budget. I can’t give up bougie food for expensive ammo..😂
Haha. Remington Core-lokt have probably taken more deer than all the others combined in this country. Just shave the excess lead off the tip for added consistency and you’re golden if you hunt woods and not shooting past 300 yards.
Federal premium for any other application or out west.
I’ve shot with match bullets for the last 10 years from distance between 1-500 yards with a 6.5 cm and 223 rem they’ve all taken dirt naps and made good tacos burgers steaks fajitas stew and chili the most one ever went was 10 yards and he was already amped up shot him fighting another buck if you choose a heavy for caliber match bullet 130 grains + (for the 6.5 168+ for 308 69+ for 223so on and so forth) they do much better than bonded bullets IMHO the only thing I will say is stick with the plastic tipped bullets or the Berger bullets because the regular open tips on a Sierra for whatever reason don’t open, expand or upset reliably bergers do I’m assuming the jacket is thicker even the Sierra Tipped Match Kings do a very great job
Yes I wear my BDU's from when I was active duty! 😄 And I'm packing the Walmart Special Winchester Super X! 🤣
Duuude, i still have yet to use Winchester extreme point in 30-06 Springfield on a deer to see the efficiency it does. Sadly, there isn't that much sitka blacktail deer bucks to go after because of outsiders who are not from the village of Old Harbor but instead they pay the lodges to take them out in which in reality doesn't benefit anything for the village but only the hunting lodges.
I've never been called a scholar or a Gentlemen but I've been using the past 2 seasons 300 blackout Fusion by federal and it's good stuff granted my further shot was only 80 yd with it but I have not had a deer go anymore than about 15 yd. Shot placement with any other bullet is important too but at 300 black out in the ar platform easy to carry through the woods.
If I'm going to shoot a deer I shoot with Angel fire ballistic tip 168 grain 308 rifle in other words 7.62 x 51 mm NATO round That right there will have enough knock down power to do anything or anything I need to do I stick with 168 grain ballistic tip Angel fire If you're going to drop something deal with a ballistic tip
The hornady precision Hunter called me out hard core I’m known for shooting several hundred yards away even if I only can hit the neck because he’s between 2 trees
Hornady whitetail and Norma whitetail can't be beat. 😊
I happen to love my 30-30 and I’ve been wanting to try some leverlution out
Federal fusion for the win! Seriously, though, federal fusion has shot extremely well out of both my 308 rifles and my 6.5 prc
180 grain federal fusion in 30-06 has some serious penetration power my body has oxygen tank bells he made, and the only thing that made it through both sides is 30-06 armor piercing the federal fusion is the only round in that caliber so far is that went through the front and 80% through the back anything else in 30-06 goes through one side and barely dents the back
Hornady precision here accurate af
Here in Florida i run 75gr speer gold dot. It's accurate, and puts them down quickly.
My choice in ammo depends on the gun I'm using. Love fusions in 270wsm. shot 1 deer with them in 26-06, last time. Now Hornaday in 25-06. Federal in my 7mms and 375h&h. Bullets react differently in different calibers
The winchester super x is unbelievably true 🤣💀 it was my go to for my 350 legend until Underwood started making some
Guess I’m the exception since I handload and use a 264mag/156gr Bergers/krieger 1:8.5 twist/26” barrel. Woods rifle a 356 Winchester/win 94 big bore and handloads using Speer 180gr hot-cor.
I’ve been rocking with underwood ammo for a while now
I will take federal power shock softpoints over anything but I'm not shooting past 100 yards ware I hunt.. and the round nose point gets threw the brush better
That winchester model 70 featherweight at the end looks exactly like mine
Me who grew up hunting with core lokt and made to switch to fusion this is ri accurate
I shoot federal fusion because it was the only bonded bullet I could find at my local store..
What about Belgian 7.62x54R? Jokes, that's fmj.
Me: looking lovingly at all my Sierra nad Nosler boxes.
Hornady American Gunner 140 grain ammunition 6.5 creedmoor puts a crater in any deer even outstanding for bear
I use the Precision Hunter 143 grain ELD-X lol
That norma one was so spot on i had to pause and rewind then write this comment
💯
@@masonleather ooh also I hunt with an M1 Garand.
me with 4 different brands of ammo for my 30-06. 3 different for my 30-30 and 2 different for my 308
Fusion is amazing
I hunt with whatever is cheapest or available. In my world, and the world of most people I know, economy is king and I take realistic shots.
