  • Do Unicorns exist? Can pigs actually fly? And has Power Acoustik ever created a amplifier that is accurately rated? I got a lot of people who messaged me after the Power Acoustik RZR1-2300D video and told me it looked exactly like the RZR1-2500D from Walmart they bought that is rated at 650W RMS @ 2ohms... meaning if they ARE the same amp... than this would be a accurately rated amp from Power Acoustik based on the 2300D test conducted months ago.... In this Quickie series video we will take a look at this $69 amp from Walmart and see once and for all if Power Acoustik has built a accurately rated amplifier....

Say it ain't so! Go Epsilon!! Now, correct the ratings on the other amps and we will count this as a total win! Actually, if you think about it, this should be the norm, not the exception. The fact many companies are still misleading consumers with ratings is appalling. However, this is a step in the right direction, now let's keep their feet to the fire and long for the day when all companies rate amplifiers accurately...

I'm sorry but 95 bucks for a 600w certified amp is a steal, you don't have to overrate it to get my attention. People would have more respect for the brand, and wouldn't necessarily care where it's made. Just my two cents, though.

I have a hifonics amp rated at 1900watts at 1ohm. That's worth $370 but I got a at Fry's for $160. Fry's has great deals I didn't even realize. I bought the same exact amp online and needed some ferrules went to Fry's and seen the same amp. Lol bought it and sent the other one back. I just picked up one of these. My old amp had kicked the bucket and I figured I'd run to Wally World and see if they had anything cheap in stock (pretty much the only place local to get an amp on quick notice), just to get a little sound back in the car. This was the ONLY amp in the store, and they only had one in stock. So I snatched it up, thinking that I'd use it for troubleshooting just to see if it really was my old amp dying or something else with the system. I did a quick and dirty swap, got everything hooked up and powered on. And I was immediately blown away. I'm running an Audiopipe TXX-BD2-10 10" sub in a ported box (1200peak/600rms), and this amp works that sub. Way better than my old amp, and it sounds better too. I didn't expect much at all, I assumed it had bloated ratings like pretty much any other amp you'd find at the Wall o' Mart. Very pleasantly surprised. I thought I'd use it to troubleshoot, return it, and then get something better later. Nope, I'm keeping it. It was more expensive though, don't know if it's the normal price or slightly inflated price because of the pandemic, but I paid just under $100 for it.

I'm only running it 4 ohm since installed today and it's plenty powerful but I'll still try it at 2 ohm for fun. I would like to see a 1 ohm dyno test done on the power acoustik razor 2500d please also my pioneer premier 720 is a beast I'd also love to see it get the dyno , I'm sure it's underrated for watts and mono ohm load (they are 2 ohm stable in mono all day but rated only 4 ohm mono in listed specs) , I love it like a old fosgate . Thanks again for all your videos , Very helpful ! Respect from Tacoma Wa.

@@charleshopper904 it really depends on which series because kicker has some funky powerful subs but I'd say it would do a great job on any brand 1000watt peak subs. my rz1-2500, I'm running 2 planet audio 15 inch subs in a custom 1.9 cu.ft. per chamber and 6" ports tuned @33hz Wired @2ohm and it BANGS !! enclosure is very important , air space, sealed, ported, bandpass, port tuning etc. All affect sub performance ,frequency response and power needs differently. Hey man. Luv and appreciate u and D’s vids! Been following many years now. …I still haven’t seen a better buy (which I bought) than the RXD-T2 for budget amps. The crossover sucks arse but it put it downhill from at least just a reasonably ok 4 with output and it doesn’t matter. It rocks. Best Buy I’ve seen. Gonna put it in my sons truck soon.
I’m all tol Mosconi Amps and Morel’s best above subs which are IA Carbon 12’s :)))) Very sq system.
But on a budget…I’d put that Rockville against anything, dollar for dollar. I don’t get why it hasn’t been more popular. The crossover is definitely a Chinese pos but the amp itself puts out more power than my fancy stuff.

Old video but I remember burping my Boss whatever-the-crap mono sub amp about a decade ago. About 10 years ago with a lot of preamp gain in front of it's onboard, I was amazed that I was able to burp it at around just over 900 watts RMS. Safe thermal operating parameters was about half that so it was still a monster. At the time, I had a 2nd series Power Acoustik Mofo 15 before they nosedived the model line. *Unfortunately for me a couple years later, the day came when I was using my 10.1" tablet, and with what seemed a moderate boost in output took only 30 seconds to scorch half the coil!*
It didn't kill it, just caused enough thermal damage so the cone would only throw crooked, sound retched, and I was screwed. PA had discontinued the reconing kits and after searching off and on for a couple years, it was replaced to collect dust. *Some of these "junk" amps are actually very good designs, and I know I'm oddly an electrical/electronics engineer by formal education, but obviously the specs are still typically a lie.*
The Boss, which I still have going strong, is surprisingly a good Class-A/B design. Once again unfortunately for it's 4-channel sister from the same model line, some of the transistors burned out. *I replaced them.* Then another set burned out!
When at this point, buying a new amp is a much wiser path. Replacing all the transistors would have been 80% of the cost to buy the same model new.

I ran a 12 W6v2 on it for a few months sounded good at first. Put it away, less than half a year later hooked it up same way exactly and now it goes into protect at f****ng 2 ohm with hardly anything turned up........JL amps are my go to now, especially their JD series.(If you know sh** AudioControl is King right now as far as amps go, but with 5 kids, and limited bread, I'll keep dreaming) No confusing, inflated, doctor'd, or multiplied by this much, blah blah blah numbers on the power ratings. The only number they put on that f***ing box is truly no bull**it what the amp does at 2ohm straight up and down. Plus if you can't tell from fuse size what an amps power is, you shouldnt even be near this field, especially if you are installing....... JL amps run cleaner, sound better, and are more rugged and reliable. Take it from me, I have owned more amp brands than I can count. This cheap pos amp makes my W6v2 sound muffled and muddied the f*** up (I know how to set gains, most likely you do not), has a disappointing or just extremely tiny window of dynamic headroom, little room for adjustment of anything, terrible gain overlap at best, with a little induced whine or noise too. Cheaply made.......and only 8 guage power inputs? Really? So much for getting this thing adequate juice...... Jacka**es. So Now, people with brains are all relegated to buy f****** amp imput reducers, wait do they come with this amp? 😂 that was a joke...unless you're a complete moron and jam wiring wherever and DGAF with half your wire strand count fraying about and arching all over the place ready to start a fire in your vehicle.....Overall: very disappointed........Im getting the JD/1000. .....This way I dont have to be upset that my dumb a** waisted my hard earned bread on sub par s**t hole amps anymore.......Learned my lesson on this one. My 250/1 with my 12"W1v2 sounded better n hit way harder and tighter than this pos hooked up to my beastly 12"W6v2........what's that tell you......I been in the car audio game since 96. I aint just some jack ass postin this S*** up on here for my health, and I dont hate just to hate, that's a female trait. Take my advice or leave it

My Power Acoustik drives two 10" competition subs and a 12" sub at 2 ohms like an amp three times the price does and stays cool. I'm surprised its that good for being bought at Walmart.
