Very useful! Thank you a lot!
Thanks for this video! Easy to see what is actually happens as the fork moves and how the different chambers interact and graphically showing the effect of different pressures. Love the Ohlins DH 38 M.1 forks on my Intense Tazer MX Pro....super plush with great bottoming resistance.
Hello, the fork on my mx pro states 105/205 for my weight but when I put it at that the fork is very hard to move
@@AnthonyM1 I also run lower than recommended pressures for my weight. The ramp up is for bottoming so leave that alone and try dropping the upper chamber pressure (maybe 105 down to 85) just to see if it makes it better - then you know the direction to go.
@@mxengineer1 I thought 105 in the ramp up and 205 in the main was a tad off per the sticker on the fork. I have 105 in the ramp and 100 in the main and will work on the sag when I get some extra hands to help. BTW, I am 60 and love this bike
Seems intimidating compared to other forks I have had in the past. This is one step to better understanding it.
Manitou also has a 3 chamber system (IRT) and I think the Manitou system is better because it allows to have lower initial air pressures than Öhlins, resulting in a more linear beginning stroke and less friction at the air seals. Only specific downside to this 3-chamber design is that smaller PSI changes result in a bigger difference in ride feel, requiring a more careful and precise use of the shock pump.
I've always wanted to try Ohlins suspension. It seems like the top bikes have them. I think my next bike will have Ohlins! I also love how pretty the shocks look!
I have a öhlins 38 m.2 and i have too say !! Its LEEEEGEND
I can't find any information on how to adjust the negative chamber spacers. I hear it is simple but no detail on how.. Can anyone point me to instructions.
That's what I'm looking for as well.
@@JTDPM et yourself the service manual, that shows how to disassemble. Briefly, set the fork up close to horizontal to not lose fluid, remove all air, remove nut at bottom of fork, unscrew air chamber from top of fork, remove, then this is where opinions differ. You can buy the ohlins suspension block for your vice, or you can clamp the blue seal head in soft jaws in a vice and use a rubber strap wrench to loosen the air chamber from the seal head. Some folks then use the block to remove the primary air piston. Instead I sprayed air down into the seal head and the volume spacer shot up the shaft. The spacer has a slit in it so you can spread it and remove it from the shaft. Then it is just relubricating and assembling. Ohlins also said they would do it for 50 bucks.
