Thanks for watching! With the land now mostly cleared, the next step is finalizing the design of my home, then getting the structural calcs/engineered plans, then getting the building permit. I'm hoping to get the building permit by the end of October, then CONSTRUCTION begins!

Thanks Jonathan. I'm currently finalizing the foundation and MEP plans (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing). That's why I haven't uploaded in a few weeks.
But once I get these plans finalized, I can submit them to the building department to get the building permit. New videos coming soon!
What did you use to draw the plans? Did you make a video of you designing your home?
@@exclusivelynyc I myself made a 3D model using SketchUp. I believe the structural and MEP engineers I hired to do the actual 2D building plan drawings used AutoCad.
However, the SketchUp model I created can be converted to AutoCad and I created my 2D architectural drawing from the 3D SketchUp model.

I remember taking this same first drive to the land I had bought sight-unseen. I did the same clean-up, and even had 2 dogs follow me over a mile on the road to my property on time!! LOL!

Haha thanks Mario, I think he'll appreciate it. He's a hardcore handyman, loves fixing things (which is why I gotta reign him in a bit otherwise he might build this whole container home for me -- can't let that happen!! 😂😂)

Hi do you know what climate zone you're in? and what kind of fruit trees do you plan on planting? I'm in 9A and still grow all kinds of Tropical fruits, but I keep them in containers because we tend to get cold snaps and winter storm Uri hit us hard in 2021. So eventually I may end up building a green house, look forward to seeing what all you grow! Can't wait to see the rest of the transformation relating to gardening and your animals!
