Thank you for letting us know about the vapor barrier, I didn't even know what that was. But I'm learning a lot about how beneficial it is, in keeping the heat out during the summer, but it also helps maintain a warm environment during the winter months. It's definitely going to help improve your insulation and make it more energy efficient, in the long run. Thanks again for sharing another great video with us. I was in the hospital this week from a copd flair up and a virus.. i spent a good part of one day re-watching your oldest videos. It just so cool to look back at the beginning when you were just staring out with the chickens in Indiana... my goodness, look at you now. . The babies are half grown and you all appear to be in your true happy place. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I love what you’re doing! The foil wrap is a great idea. It serves a dual purpose; some insulation and it creates a bug and rodent barrier. It’s one thing rodents won’t chew through. On your next reno, cover the floor joists with it and it will provide more protection from rodents as well as keeping the floors warmer. It can be added after the fact but a big hassle to get on your back under the dwelling and attach it to the subfloor. Yuck.

Hey Doug. Try this trick when installing ceiling insulation. Cut the plastic bag it comes in into strips. Staple the strips to the rafters to hold up the insulation until you attach the ceiling sheets to the rafters. The insulation won't sag or fall. Makes the job much easier. Enjoy your channel.
Omgosh! Maverick has gotten so tall! Bell is taller than Mom now😮 They grow up way to fast! I remember when Maverick was a baby and Bell was little! Beautiful family❣️

Suggestion --- Give Belle the Project of designing the Landscaping and Greenery around the property? She could learn a lot and do a great job, I'm sure. Just a thought. Love what you're doing (but of course I've loved every property you've upgraded on the channel).

Having the foil on the walls and roof (?) will make a big difference so I’m glad you’re getting it done before it gets any hotter down there. My sister lives in AZ and it’s already been a hundred and some over! 😝 I think mowing is Ashley’s happy place. 😉 It’s one of mine, at least when the non-chargeable battery isn’t dead. 🙄

You are so smart! I love the calico. I'm partial to them. Right now I have two and one is a rare male calico named Capt. Fishipants. I've rescued and adopted all my pets and I got him from the Humane Society . They assumed he was a she until they went to spay the poor boy and found no female parts. Your daughter would be interested to google male calicos. Fishy Britches is a healthy 7 yr old now.

Great job on the lawn, Ashley. I’d be interested to know if you notice any difference with the radiant heat on the walls after putting up the barrier. We have a corrugated tin shed and are thinking of doing the same before insulation. Bye Maverick 👋🏼
We've used radiant barriers in our main house porch roofs and it made a big difference. It went from feeling super hot, to feeling like we were sitting in shade. We also used it in the ceiling of our enclosed trailer workshop and that also worked great. We will try to keep people updated on how the mobile home feels inside. :)

I figured if BOSS OF THE SWAMP can walk barefoot in his cabin in New Hampshire in the winter, it should work great in other states, since it gets to minus 20 ° F up there.

If you have ever owned a black car in the south you know how hot they get. I am afraid the dark paint will make the house hotter but it is attractive.
We drive a black car. It's probably our favorite car that we've ever owned and it looks sharp too! From what we understand, all cars get hot if parked in the sun.
Love how the mobile home is turning out. I’m still waiting for the kitchen at home to be finished. I want to see that metal sink base refinished.
Love the way the back looks. Sleek and actually relevant in today’s designs. I like the pops of color but I would have loved just the black. So many things u could design for the yard with the mono chrome look. But it’s a solid design choice either way.

WOW!! I just LOVE the creative and unique colors you guys have chosen! I have spent a year trying to decide what I want the exterior to look like on a handyman special mobile home I bought in rural Appalachia. lol It has white siding now which needs some sections replaced or I might do the lower half wood, reuse the vinyl to replace what needs to be fixed on the top, and maybe paint the vinyl barn red. Though, I have heard when you paint vinyl it can be a problem. Decisions, decisions, lol I would have never thought of the colors you have chosen. It has a Frank Lloyd Wright vibe in the way it blends in with nature and your beautiful yard! The turquoise is an outstanding feature to retain and bring out the vintage design of the mobile home. Your brilliance never ceases to amaze me!!
Yea, you have to be careful with painting vinyl certain colors since it can cause it to heat up too much and cause it to warp. Thanks!
@@diyfferent yes, that is exactly what I learned when I watched a lot of videos about it. If memory serves me right it is especially true with a darker color like the barn red I really wanted that can cause the vinyl to melt when painted. What a bummer 😒 I truly appreciate that you have confirmed this is a problem so now I know it is true. Once the insulation is in, will be a tad cooler to build out the interior. I think you planned out the timing of installs perfectly, to be ahead of our weather.

I believe you know what you are doing so I'm sure the radiant barrier will work just like you say. Ashley, you looked so cute on that riding mower and you make it look like so much fun. I love how your neighbor's cat feels right at home with you all, especially how she loves Maverick. Next time, you need to put Stanley to work instead of letting him just get in the way.
