    I worked as an insulation contractor for several years and it appears that you are installing the insulation properly. I can offer you a suggestion to keep the insulation from falling down and it will not cost anything because you already have the needed material. All you have to do is cut the plastic bags that the insulation comes in into strips a few inches wide and staple the strips on one beam, install the insulation and quickly staple the plastic strip to the next beam. This will enable you to insulate the entire ceiling without additional costs. Then you can install your OSB without the insulation falling on you. Good Luck and I like your videos.

      Absolutely agree! Strapping is such a pain, adds more weight (small amount I know), and adds cost.

    Doug you probably already figured it out but get you a spool of fishing line say 30 lb fishing line and just staple it and zigzag it to hold it up it's a looking good guys not trying to tell you what to do

    Just a suggestion , On the ceiling insulation I used fishing line and staple gun it makes much easier.

    My father cut about 3 inch long strips from the bags the insulation came in. Just use the straps and a staple gun to go across to hold it up. It was easy cost-efficient thing to do. He also didn’t wanna have to run to the store just wanted to finish the job. 😊😊😊

    I was wondering why you weren't using the wire braces for the insulation! Onward and upward! It will make such a difference when you get the ceiling done. 👍❤😘👏👏👏👏👏👏

    It would have been nice to see the difference in temperature of the inside wall surface before and after the radiant barrier using an infrared thermometer on the sunny wall. It would have shown a measurable difference.

    Hard and dirty work. I used spring loaded curtain rods ( like for a narrow window) as temporary support for the bats. I then used chair webbing stapled to the rafters, removed the rods, and nailed up dry wall. All this by myself. I also built a couple of adjustable T supports to hold the dry wall for nailing.

    When you were painting the exterior of the mobile home, you were using a tool on a handle to protect from overspraying the paint. Wondering if that tool would that be helpful in holding the insulation up until you can get it secured? 🤔 You'll probably be done with the process before you see this comment.

    Just take the orange ribbon and staple it across the insulation as you put it in. That should hold the insulation while you put the panels up.

    I probably would've tried to use the surveyors tape lol. Run down the whole side twice and feed the insulation into it. And it's cheap enough. Sooo frustrating when stuff like this happens! You're killing it though!! And it looks amazing!! LOVE the additional support you created for the peaks! 👌🏻

    You know how I kept my insulation in? Baling twine! I tied a knot in either end and used my brad nailer to fasten them to the trusses. It's not pretty, but it works.

    They have precut metal insulation hangers for 16 inch and 24 inch that you could use to hold up the insulation. Added cost but may make it easier to put up the panels. Just a thought. I am half way thru the video, maybe you mentioned it later. Yep, you mentioned it. Hope that works.

    They make wire hanger for this type of insulation you just push them in place please get a cloth nail apron for your screws love the video

    I worked in a clean room for 10 years wearing Tyvek suits. I can attest to how good it feels to take those things off.

    Doug get a box if batt supports, it will hold insulation up and very fast to put in, no tools needed!

    Doug! I am SHOCKED that you and Ashley aren’t wearing mask while handling the Fiberglass insulation.
    I share my concern because the fibers float in the air and you breathe them. I know because at a younger age 40 years ago I worked for KOELWHIT A/C and Insulation. My mother was the concerned one about my job. The coughing is from the fibers.
    I care and am NOT telling you what to do just a concern viewer.

    I second neoman. Exchange the rest of your Pink for Rockwool bats. Stays put on its own, cuts with a steak knife, soundproofs, and is fire retardent. I put it my house in half the time it takes to do Pink.

    Wishing you all the best in your efforts to insulate the ceiling. I remember how bad the heat combined with the humidity can be, I grew up in New Orleans. Be careful, heat exhaustion is a serious medical condition. Stay hydrated.

    You had the right idea with the pink strapping to hold up the insulation up, I just think the pink tape you were using wasn’t strong enough. The strapping that I’ve seen is wider and see-through and you just staple it on the underside to hold up the insulation. It’s made specifically for that.

    You need to use a giant wooden T to help hold it. Not sure what it's called but it's a game changer. It's like an extra set of hands.

    this is exactly what you should do..... when something dose not work out, stop trying and take a break steep back and try something different. i know ive have wasted lots of parts and money and other things because i was forcing it. now that its getting hotter take care of your selves stay hydrated ect. cant wait to see it all done!!

    years ago I received the same insulation free .. I installed it in a friends garage i had no clue they sold those wire holders... I stapled string and used it as supports , worked out pretty nice... can't wait to see it finished , great job

    Doug they make insulation support strips to keep it from falling . You can get 100 for $10.67 at Home Depot.

    Good call to pick up the wire. I was surprised you didn’t build a jig to hold up the insulation, maybe a T so Ashley could hold while you stuff the insulation.

    Looking good….. Smart getting the wall built in the middle for support. I’m assuming it’s either not insured yet or very little and of course after finishing it will need to be updated and upgraded…… that’s always a scary thought especially living in a area that has storms.

    Doug and Ashley is there anyway to run some big heavy duty fans, also you should wear a mask I’m sure the fibres aren’t good for your lungs you may need to work only really early or later at night when it’s not as hot? 🥵

    I heard Stan breathe a big sigh of relief! I also heard a little grumbling from Belle about the heat. That ceiling job has not been fun so far but I hope you got some help from the hardware store. I always appreciate how you are honest about the problems you run into and know just how to fix them. Fixing that truss took some time but I know you felt better about doing it. I hope you don't have anymore such obstacles as you get this ceiling done. Great teamwork and dedication to the task.
