My dad’s desire to have a “blended family” (his new girlfriend + me and my brother) playing happy families, meant I ended up estranged from him at age 14 onwards because he couldn’t accept that my brother and I were not comfortable having any mother figure other than our own biological mum. He chose his girlfriend (half his age), my brother and I did not. To expect children to be as happy with your choice of a partner as you are is unreasonable and unfair in my opinion. There shouldn’t be a pressure on children to “blend” with people they had no choice in having in their lives.
If it works, that’s amazing, but to pressure children into embracing a second mother / father they never chose, is selfish on the adult’s part.

If you were a bad step mum do you think mark would have stayed with you also if you treat them the way you treat Maddie and Kiki then youv been a fantastic step mum your so open and honest I love watching you with your girls ♥️
I have a step sister the same age as my daughter, for a time I was jealous that she got to grow up with my dad in her life every day. Then when my dad died she was only 18 and I felt so sorry for her because she was too young to loose her dad. I never took it out on her that I was Jealous but when she played up my dad and his wife would ask me to sort her out. She told me my dad always said he didn't have the problems with my brother and me that he had with her but all we ever heard was how proud he was of her and how clever she was. I had to sit my dad down and tell him that we were all feeling we weren't good enough. From that day he let us all know he was proud of us and things changed for the better. Although 22yrs older then my sister I didn't want to share my dad at first and was cross when she played up because she was getting to grow up with dad in her life every day. We are now close and I don't call her my stepsister she is my sister when dad died I wanted to take his place of being there for her. Blending families us hard believe me we had many problems and now my daughter is becoming a blended family with her children and boyfriends 2 and as a grandparent who has spent so much alone time with my grandchildren I am happy for them but got upset that I wouldn't have that same time with them. When she assured me I would still get alone time I was ok. It sounds selfish but it's just another factor in blending families. Don't get me wrong I am really happy she has met someone and it's working.

My stepdaughter was 4yrs old when me and her dad met when her dad and I had our boys she was very good it was only when she got to 12yrs then she started to make trouble she told us she only came to see her dad for a holiday and not have to do jobs about the house as I pointed out to her this is a family and we all have to do our bit even your brothers witched seem to work she is now 22yrs old and has her own child we are a lot better now

I grew up in Croydon , very sad to see Crystal Palace stadium so derelict, after being such a busy sports venue x Nice that you take the girls there and use it x

My parents divorced when I was in my late teens, dad remarried and step mother never accepted me and my brother as part of the family. Very jealous lady, affected our relationship with dad, both myself and my brother were the ‘adults’ and had to overlook lots of pettiness and spiteful ness. These days they are in their 80s and step mother is very appreciative how we are with her, actually says I’m a good daughter and person. Only took three decades to get to this point, so glad I persevered and it was this that helped her overcome her gross insecurity, so it really is true, perseverance pays off.
That was a blast from the past haven't seen Crystal Palace Sports Stadium since I was a very young girl and was picked to represent my school to run a race and come last. I thought I was quite good up until then, was never picked again lol.

Omg, I spent a week on campus at Crystal Palace on a school trip in 1981. All the way from Bonnie Scotland. First time in London. 1st evening there, we were caught mucking about on the track and messing in the sand for the long jump, punished by lugging everyone's kit for the full week 😂😂😂... The week included a trip to Wembley and the guide made shitty remarks about the Scots having pinched the turf and wrecked the goalposts in 1977, 😂. He was so shitty, I wanted to tear up the turf myself! Queens Silver Jubilee year 😊 Feels like yesterday.

Same with my swimming pool at school,because I was scared of the parent who came in to help us learn to swim trying to get away I think I drank gallons of the water.scary as we know the school had asbestos work done on it during the summer hols,but as you can guess our parents weren't informed of potential danger

Definitely dont feel like a blended family. My mums new partner has kids a lot younger than me and my sister and we all just exist next to each other when they're around.
A blended family is very difficult in my opinion! Iv got one and we have are ups and downs all the time 🤦🏼♀️

My parents lied to my sister and I to make us go for walks. Every time we got to a corner they used to say “just round this corner and we are there.” 20 corners later we arrived. They have just rebuilt part of the school I used to go to 30 years ago because of asbestos tiles on the ceiling. The same tiles that were loose even then.
Be careful In that isolated space ie : the running track , you can't protect you and the girls against a couple of big blokes , it's v isolated just be careful
Felt sad and disbelief seeing the Crystal Palace ( "National Stadium") so derelict looking. I use to club run there in competitions and remember the big athletic nights on the TV. How's it got to this.....
I googled it and it's still a going concern so I hope people watching this spread the word and go down themselves to help support it. It's still a multi sport complex but obviously in need of more customers resulting in more money that can hopefully be reinvested in it .
Mark , slow lap or 2 jog,
Gentle stretches roll of the neck , shoulders, arms, hips ,legs .
Followed by 'strides' not sprinting but opening up the stride pace ,along the straights , at a faster pace .
Then finally "intervals'. Example medium fast pace run for say half a lap (200m) , walk 100m then another 200m medium fast pace . A few of those and you'll be soooooo fit. A slow jog around again to cool down. Adapt the pace and amount obviously ,start of with quality over quantity.
