- This awesome idea of a RIVAL BLASTER is the work of 2 industrial design students from the International Center of Creativity - Cedarville University, USA.

"So, this project was a school project. Where we were at first assigned to make a proposal of what Nerf should make. Then the professor/instructor chose the ones that he liked and assigned each of us into a group of three. From there Braden Leenerts, Corynn Concepcion, and I (Ye-Chan Jeoung) got into a group. The one that got picked was Braden's proposal to make a SNIPER RIFLEfor Nerf.
We got into a group and started our research and ideation. We found out that NERF guns that were snipers actually sucked and then we found out about the Rival series of guns that were pretty good for our thing. Then after research, we went into ideation sketches to figure out a design that we wanted to go with.
Before going to the next step, there was one condition that was given by the professor/instructor. It was that it should be one hand operable. Sniper rifles are usually not something that you can use with one hand, so we decided that we need to have an automated part in it. So, we decided to make it a sniper and assault rifle combo.
Then we decided to divide what we should each do. I decided to do the 3D modeling and realistic rendering. Braden decided to make the HDF (High-Density Foam) model.
At first, we really weren't making any progress, so I decided to start early with my 3D modeling and get an overall shape. (usually, the steps are brainstorming and research, ideation and form studies, digital sketches/painting, 3D modeling and rendering, and then the final physical model."

It's like a built in masterkey. This would be amazing as an actual nerf product, especially if it was compatible with the rival rechargeable battery pack.
Also if they could work out how to do a "clicky" dual stage trigger you could have just one main grip with a primary/secondary trigger setup: One trigger would be dual stage with 1st click activating flywheels, and 2nd click activating pusher/belt.
Other trigger would be regular 'springer' trigger.
Those are just my opinions.
i think you can always make adjustments to a design.... but we must appreciate the fact that someone actuall spent time on thinking about it and rendering it. it's awesome! ^^

I completly agree, it is beyond admirable and respectable to be able to come up with, design, render, and create something like this.
And of course you can always tweak/change/improve anything, that's the core principle for the Nerf modding community, where your only limits are your creativity/resourcefulness/ingenuity, and your resources.
I didn't intend to detract from their accomplishment in any way/shape/form, I've been working on a *Spartan kit-ed Longshot/Centurion integration* of sorts, so my mind is stuck in "How can I make this better" mode.

It would be interesting if the primary grip were to house a 12 round mag for the top blaster or maybe a hopper or a built in mag similar to a Kronos. Also it would be more wieldy if the secondary grip were moved forward.

If you want it to have a sniper take a nemesis and add a stupidly long barrel on it and only put six rounds into the hopper
looking at this, I can see where engineering would be having a hard time, considering the priming bolt's track and most likely plunger tube, would be in the way of a conveyor belt system that the Khaos utilized, in order to make something like this work, it would probably need a very complex pusher, or the mag would need to be slightly lower, sacrificing some sleekness of the design, but I would so definitely be willing to buy one aftermarket for something like $250 if I had the money, especially if they got it work like this and it were in low production. I would prefer less of course, but the value is there.
Scott JS for designers it‘s more about the appearence first since they don‘t know the different mechanics... if i were to rebuild this, i‘d go for Khaos + Helios integration ^^

That actually looks like a very usable and fun blaster that a lot of foam flingers would enjoy playing with. It has the aspect of a tanker with the 40 round full auto blaster (witch could help with this custom mag) but it also has a spring powered bolt rifle i like it Keep It Up !

Would need to swap trigger placement. Flywheel at the back and bolt towards the front. Otherwise would be too front heavy when priming the spring. Looks amazing though.

Have you tried a Khaos and a helios ripe mixture for this prototype mod the spring for the Helios so a more accurate sniper like top and the regular khaos on bottom

As good as this is,
the dual trigger would make this hard to use, I think. You have to use your weaker hand on the auto, and I'm not sure if that's great. But still, an amazing concept.

As long as the bolt action propels rounds to 250fps so it is actually useful.

How many nerf rival balls does this gun hold? Is it a new version of the nerf rival khaos? Is a springer of flywheel? If nerf made it how much would you price this product? Its basically a combination of a Helios and a khaos (but pumped on on steroids). Damn does the name fit tho

Neat but good luck feeding from that canted mag. Flip it around 180 degrees and you're set -the feed lip should be parallel with the bolt, not aksew. Remember how the Khaos mags are designed... Can't to see where this goes!

I think it would be cool if it accepted both darts and rival balls. Keep the 40 round magazine and ditch the 12 round rival mag for a normal dart receiver.
in general i agree with you, but you'd loose a lot of capacity if you didn't use external magazines. different ammo types is one way to give more sense to a blaster combo - the other way is different firing mechanics, i.e. flywheel + spring/string/air (=silent), imo ^^
I love this model and like one person said, “It’s a Kaoss on steroids.” I would love this to be one the market for less or equal to 150 or 200 US dollars. Love it I want it so bad right now.
PS: I love sniping and just full on fire power. So having a multi role sniper and automatic would very sweet.
