Carl Perkins is a real OG. His guitar playing is way overlooked
Carl Perkins owns this song (wrote it). Clapton played his part and didn't try to outdo Carl. May have been foolish to try. Perkins is not only a phenomenal guitarist. But he is a very good singer and great overall performer.
At the end I think Eric was picking his mind about his methods.
I remember this as a kid. Does anybody know when this was taped?
@@mrvlsmrv Maybe the Johnny Cash
Show... 1968 - 72 ?
@@bak-mariterry5180 yeah, it was definitely the Johnny Cash Show. I'm thinking 1970. That's all the time that Derek and the Dominos was a band. That was them backing up this classic collaboration.
@@mrvlsmrv Look farther down in comments, their is a link to this show .
Great clip. Ton of energy. Carl Perkins never got the attention of his Sun buddies, not enough hits.
I met Carl Perkins back in the mid 1990s like uh 1996 for his book signing got it autograph. It was his Go Cat Go book with David McGee. It's a great book about 600 pages. He passed away in 1998. At the book store only 50 people showed up lol I sit right in front of everyone to hear him tell a story, it was kind of long story and it was good.
❤ superbe trio 🕺💃🎙🎸😎
If you find yourself on stage with players at your level or above, you consider yourself lucky. You can see Clapton has this look, like a kid in a candy shop.
WOW!!! Love CP...just a killer guitar player!!!
Now that's a real jam session!
