Fun fact: when Roy Orbison came to my hometown on tour, my grandmother was young then and rushed the stage. Security caught her, and instead of kicking her out, Roy Orbison signed an autograph for her and was super nice. She still has the signed picture decades later. Thank you, Roy Orbison, for being nice to my crazy fan girl grandma. ❤️

@SwingFi I have watched this video dozens of times. My eyes are not what they once were, but I don't see any women on stage. Where did Bonnie Raitt and KD Lang appear?
@@Inigo_The_Son This is just one song; you have to watch the entire Black and White concert to see them all. Not just this one song. By the way, she's only a backup singer. I don't recall the women singing with him, but I might be wrong on that. Been years since I watched the entire concert myself.

@@mikejohn0088 I don't know what politics has to do with it, but 40 years ago I drove Tiny Tim in a limousine, so we spent a couple days together. He was very friendly, but really weird. Even though it was 100+ degrees in Austin, he wore like 6 layers of clothing, finishing with a heavy multi-colored coat. This made him smell pretty bad. I was required to wear a suit, and just looking at his clothes made me sweat more. Overall, he was a more pleasant customer than 90% of celebrities I drove.

The guitar jam with James Burton and Bruce Springsteen was pure magic!
I fuckin knew that was Bruce
They're the best oh yeahhhhh
James Burton, he was Elvis Presley guitarist on stage from 1970 till Elvis died, and I believe he was a wrecking crew member for a while. Probably the best talent on that stage, even Bruce thought so in the interview of this show...
You know, I knew James Burton was bad as hell some of what i've heard being a huge Elvis fan, and that Bruce could play but I really didn't know he was that good! You're so right those two together is like nothing I'd heard. AWSOME!

Man, it's tragic that the days of this much musical talent sharing the same stage are just about over. The days of the greats and the legends are gone. What are we left with?
Government-sponsored rap trash is what we are left with. Nasty skanks and their low class boyfriends being given celebrity status.
Many a legend in that room. Hell, Elvis Presley's band is there. James Burton(guitar) Glenn Hardin(piano) Jerry Shiff (Bass) Ronnie Tutt(drums) and the list goes on. This is a must own DVD. And yes, I've had it for years. 👌
Watched this concert so many times. Best ever
Elvis always had the best on stage with him. The TCB Band were just that. Love this show.
Guess is Tom Waits on piano instead of Glenn Hardin
Wow! Amaze you hear and read this... Elvis Presley's band? So beautiful and very entertaining...❤❤❤
This is a legacy show if you attended. Life altering.
The guitarist who added the most to this performance in his typically unassuming way was the incredibly talented James Burton. He's the one outdueling Bruce. If you know his pedigree, then you know why he is so remarkably talented as a guitarist. The former leader of Elvis Presley's band has played with just about every conceivable major Country & Rock & Roll artist. They all regard him as an icon of the guitar.
Originally started as Rick Nelson's guitar player who at one time was second in popularity to Elvis.
Thanks, Jack. How well I know a that. The tragedy that was Ricky Nelson. He was THE teen idol of the 1950's, and should have done much more with his music. He was just a bit too syrupy and "pretty." The country wanted something different and first got the "Bad Boy," Elvis and then The Beatles and then The Stones. Nelson was left dealing with drug addiction and a failed marriage. Burton was simply one if the best lead guitarists of that era and is still respected beyond his prime.
@@michaelnilsson3596 I think he did try and get more edge; in fact some say he was responsible for the beginnings of country rock. There is the famous Garden Party gig where he had a new image and sound but the crowd wanted to wax nostalgic thus the song. ''If memories or all I sang. I'd rather drive a truck.'' :)

Maybe it's just me, but other than being a golden night of raw artists, with Roy in the middle, calmly but seriously watching everyone in the band do their thing, it just seemed as though he was a very solid centerpiece with a type of aura that cemented the whole band that night. It's like he was wearing an invisible crown, like a dad watching his children perform and keeping an eye on each one. When Roy joined the Traveling Wilbury's, I think that was a very magic moment for the group to have his talents combined with the other Royalty of music. That was a time when music was serious and involved. I lived through it; I know. Never to be repeated again.
So this Band was known as The Travelling Wilburys and was Roy Orbison's come back Band after a few years playing small venues in Australia and some of the European Countries, they have their own CZcams channel and there's a Documentary about them as well as the Roy Orbison Preservation Society that also made a Documentary

Roy Orbison was truly a rare talent. His range was, and is still untouched today. It's rare to have a male vocalist hit such high notes, yet can also do wonders to the low notes. He did it with such force, such power, but the best of all, such clarity that his music will live on for thousands of years unsurpassed. What still amazes me since the first I've heard his music until today is, he did it with ease. It's incredible. His voice is unmatched even today..!!

Das Konzert muss der Hammer gewesen sein, wer dort alles dabei war....❤❤
Pretty Woman was the number 1 song when I enlisted in the USAF in Sep 1964. I'll never forget it. Roy Orbison & his music were a huge part of my teen years. He was one of a kind. RIP, Roy.
Thanks to our USA Service Men and Women

Timeless Classic
Great rendition/ collab'
Who's here???
Fantastic performance. That Burton guy is hell of a guitarist. Bruce was obviously into it and Orbison's voice was perfect.
James Burton, gave that Springsteen fellow a free lesson on guitar playing...
James Burton is a Living Legend, in the Hall of Fame, Elvis Presley's Guitarist , Rickey Nelson's band ext, Fender Telecaster Man
You can see Burton on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet as Ricky's guitarist.
When Rock and Roll was born;
James Burton was in the waiting room, handing out cigars.
The song has lost none of its charm which just goes to show that music can never grow old nor ever fade away The singer is immortalized by the song and vice versa The guitaring was simply divine .I'll never get tired of listening to this absolutely delightful song 🎵 💕
