- Roy Orbison performs "Oh, Pretty Woman" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

mm they have different kind of voice ,i think roy orbison can hit low and high notes ,Johnny cash had a lower voice than roy but Johnny cant hit the higher notes than roy did , at once Johnny invited roy to his show and they sang pretty woman ,But they lowered the key of the song so that johnny could sing it

I remember (I´m 69) when I first heard his voice,It was in 1961.I was at my first ime out of Germany in Austria,for holyday.And then I heard for the first time ``Only the lonely`` From this moment on Roy Orbison was my Favorit.

26 years ago? Damn, I feel so old. I am now 57 and grew up with the music that you grew up with - 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. Some of the 90's were good but not like those 4 decades. Although I do like some of Green Day, mostly Wake Me When September Ends. I, also, like the Big Band era, especially Glenn Miller. And old, old country music like the Carter Family.
You are so right that Roy will always be among the R'n'R gods that came down from Mt. Olympus for a time amidst us. R'n'R fans still love his unique music.

I just watched Roy on a show in 63 doing Pretty Woman and then watched him in 85 doing the same pretty woman and that poor man had worn himself out in just that 22 years!!!!! Bless his heart!!!
