It's up there for me. I'm a songs and songwriter guy. i love all of those artists that aren't wimps (croce and such). My #2 is Tom Waits with "I turn around to look at you, you light a cigarette. i wish i had the guts to bum one, but we've never met and i hope that i don't fall in love with you" from I Hope That I Don't Fall in love with you. #1 is Jeff Buckley's Lover, You Should Have Come Over "It's never over
All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
      It's never over
She is the tear that hangs inside my soul forever". Jeff is what artists wish they were. this singer with a voice so soulful, that could make aaaanyone's souls feel better with even mundane lyrics. He refuses to write songs like that, though, they all are just magical all the way through. Soul, jazz, alternative, rock? It doesn't matter what genre it is, it is wonderful. If he was allowed to come out with more than one album and a few songs after, the whole planet and all humans would have healed. God obviously can't have that because he has to treat us like butt, so he drowned him

They're communicating in music terms, like, "Ok? Yeah, it's alright, I got it, ...now you go...great, my turn again....I'll take it on the next entrance..." and because the chords and beat say "When..>", the language of music is complete and everyone understands it: I'm a cellist, pianist, conductor, play all the instruments, and am a professional for 60 years in all styles. It's how it's done, Babe. But Dylan isn't a great vocalist...just a good songwriter...guitarist...

He owned the entire generation of boomers for better or worse. That line of HIS : "to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free..." set everything from that moment on into the 1960s. @@warddan2002 Twas not always so. Go watch video clips of Dylan on the old Johnny Cash show & Bob duetting with Joan Baez. Absolutely sublime! The Bobster could sing when he wanted to! Also, I own most of his recordings on vinyl & CD & his voice is clear as a bell on every one of them. I've seen him live numerous times including Rolling Thunder, which was great. It's the live performances that are hit or miss wrt sound quality. The early decades were mostly fantastic; the past decade, not good AFAIC. Years of cigarettes & whiskey have made his voice unintelligible onstage. Much as I'd like to see him 1 more time before he leaves us, I'd rather buy a box set that I'm sure I can enjoy.

@@jobono1508 Hi, I was at school when I heard the line " 20 years of schooling and they put you on the day shift ".
Somebody had actually spoken the truth to me for the first time. I never trusted a person in authority again. Which made me believe in me and not the rantings of bosses from the local factors. So I went travelling the world for over 30 years and have never regretted it. Probably made more money enjoying life than I would have done in some factory paying rent, shopping at the local store, drinking in the local pub all owned by the Management. They paid you one day and took it back the next.
That one line changed my life forever, Cheers Bob Dylan.

I had this whole concert and Dylan's Grammy performance of Lovesick on a VH tape recorded from TV. After this they break out a version of Crossroads that has a barnyard bunkhouse groove that only Dylan could conjure up. Clapton loosens up and starts carving out soloes like the master he is.
