HOW DID I MISS THIS PREMIER!?!? Shoot, my notification schedule didn’t go off for when you posted.. sorry I missed it! Sick vid, good insights, well done!!
Good video Lucas! I was at Keystone a week ago Friday. And it was before they had the bottom part of Schoolmarm open so you could only go down as far as the Montezuma lift. The first few hours in the morning were good but then it became crowded and too many people skiing out of control. It was a kill zone and I saw at least three or four crash injuries from being getting run into by reckless homies. I think I was out of there well before noon because it was so bad. Glad you had a better experience. Be safe out there everyone!
yes 100% people need to be safe and aware of what is in front, behind and on the side of them. it bothers me that people can be so reckless and have this ego about trying to be the best skier out there. its all fun and games until you hit someone. its november - take it easy and chill out
Great video, glad to see copper get some love, met you in a lift there last opening day and that was great. But you HAVE to come back to copper in January or February to hit the hard terrain like three bears
Great vid! When do you think you’ll be back up at crystal mountain? Opening day is sometime in the month that would be a really cool video! Last year had huge pow opening week
Just went to Copper today, they’re grooming the first black that’s gonna open up, Rosi’s Run. They already had Andy’s Encore open for the Ski Team, along with Copperopolis. Ptarmigan, Rhapsody, Main Vein and Fairplay are open. They’re all blues.
Heading out there in mid February. Going to see a show in Vail but trying to decide if we should stay and snowboard there or go for a less expensive resort in the proximity. Also considering Breck, Keystone, and BeaverCreek. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions🙏🏼
Just bought my snoqualmie season pass! Can’t wait for ski season to start out here, although it’ll be a bit. Are you planning to come out to the PNW again this year?
Keystone is even better - they have Schoolmarm open top to bottom so even beginners can ski all the way down, including Ina's Way to River Run base - of course, they had top-to-bottom open using blue runs as of last week. Peru lift is open too, so you lap half of Schoolmarm from the Mountain House base area. They also have by far the best first-time skier area open early season. They are one of the few resorts where the bunny hill is at the top and open from Day 1. They opened Endeavor with the Ranger lift pretty quickly too - which is great for progression from the bunny hill an easy lap trail. But, Keystone opening with 2.5 miles of trails on day one is just killer. I don't consider the ski season truly started until Keystone is open. As I have said, at least compared to Breck, Keystone greens can be a bit more challenging - so keep that in mind, especially if you are coming in from the East coast.
i have a mogul skiing background so typically we used short poles so we could get the pole up over the mogul and onto the backside. in my personal opinion, most people use poles that are too long. i dont keep them short to force myself to bend my knees more, but when im in my attack stance for skiing, the pole length then becomes what it should be. my poles are probably too short for most people, but i think sizing down on poles allows you to have a more aggressive stance especially when tackling steeper terrain. just my opinion tho.
Impressed impressed! I just want you to know, as a viewer, the most interesting part is seeing a CZcamsr grow from 20k to 80k subs. I don’t know if you know “Colin and Samir” channel, it took them Forever during that 20k to 80k. If you could document and later tell us in some podcast about your struggle, ups and downs, strategy during that zone. As well as what kept you going and stuff. I would love to hear that. Heck, if you write a physical book about it, I would buy it. “How I went from 20k to 80k (in a niche genre)”. Thank you for your work Lucas. I have no doubt you will gain a lot more subscribers.
I can easily see you hitting 80k in 2 years. 150k in 3 years. In my opinion, you are in a 1 millionsub+ tier vlogger. You can drive a car, ski like a stunt man. And you play paintball too. That makes you a Serious action packed specialist in this CZcams game. I’m a fan. So I will be there watching even in 2028 and beyond.
“no jackson hole? no big sky?”
LIVE STREAM tonight at 6pm MST - see you there!
Stoked to see you are big sky or Jackson this year!

Can you post your typical gear list. I'm always looking for ways to improve my kit

I'm stoked for this season 🎿
See you on the live!!!

Ski trip to keystone January 16th!
Just bought my snoqualmie season pass! Can’t wait for ski season to start out here, although it’ll be a bit.
Are you planning to come out to the PNW again this year?
nice man! yeah i plan on coming up that way!
You gotta come back to A Basin during peak season and ski the east wall, you will love it
i lived in colorado for 2 seasons and skied the east wall all the time
Yeah, WP is our home mountain and it was fun but super short - almost like Midwest skiing.
Need for more snow.
Guessing that Vail is #1
good guess but no :D

I’m hitting wolf creek this weekend! Snow is lookin pretty sparse unfortunately on the cams but it’s skiing nonetheless
be safe have fun man
⛷ nice comparison. will you be going to Aspen? Id love to ski there someday.
ive been there before but no plans to go as of now!
@LucasCatania17 no kidding? Any reason why?
Hey Lucas, how do you size your pole length? I noticed you keep em short. Do you keep them short to force yourself to bend your knees more?

@@LucasCatania17 I agree completely.

interesting! i dont think we will really get up to that point to be honest.

Maybe come back to Colo in Jan or Feb and rank?

Jackson hole has more snow than all of the Colorado resorts yet they’re still not open
Imma be the first one to watch this video tomorrow morning
cap
If you would have had the waffles on opening day of BRECK that would have changed everything;)
I thought for sure that Vail would be #1 and Keystone #2
Yesterday was my 3rd day of the season and I used my GoodWill skis and oooooo am I sore;) That and all the sun really wore me out..
congrats on day 3 darin!
@@LucasCatania17 thanks lucas
Yeww!

Time stamps are already in the description. Video starts at 0:00.
What about Tara’s rankings??
1. copper
2. eldora
3. winter park
4. a basin
@@LucasCatania17…. Freakin’ awesome ❤️⛷
🤟🏼🤟🏼👍🏻⛷️
youre a legend bro
Breck is my favorite. It doesn't have a highway running through it like Vail. Feels more natural. Great video. ⛷️
for sure! breck is one of my favorite ski towns out there.
Coming from the east coast, would you suggest Breck over Keystone? Never been to either
@@ti3mpo618 Breck is the bigger resort with more variety of runs. Keystone is a great place to ski too, but probably better for experienced skiers.
Bro Lucas you need to go to Crested Butte this year they have lots of gnarly terrain there!🤙⛷️🚡
its on my list man!
Sick!
