Though I did JUST listen to this podcast and it talked about separating "on field" (in front of the customer) and "off field" activity. It was an interesting idea. On the question about which industries will bounce back - some are going to take a lot longer than others. This article from McKinsey has some data for US business and how long they'll take to get back to normal www.mckinsey.com/industries/public-and-social-sector/our-insights/us-small-business-recovery-after-the-covid-19-crisis For account managers - the good news is that customer retention is a huge focus and it became clear in the pandemic how important it was to invest in account management and customer success. I expect that to continue. Industries like Healthcare, Education, Cloud computing, Cyber security, Logistics, Automation and e-Commerce are big winners from the pandemic and those are where I predict huge growth in career opportunities for key account managers. (might do a video on this! You've given me an idea!) Hope that helps.
