  • To put it simply, Justin Bieber came at the right time, with the right music, and the “perfect”appeal. From lesser teen pop acts to short charted pop stars, they all wanted their Bieber reign.

Tbh very few artists can do it without losing their mind. The kid has a lot of mental health issues because of how busy he was, especially coz at that age you cant really decide your path or career, someone has to guide you coz u dont have enough knowledge. Even if he WANTED to it still doesnt make you as happy as being able to decide things for yourself which he couldnt do a lot of the time coz his brain wasnt developed yet. A lot of the times its not about who’s more talented, its about which children you can manipulate into working like little entertaining slaves.
Super talented kid tho and i wish him the best but tbh sometimes success and longevity isnt worth the price you have to pay of being child star. I hope he finds peace

He has everyone on chokehold because the reality is by now he should’ve been gone and forgotten and the fact that he had no Disney or Nickelodeon backing him up says enough about his talent, charm, presence and abilities as an artist. He is indeed a force to be wrecked with.

Well . . . the thing is . . . he genuinely loved music. He played various instruments at an extremely young age (guitar, drums . . . ), would busk (street perform) in his home town, and did covers on youtube really before “musical youtube covers” were a thing.
He was also the first one of “his kind” (child white male pop singer) so his music label wasn’t trying to make him be someone else (aka how after Justin being famous, other music labels tried to make the guys in this video: Cody, Austin, etc, to be the “next Justin Bieber”). There’s no denying, he truly had a passion and love for music and was 100% going to be famous

People don’t want to give him his credit but dude is a living legend. Time flies so it’s easy to forget it’s been over a decade since he first came on the scene. How many artists had an “era” and eventually disappeared, y’all remember when Katy Perry was running the game at one point? Her last two albums didn’t go platinum in the US. People like Taylor, Beyonce, Justin etc. make it look easy being on top for so long.

    • @OGseoulite
      @OGseoulite Před 2 lety +224

He would be an icon not legend, to be legendary he has to reach *over* 20-25 years aka he has to reach what I call the Beyoncé benchmark. She’s been strutting the stage for 25 years. If an artist isn’t that far into their careers STILL going strong. They aren’t legendary but they can be icons. Icons usually don’t get that label until about 10 years in like a prime example is Nicki Minaj. She’s an icon who’s being legendary at this moment on her way to being a certified legend when it hits 2028

Usually once an artist gets called "the next ____" they don't make it far. When people are being phased as someone else, what's the point of paying attention to them when the original is better?
It doesn't help either when they're comparing a brand new artist who's been around for a day and labelling them the "next" comparing them to someone who's at the topest level of the business. They end up getting forgotten.

The interesting thing is there are a lot of copycats out there. Some that continue to be remembered. We see this in rap culture and we see the same pop culture and we see this in country music and it goes on from there. Thank you for this video. There is no denying that Austin is talented. But the reason why his fame didn’t stick was because his team set him up to fail. He didn’t really have a distinct sound to set him apart from all the others. Most of his popular songs were mediocre at best. Dancing with nobody would’ve topped the charts if it was released when he was younger.
As for Shawn, he was able to find his footing through posting vines for long before signing a record deal. He has his own style, not the typical style of mainstream heartthrob but it sticks. His songs are more relaxing and even the upbeat songs have a chill vibe. If Austin had more people who were like the ones and Shawn’s team he most likely would’ve been a household name.

It’s like a “be careful who you make fun of in middle school” kind of thing. Yet, now that he’s done a ton of critically acclaimed performances in indie projects, literally every major director wants to work with him, now that he’s Batman, and now that he’s being called one of the best actors of his generation by the biggest names in the film industry, a lot of those neckbeards who made fun of him are fans or even stans of him now. 🙄🙄🙄 Insecure boys really need to 🤐 when making fun of artists that girls tend to like so early in their careers. Those artists always had talent from the beginning, yet because initially their audience is teenage girls, all the boys get jealous and throw insults at them. Boys, be careful what you say because you may just end up eating your words in the future. And now that I think about it, same thing happened to The Beatles and Elvis, too. When teen girls like something, society deems it trash, but when men and boys “find” that same thing, all of a sudden those same artists are taken seriously. I'll be honest, most of the time I hate comparing artists like this. It seems like a cheap blow. So....what, because Justin Bieber is famous no other good looking white boy can make unoffending pop music? It just seems like whenever one person rises to fame, anyone who happens to make the same genre of music and has the same color skin as them will automatically be called a "copy cat" regardless of any obvious differences.
You can tell that these boys probably tried to change their looks, image, do something to separate themselves from the shadow of Justin Bieber, but to no avail. The public just can't stand to see two people look anything alike in the same spotlight. It's kinda sad to be honest. People cry that they want original music, but will immediately shut out anyone that looks like their 'favs'. I'm sure most, if not all of these boys are all individual artists who were trying to be themselves but the public just wouldn't let them. It must've hurt them to see someone else living their dreams, especially at such a young age, and on top of that being constantly told that "you're just copying Justin." I mean, that's rough.
Also, I hate the whole "_____ found their sound, and drifted away from the Justin Bieber image". Like, why are you so sure they found "their sound"? What if their original sound that you percieved to be a Justin Bieber copy WAS their original sound? What if, and this is more likely, they were FORCED to change their art in order to stop hearing the comparisons as much? It's just crazy that to you think Justin Bieber is the only white boy that's allowed to make this music. Frankly, it's just not fair for those boys that you are all so closed minded.
I will give Justin his credit though. If I were to play the comparison game, I would say that he is very close to being the male Britney Spears.

I think that one of the main issues was the fact that they were branding them as “the next Justin Bieber” while Justin was releasing music at the same time.
He never lost relevance and there was no need to find him a “replacement”
This guys (with exception of Shawn) were doomed from the start because Justin became an phenomenon in the music world and their record labels tried to mimic his success instead of making a brand new artist

Justin Bieber really made an impact for what music industry would turn out to be aftet his debut. Every year or every other month a video of " the next Justin Bieber" would go viral but that can be a limit to this guys as artists. I'm glad they all found their own persona as musicians and cut the whole Bieber comparison for good. Justin remains one of his kind for the 2010's and has accomplished what is probably the hardest thing in the music or entertainment industry overall. Longevity.

He's the prince of pop indeed nobody does or will ever do it like him
He deserves his respect and recognition
Look at howfar he has come Its hard to believe it's been a decade some of us grow up with dude. He had impact and will always do, people like him who are so influential don't last long but look at him God still has plans for him. And many people, artist upcoming artists have done covers on his songs coz they were inspired by him and some even got recognition because of that and wen I look back I look at how chris brown and others were the big dog then and wen Bieber rose to fame he took the spotlight and became the influential artist in the world the most searched person on Google and and one of the most viewed artist on CZcams that was time and baby was the most viewed song back then and wit so many streams.
I love and respect this guy from the bottom of my heart he's also my inspiration

@Kirsten A No, but she’s a better comparison career-wise and influence-wise, which is the whole point of the original comment. The rest of these folks haven’t been around enough to firmly establish themselves as legends (including Ariana… she’s almost there, but give it more time). Justin has had more time, more influence, and has received similar levels of criticism early on in his career that Ariana never really had to go through. People were making fun of Britney back in the day (she went through A LOT of s1ut-shaming), and now she’s a legend. Justin is going down that same path. Ariana hasn’t gotten that criticism, nor has she been around long enough to firmly call her a “legend”.

justin is undeniably NOT at his peak now but he still stands somewhere that new, fresh, trendy artists are not able to to stand. he runs for over a DECADE and his popularity never faded- it's beyond amazing. if there are "the next __" that means the __ is the STANDARD: that's the line, that's who people compare to. from baby, what do you mean, and peaches: we legit grew in stages with bieber and each time he absolutely hits bonkers with the numbers and impact. if /this much popularity is not his peak, imagine his actually at his prime. holy hell, he was somewhere unreachable.
