You could make luggage tags with the leftover vinyl. Might be a good thing to sell in your shop. Lots of tutorials online and on CZcams but I’m sure you could come up with a much better version! You’re very creative. Thanks for all you do!

The video is very well narrated with the explanation of why it is being constructed in a certain way. Well done. It’s like a recipe that you make the first time. You read it through first to make sure you understand it. The same with watching the video first THEN actually construct your bag. Thank you so much.

If these had grommets or even sturdy buttonholes, students would probably love them for their binders. With a wider border at the back (away from the zipper) to accommodate them. Brilliant! At the beginning I was wondering about the seam where the fabric meets the vinyl, but you've enclosed it. Nice.

I like to try to fix things myself, I can really appreciate Chris fixing this. I’m with you reusing whatever I can. I would never have thought to reuse the plastic from these bags in this way. I love to watch you sew, it’s so satisfying, lol. That bag is really great, the mitered corners are perfect.

  • @sharonwilson8208

I've made these bags and sold several, then nothing. I figured out what the problem was. The first few bags, I put some inexpensive crayons in the bag, so people could tell it was transparent, not just a large zipper pouch. I set the others out with nothing in them... crickets 😅. I think I may find some embroidery floss, markers, something so customers can tell what it is. I was thinking about getting some fabric with our State's 2 large universities. Their sports teams draw enormous crowds. Our ladies basketball team for The University of Iowa had made history last week breaking several records, and she made national news. Very exciting for our neck of nowhere 😊❤ I will see if my daughter can help me send a photo of my vynil pouches. If I try, I may send it to everyone on Facebook 😅

Another great tutorial Christine with an excellent finish. I used 2 of my plastic cover bags from bed sheets to store a couple of quilts, keeping them nice and fresh. When I made my project bags I ordered thicker plastic on-line which came folded!! So I used my hair dryer to get the creases out - works well on all plastics so maybe give it a try when using your left-over piece. My daughter brought home a plastic zipper pouch from a charity shop last week, all scrunched up 😵‍💫 Got the hair dryer out, heated the inside of the bag and now like new 😁

I love the whole way you did this! I tried doing mitered corners similar for mug rugs that I made but it was much more complicated and the result was not satifactory. I have a blanket bag that I finally put to use storing my fat quarters - of which I have too many! But I also have some clear vinyl that I bought to make my grandaughter a make up bag. Well it's time for some project pouches! I will put a grommet in the top corner so I can hang them up using binder rings or inexpensive shower curtain rings or even a fabric loop - I have plenty of scraps!!! Thank you again and again for all of your great ideas.

Aw just what I needed for my holiday! I'm taking my sewing machine and need project bags for everything I'm taking, I love your tutorials as there's no annoying music and your voice is very clear and concise and most of all calm. Unlike some I've listen too. This looks super neat and I can't wait to try it, I've had vinyl sat for over a year waiting for a project, so I'm busting out my hairdryer to remove the folds and making some of these. So again thanks for the lovely narration and clear instruction on this tutorial❤

Just a comment on the pillow bag you’re recycling…my husband and I have used those bags to travel with our pillows, since we sleep better with our own pillows. Since they’re now beginning to tear, I plan to use them as a pattern to make two out of fabric for when we travel. I kept them because of the handles that make it easy to transport. But your recycling idea has given me the idea to use the vinyl when I’m done with them. Thank you!!

Have you ever seen these new zippity do done zippers? You sew them to the outside of the pouch, any pouch. They're supposed to be easier to use. I don't know if it's because I can sew zippers in my sleep or what, but I have a difficult time with them. One of the first projects was a simple and fairly small zipper pouch, with a diagonal opening, the other a boxed bag. I would like to see you have a try with them and see what I'm doing wrong.
