Get an ANCEL VD500 OBDII from Amazon for $75. It will play with a Volkswagen, Audi, etc. or American OBD systems. Plug into the port under the steering wheel. Key on. Select the read function for V/A diagnostic protocols. Don't try to start. Dial up the throttle body function. Field one relearn. Field two relearn. Third field it might stall awaiting information. If it does turn the key to start and it should start and smooth right out. That is providing you have a clean (pull it and spray it clean with carb cleaner) free of defects throttle body. If it was running fine and your battery died or you disconnected it for some reason you might experience a start and stop condition. No laptop or expensive software required. Happy motoring!!

Hello. I would be very grateful if you could help. I got a 17' V8 FSI Touareg, bougth used and battery has been changed/disconnected for a while. Throttle pedal doesnt seem linear... If you press it a bit, it wont get going, checked with obd scanner and pressing an inch on the gas, will almost not move the relative throttle position. However, if I press halfway down, and then press it down an inch or so, it will definitely make a difference. By this I mean, when using it normally and accelerating after parking, or at a red light, I really have to press down on the gas to get moving. I compared relative throttle position with my VW Golf and pressing just a bit will change relative throttle. My treg feels very "unsensitive/unlinear". My mechanic supposedly did Throttle body adaptation. any other ideas?

Exactly behind of that black plastic throttle, theres another metal throttle. So How can I differentiate the alignment from the plastic throttle to the metal throttle with VCDS and vagcom??

Hey All I have been battling with my 2005 Polo 1.6 (9N3). It starts immediately (with accelerator pressed I always start it like this). It will idle fine with no problem but as soon as I release the accelerator it idles funny for few seconds and then switches off. I took it to a local mechanic and he did a full service ( spark plugs, oil and air filter, oil change) and I also replaced the battery but the problem still persists. Please help It has had this issue for months now and have lost the joy of owning a car.

I presume it would be. this procedure is so the alignment of the throttle body flap matches the pressing of the paddle as the signal is sent electronically

Cornelio Silguero i fixed, the problem was ignition coil and spark plug.. make sure use oem genius vw parts and change all together .. have you changed?

What about vehicles with cable throttle? Is this a different procedure?

Cornelio Silguero i got same light too when i had issues so i don’t think throttle is bad.. first check your spark plug and ignition coil..
