      Stoinkles McDoinkles When you beat the game and claim all of the regions, Sauron's forces attack your fortresses 20 times. You have to defend each time successfully, or else you have to take the fortress back all over again. After completing the 20 stages, you get this cutscene. It takes a good amount of time, but it's fun enough to not make you annoyed.

    This ending actually has deeper meaning. They make Shadow Wars for that sole purpose. To show that Talion fought so much, over and over again, trying to buy some time. The cutscene even said that he fought for decades, imagine doing that for years, yet still falling to darkness. It was his fate.

    I honestly feel like this was the best way to end the shadow of Mordor series. Like Shelob knew talion wouldn’t win, he would finally turn and join the 9 and become the new nazgul. She knew celebrimbor would fail and Sauron would win this battle. That and it gives us a back ground story of one of the nazgul and a background we all came to know and love which is talion. And any items you didnt want you could then destroy for that mirian. Mirian is used for those loot boxes (if you didnt know) so loot boxes are irrelevant when it comes to the game. And when you do fail a siege or something you learn from those mistakes and get better soldiers from what you can get, i have good orcs and I dont use loot boxes.

    Talion even though his wraith abandoned him, took the ring of the fallen nazghul and used its own power to stay alive and keep the evil forces from taking over everything. I've thoroughly enjoyed both games but the thing that really nags me is that over the course of both, we've been following a character in Talion who's biggest wish was to be reunited with his family, that was his ultimate goal and driving force. Now, I'm sure he did, but it would've been great to see it - Almost like the ending of Gladiator; terrific games but just lacked on that one thing.

    In the scene with Talion walking into the light, he still has pale skin and blue eyes, which were a side effect of Celebrimbor resurrecting and entering his body, despite the fact that he is free from Celebrimbor's influence at this point and is also, well, dead. Originally he was tan and had brown eyes. Not sure if this was a lack of attention to detail or intentional, however.

    Thanks for uploading this. I'm trying to get to that end but defending the fortresses is damn difficult even after they cut down the number of stages/sieges. The scene when Talion falls into the darkness is tragic and heart-wrenching. The Witch-king didn't even need to do anything at this point, the ring did the job-no matter how strong willed a person was and what were his intentions they eventually became enslaved by the its power (while Shadow of War is obviously an AU and not very faithful to the Tolkien's lore to begin with it shows that aspects quite well I think). But that final scene, Talion finally finding peace in death and moving on is truly beautiful and with very nice symbolism. First he leaves his cloak-a symbol of his past duty as the captain at the Black Gate. Armguard/braces-the time when he was a Nazgul with no free will of his own. Dropped sword-the fight is over. The dagger/broken sword is a memory of his son and white blooming flower of his wife.

    • @9pmInTokyo
      @9pmInTokyo Před 6 lety +18

      Yeah, as the above guy said.
      Isildur was dominated, but Talion freed him (probably because he was once a King of Gondor). Celebrimbor got mardy about it (he was always an annoying character) and left Talion for dead but Shelob helps him get Isildur's ring which makes him have Ringwraith powers/deathlessness again. Cele merged with elf-woman and fought Sauron, almost dominated Sauron but Sauron cut the elf-woman's little finger and ring finger off and that freed Sauron and then Sauron just grabbed Cele and merged with him thus making the Eye of Sauron...

      On a certain level, they are reunited due to their deaths. Talion is no longer under the effect of the rings and has died. That's about as good as his ending will get.
      And seeing how the dead were raised, I do not think human afterlife is all that great in Tolkien's books. But seeing this ending, I believe this will be the last of Talion. He's done. He's finished. He did his mission and helped Middle Earth, even if he was part of the invasion he tried to hold back.
