I Have Kids in my Sack she spent the whole time condemning the rings and saying that it’s evil and it twists whoever wields it they become evil yet the second she gets a chance to puts it on
Kinda weird how she protested talion bearing the ring because of the chance of him becoming a ring wraith but didn't require much convincing to take the ring herself
Lewis Murphy celebrimbor kind of corrupted the biatch
Talion said that Celebrimbor's Ring isn't the same and Elf Chick said something like "We'll see". She probably came to conclusion that the ring didn't corrupt Talion after all like Sauron's Ring did and then saw what good she could do with it in a fight against evil. Aaand theen... She got corrupted. XD
That's not "sloppy writing". It would be sloppy writing, if character was like single minded robot, who wouldn't change their mind.
well remember what the ring does to the mind of anyone who is not a baggins....
The ring wasn’t made to corrupt, but power still can. Just because the ring wasn’t in her mind corrupting her doesn’t mean she wasn’t tempted by the power it had.
After seeing Talion finally do the one thing she couldn't, of course she would be convinced. And dominating Sauron? Forever ridding evil AND the Nazgul? Of course she would take the ring. She knew Talion would muck things up after seeing him just... Kill the Nazgul. And Celebrimbor was more than willing to sacrifice his vessel for a new one.
I love how the whole game, Eltariel’s purpose is kill the Nazgul but the one time someone does exactly that... she practically kills them
FunnyMadd Games it’s hard to resist the power of a ring. She’s tired of fighting and not gaining ground and thinks dominating them will make things easier/better
+Amanda Logan Making excuses for Eltariel but not Celebrimbor? They're the same thing. Not to mention this game makes the high elves look evil, when in reality all the evil ones died in the First War, Celebrimbor was a good guy and Talion & Eltariel don't exist. And Galadriel wasn't a bitch either
How many times in history has someone made a mistake in thinking they knew what the right thing or best thing to do was? To her, the breaking of Sauron's hold and bringing order might seem liek a better plan, and she might feel she can hold back some of Celebrimbors more extreme tendencies afterwards.

Can we just agree on one thing? Talion is legitimately one of the strongest characters in the lord of the rings. He is legitimately op and i will never change my mind
Edit: for anyone seemingly upset at the fact I called Talion a LOTR character, yeah i guess I could use Shadow of Mordor instead, but he is technically a property of lotr so I don't completely understand the anger
Yeah, talion an sam-wise are the best lotr characters.
Talion's not a real Lord of the Rings character. Good gameplay, but the story is a cheap slap in the face to the books.
@@easttowest7839 it isn't, they made it pretty clear in the beginning that they wanted to just create their own story here. People are so annoying with this. Its a pretty good game that takes some of the story of the books and recreates it in a different world. How is that so hard to grasp?

The Witch-king of Angmar: _"You fool. No living man can kill me."_
Instead of Eowyn giving the oneliner, "I am no man," Talion should've been like with glowing eyes:
_"I am not living."_
Sometimes I wonder about that. "No man can kill me." Then she says, "I am no man." So she was able to kill him just because she was a woman?
I feel like that's similar to Revenge of the Fallen, "only a Prime can defeat the Fallen." And Optimus being the only one able to just because he's a Prime.
@@CinemaSongscovers The only reason Eowyn was able to kill the Witch-King is because Merry had just stabbed him with the knife he got from the barrow-wight den in the books. The movies don't explain this, but the knife is enchanted and this affected the Witch-King. Eowyn stabbing him in the face was the final blow. Without Merry's knife, it's almost certain the result would have been very different. Remember how Aragorn lit the Nazgul on fire and they came back later in the movie like nothing happened?
And with the whole Prime thing, I always assumed it was just because non-primes weren't strong enough to deal with The Fallen and would lose the fight.
@@CinemaSongscovers I'm not sure if you have read the books, but in the hooks Glorfindel the elf prophesies,"Not by the hand of a man shall he fall".The Witch King hears this and assumes Glorfindel is saying that no man is powerful enough to kill him. That is not true. It is extremely hard to kill the Witch King but not impossible and as in the case of the prophecy in Macbeth,it is a literary quibble. The Witch King is killed by a *Woman* because of his overconfidence that no man can kill him and of course Merry's enchanted Barrow Blade.
@@CinemaSongscovers There are multiple layers to that, and semantics are ALWAYS important in prophecy. The actual prophecy was "Not by the hand of man shall he fall".
Layer 1: Merry. Meriadoc Bradybuck is a hobbit, not a man. Man, in LOTR, refers to Humans under most circumstances.
Layer 2: The Barrow Blade. Merry's "Sword" is an ancient weapon, wrought by men, yes, but imbued with Magic, and embedded with vengeful malice over centuries by the Barrow Wights that the Witch King created by corrupting the Barrow Downs of Arnor
Layer 3. Eyown. Eyown is a woman. she qualifies for the prophecy by a secondary interpretation of the word "Man".
You've also confused how prophecies generally work. Unless there's a specific magic at work (There isn't in this case), Prophecies don't explicitly limit who CAN, only who WILL. Glorfindel's prophecy isn't him saying, "There's no man alive capable of killing the Witch King" it's him saying "I've seen the future, and I know how the witch King dies". And it's quite possibly cryptic on purpose, to make the Witch King arrogant in his own strength.
Similarly, Take the story of Macbeth.
"No man born of woman shall kill you". That's what the three witches tell Macbeth. They literally just told him how he would die, but he interpreted it as "Nobody can kill me"
There's a huge semantic difference between "Can" and "Will".
@@CinemaSongscovers Macbeth died because some dude was born out of a c-section. Prophesies are vague and technicalities are usually the cause of death.

I never really thought she was villainous in this story, she was definitely more of a do what needs to be done kind of person who knew not to trust Celebrimbor and wanted Talion to do what needed to be done so he could find peace, Sauron could be defeated, and Middle Earth would be safe. riddly mcmagic He couldn't. You think he would be able to do that when his throat is cut and bleeding? If it were not for plot armor, he would be dead.
I just think it would be a cool boss fight. Think about it,Talion and Celebrimbor duking it out, with the ability to either accept your fate as a nazgul, but continue to resist sauron, or put on the new ring and continue to resist sauron with both rings giving you different abilities and going to 2 completely different endings, because this game isn't canon, defeating sauron with the power of the new ring,or becoming a slave to him under the influence of Isuldur's ring. I think that would've been cool, thats all. But he does have some serious plot armour.

Am I the only one wondering how Talion maintains control over the armies Celebrimbor helped him dominate after his separation from Celebrimbor?
Isaac Allen it is most likely that the orcs can only see talion and therefore they do not know of calebrimbor
Doesn't matter who they can see, the domination came from the ring and the wraith not Talion's appearance. I imagine it's a plot hole they really didn't want to get elaborate on to fill in. I mean over all I felt like the ending was a bit rushed.
I think they kept it how it was due to all the progress you would lose if they followed the story. Most players wouldn't react well to start all over from scratch.
Raymond Colon especially if they have to fight the monster of orcs they created like.
Has all the buffs but no weaknesses
Talion does keep all of his abilities that he had with Celebrimbor, therefore it is possible that he maintained some of the power needed for them to still see him as the one that turned them.
To me, Elves were always evil, even in Tolkien's original works. They acted high and mighty, but whenever they had the chance to do something to better the lot of those around them, they did nothing. Even worse, they abandoned their supposed allies time and again, leaving them to clean up the mess the Elves created in the first place.
@Oliver Emmett Knox Pick your universe. Either you are defending Tolkien elves here or you are talking Dragon Age elves.

Hey only some orcs have iron will, but Sauron does not?
No, Sauron is even more powerful than the orcs so he took over Cerebrimbor.
Sauron's eyes turned blue. If Celebrimbor kept his hold a little longer, he would've dominated Sauron. Also, at the end, they became ONE. Sauron didn't have control of Celebrimbor. They were fighting inside the eye until the Very End. Oh and How do you manage to spell Celebrimbor's name wrong?
He was stating that orcs can resist domination but for some reason sauron cannot.
The OC was basically asking why is this lol.
redviper57 The orcs resist because of the hold the Nazgul and Sauron had over them, like a trace of them remains, but if Sauron looses control all of the orcs and Nazgul are cut loose to do what they desire, so by that if Celibrinbor dominates Sauron there is nothing to resist him
Guess him slowly losing counts as shaming? :D But if you remember, Sauron isint at his strongest, since he doesnt have his ring.

@@JohnyMiko it rhymes
@@trystanardithya7344 I thought the joke was that you cannot do such a thing to Mordor as restordor ordor
After discussing it with my brother who is a huge fan of this series I came up with this theory. The ring Talion and Celebrimbor both made the new ring. They each put something of themselves in it. When Celebrimbor tried to control sauron it was doomed to fail because without Talion who together succeeded in dominating a nazgul could not make full use of the new ring. But this is just a theory and nothing more.
Also, celebrimbor said to talion once “we crafted a ring” while laughing after talion telling celebrimbor he crafted the ring.
Also Sauron said that losing Ranger was a mistake. Meaning he probably knew that what the ring was really made of.
I also feel like it was never going to really work. It barely works on captains. If they could break free then that would not last long.
I'm late to the party. But there is a throwaway line where talion asks celebrimbor "how much of your soul was lost in that ring?"
So not only does that coincide with your theory but probably explains why celebrimbor was suddenly so hellbent on domination.
On top of everything everyone else already added, Shelob also says she saw a future where it was Talion with Celebrimbor and they actually defeated Sauron, again proving your theory
After getting the ring I wanted to fight celebrimbor with my new powers so badly. Soo badly. I was so hype when I got my new ring. I'll take my new ring over celebrimbor's any day.

I wish Talion never would've given in to the Dark Lord and died. Talion was the homie.
I hope if they make another game that Eltariel isn't the main character. That'd piss me off so much.
The Grand Director I think it would be cool that if there’s another game that Eltariel and Celibrimbor are the villains. We see that Eltariel answers gelebrimbors call after the one ring is destroyed. And we also know that Celebrimbor is practically evil at this point and I wouldn’t be surprised if Eltariel is corrupted by the new ring.
To be fair it's implied that the hatred of his betrayal is in part what fuels him to be corrupted by the ring, and like the previous comments that 80 years is a long time to last but in the end he does finally get peace which makes me happy
@@datwhiteboi6256 Hmm, till now i thought it was other way around, that his pure hatred towards Celebrimbor was the reason why she was able to resist that long.
Corruption is inevitable for anyone who would dare to wear a ring of power. Some are more resistant to it, but hatred or no, corruption is ultimate end for every ring-bearer(with exception of Elven three). For dwarven rings, it was corruption by greed, for humans it was corruption by power.
@@HanithSVK The rings of power dont corupt you unles some one ( mainly Sauron ) has and uses the one ring. Afcorse exeption is if you have the one ring itself. And dont use the game as a reference its not canon in any way if it was cannon then Talion wasnt gona be alive but if he was the nazgul ring was not gona corupt him.
Celebrimbor was no better than Sauron in the end. For greed and malice is not only found in the souls and hearts of men, but also in all things living, regardless how innocent or true their intentions may start as. For greed is the basis of all living beings.

This shows how Celebrimbor isn’t there anymore, all that’s left is a power hungry husk of what once was, in the Bright Lord DLC he only builds an army to defeat Sauron and save his family and in Shadow of Mordor he did not seek dominion over Mordor, at that point he just wanted vengeance on Sauron as at the end of the game he’s ready to release Talion and accept never defeating Sauron, finally realising how it’s a goal unlikely to be accomplished but in Shadow of War he slowly just wants power over anything as you progress further into the story, he values power over vengeance as he can say in the game how he used to think of his family every second but not anymore and he becomes more sadistic, deranging Brûz leaving him constantly crying and in pain and with the Gondorians he wants nothing to do with them and says to Talion how they’re doomed either way and won’t last long and finally he leaves Talion to die despite how much they’ve been through, just for power.
Celebrimbor is a tragic figure and a much more tragic character than talion. Talion was able to reunite with his family while celebrimbor couldn't since it's likely that his family was reincarnated and confined to the world. He was a good elf but being a wraith made him lose himself. There is still a small part of him that's sane, when celebrimbor stared at talion's body when he betrayed him, you can detect some hidden regret.
Actually he already had plans to usurp Sauron when he was still wearing Sauron's ring. Defeating Sauron would have allowed him to carry out all of his plans, but the One Ring returned to its master when Celebrimbor was so close to victory.

@@omarnewman691 ... of Mordor
Back when I first played this game, I was a bit dumb and was just listening to and accepting everything I heard. But after hearing and seeing this cutscene over and over, I now realise how crap this was.
Eltariel was bugging Talion about the New Ring ever since they first met, even if for a good reason, and even after helping her take out some Nazgul and three of the Nine she doesn't give him any (outward) respect. She's also been dogging Celebrimbor too for making the New Ring AND the Rings of Power in general, and now when she's finally witnessed a Nazgul being killed for real and is at the doorstep of his master, Eltariel chooses Celebrimbor and his ring over Talion, someone who has fought to protect Middle-Earth in an eternal fate between living and dying? "Our sacrifices are not in vain. This is the only way." my ass! She was just blinded like Celebrimbor was, only not by power, but by victory over Sauron!
Talion didn't deserve ANY fate he met in the Shadow games. First he was killed on the Black Gate by Sauron's literal right-hand man in an effort to bring Celebrimbor to them, next he was forced to make his own Ring of Power to combat Sauron, knowing how dangerous those things were, then he was betrayed by the only friend he had in his new life AND someone who helped him throughout Mordor. Though he was used in SoM, Talion and Celebrimbor were becoming close over the course of the game, and now near the end of this one he's left to die? And after all that effort to get to Sauron, dominating Orcs and beasts and ravaging Mordor, his last ditch effort forces him to become a half-Nazgul and hold back Mordor for decades, eventually becoming one of the Nazgul and not being freed until the One Ring and Sauron are finally destroyed, with Talion perishing in the aftermath.
Oh, and let's not forget how much he was dogged by Eltariel in her DLC. Eltariel suddenly becoming the morally-right protagonist and Talion becoming the whipping boy/victim is just plain bullshit. I always thought back then that this was sometime during the end of the Shadow Wars, but again, I was dumb at that time. Talion was turned into a Nazgul and Eltariel remains alive, and is hinted to be the next protagonist in the series if there's ever a third game.
Damn it, Talion deserved MUCH better than this. So much pain, loss, betrayal and sins he didn't want to go through or commit, all for this...
I wish, that in the next game(if there ever be one), we will take over some new character, who will track down Elthariel and they gave us choice either slit her throat or blade in the gut. She was so insufferable i couldn't even finish that DLC. Gosh, i want to shame her till the end of time and with Celembribor watching. Or shame her till she became deranged and then serve her to my ORC army as a gift.

Pretty easy thing to say to the guy who is sacrificing everything and bleeding out on the ground while you traipse off with no repercussions.
I hate how the whole game Eltariel doesn’t shut up about how bad the ring of power is and then the second she can get a ring she just forgets about the whole rings are bad and just takes it despite her knowing it will kill Talion because what he didn’t want to keep the Nazgûl trapped she is so stupid
Cuz this was her one shot to solve the Sauron problem permanently
The scene is self explanatory. She sees that this ''perfect ring'' in Celebrimbor hands allows to dominate Isildur Wringwraith's form, cutting him-off completely of Sauron's influence. Seeing is believing. All she could do before was endlessly banishing the Wringwraiths she would beat, but they were always returning. This time, she knows they can be dominated/killed permanently and THAT IS THE TASK that Galadriel gave her. Besides, Celebrimbor is done with Talion after he releases Isildur. Celebrimbor wanted him as his fighter, so Talion's attachment to his former Humans species is bad for the Elfs who are constantly called to mop Humans' gaffes and mistakes. Talion f* up and he found out.
@@Juicexlx except for her lack of doing anything against the wraiths in fact he was doing HER job he banished the wraith so why would she do that when he was doing what her job is for her he killed one permanently so using her mission as a reason contradicts it because talion killed it permanently
