Yeah, the one (IMO) bad piece of writing is this scene with Celebrimbor and Eltariel. I can't remember where I saw it, but one of the devs admitted she was only inserted into the story to act as a catalyst for Celebrimbor's betrayal. I actually liked her character up to this point and didn't care that she was a stuck-up bitch (if you read the Silmarillion, you'll see that pretty much all the elves of the First and Second Age were). She served as a good antagonist to Celebrimbor and his rings, while being somewhat sympathetic to Talion's plight. It's doing a complete 180 out of nowhere and going against everything she stood for that ruins it. Instead of giving her a damn DLC, there should have been a cutscene where Galadriel gives her a sound thrashing for her stupidity! If anyone deserved a DLC besides Baranor (which I thought was excellent) it should have been Ratbag!

Unlike Helm Hammerhand who (yes I know his story is nothing like the books) was still alive when Annatar / Sauron gave him a ring. I didn't even consider them using Earnur. He does get a couple mentions when Idril is describing some of the Gondorian artifacts. And I agree, the devs could have had a heyday with his story, which would have made more sense. I do get why they went with Isildur, because not everyone who plays the game has read the books, yet most have likely seen the films and will know who he was.

While I like these games Isildur in the books would never have fallen to Sauron. In lore he takes the ring more out of pride with the intent to use it for good, and his rule while he's in Gondor is considered to be benevolent if anything. When he inherits Arnor he's come to the realization that he's unable to control the One Ring, and so he decides to make a pitstop in Rivendell to speak with Elrond with the intent to give the Ring over to the Elves. He describes using the ring as "bringing him great pain" and if anything is eager to be rid of it.
When they are attacked on the road he outright refuses to use the ring even at the urging of his sons, he only relents when his last living Son begs him to use it to escape. The Ring betrays Isildur over the fact that it really CAN'T control him (at least not as well as it might otherwise) and so it leaves him. When it does right before his death Isildur finds great relief it it being gone, not sadness or some desire to get it back. He's of course killed shortly after this happens.
Assuming he WAS dragged before Sauron the Dark Lord would find it impossible to control him, as his will was profound. This isn't to say he was impervious to the Ring's evil, just that he was resilient to it.

we can't know that. simlarilon doesn't go into psychology of isildur in that detail; the narrative you present is derived from unfinished tales, which were written post tolkien's death, and might be considered as canon as this game
