This is my exact problem right now.. the pinched nerve in neck. On and off for 6 months or so. Was doing some of these wrong things Doc here mentioned. Did HIS correct things and definitely much better. I believe many of these other channels have so so advice. Example: every one which recommended the chin tuck didn’t include the roll down. THATS the part that works. Also, some recommended the forced chin tuck, forced head tilts, severe arm stretching / head tilt and the severe traction techniques etc. I believe this crap prolonged my progress. THIS guy here makes SO MUCH SENSE ! Mechanically the way everything works and the appropriate application of movement and pressure/ stress . I could go on. Just started these correct exercises today. Best day in three weeks. Not a perfect day BUT WTF! I’m gonna JOIN this channel. I have a bucket list in my retirement here and nothing is gonna stop me👍🏻

    Quite right. Wonderful video.
The problem with all the other PT videos about trapped nerves and cervical radiculopathy etc is that there's no specific diagnosis.
They all recommend chin tucks, but they make (made) my pains down the arms much worse.
Gentle, very gentle movements are the way forwards. For me at least. Since I stopped doing all the recommendations from other channels, my pain has *improved*. Get that.
I just do simple hand traction for about 2 seconds. And only do it about 3 times.
    And simple shoulder shrugs.
Thanks for the video. I hope as many people watch it as possible.

I had bulged disk on my neck since 2019 after a car accident. The first two years i was in physical therapy after i tried chiropractor I did all those exercises. I got better but not better enough to go back to work because it became problems with my shoulders and arms. They never told me the shoulders shrug and and double chin exercise together with a little weight, until I whatch one of yours videos that I got some relief. I'm continuing with the exercise and add more weight whenever I feel I'm read for it. Thank you so much ❤ for your videos they are so much help.

Wow everything you showed to avoid is what they do at my physical therapy. I have neck herniation on the left side. Every morning I wake up with stiffness in shoulders and rhomboid pain. Can you please do a video on how to sleep properly with neck herniation so you don’t have stiffness. Sleeping on back with thin pillow still didn’t help.

I had two discs in my neck fused ten years ago. This year it's gotten bad. It started with tingling in my arm, then got bad as it worked its way down my back behind my shoulder. I got an epidural in my neck which worked like magic, the second worked but the last two did not. I got an MRI with some bulging and some arthritis (I am 74). I had a nerve test but it didn't show any weakness. Now after PT (no help), and acupunture (no help), the doc suggested two disks to be fused. I just came upon your video and have started your exercises which are different than what was shown to me. I am scheduled to get it done Dec 5th. I am going to do these exercises like a madman so perhaps if it works every time I get numb and in pain, I will call off the operation. I haven't been able to golf for a month because my left arm hurt. Your thoughts?

Hi Sir. Im confused,in your 5 best herniated disk exercise video you say chin tucks and stretching the neck with a towel are good for a herniated disk but in this video you say they are bad for this condition. Im a little confused.

    • @-Dr.PRO-

I think he is trying to say that repeated wrong aggressive painful repetions are what makes an exercise contraindicated. So do these 5 exercises and while you do it, stop on the range of motion you start feel pain. If you watch the video he says not to push it forcefully.

I know this is for disc problems. I had therapy that used most of these exercises you referenced. I got worse developing numbness and tingling in my left hand. After therapy I had an MRI that showed a benign cyst between C5 and C7. Are there exercises that are safe for me? Surgery was not recommended.
