    Just did this to my C230 MB with the same gray interior. Completely cleaned the areas described. Looks like brand new. I didn't really have to apply that much pressure either. Thank you so much for the tip Darren.

    Why does everyone show on darker surfaces? I have a C6 with tan interior and this doesn't work as well as said. It takes out a good percent but not all of it. I have a concours this weekend and those little marks can cost me points. Not I am not saying it doesn't work, just not as easy or works as well on lighter interior. I had to scrub hard and they still did not all come out. I love the magic sponge, I own a video game store and we use it to remove sharpie marks on the old cartridges. But I also notice when we do that the texture will change afterwards which concerns me for a car.

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail  Před 9 lety +1

      Terry Tang They do abrade most any surface if used hard and long enough. I think what you are experiencing on dark interiors is that the plastic of material has been damaged and it shows up on dark material better than light. The Magic Erase will not fix this damage and simply removes the dirt and transfer. But the damage is concealed to begin with by the light interior. For this reason I usually follow up on dark materials with an aresol dressing to conceal any damage to the material that cannot be cleaned away.
      Maybe this page will help:www.best-auto-detailing-tips.com/car-interior-dressing.html

    • @terrytang7856
      @terrytang7856 Před 9 lety

      When I said dark surfaces I meant every video I have seen is people doing it on dark interiors not light. I will admit my high heels do make marks in both my C3 & C6. The C3 has has black interior and my C6 has tan. The magic eraser did not take out all the marks in the C6. And they are not damage marks either, they are scuff marks. One things that worked rather well was using a de-greaser and my Scum Buster with the soft brush. There is still a very light mark and I hope I don't get points off because of it. This is a NCCC concours and people mark you off for 1 hair in the car. I just purchased the C6 so I was dealing with someone elses mess. I do appreciate your video, just maybe next time show it with a light interior.

    • @autofetishdetail
      @autofetishdetail  Před 9 lety

      Terry Tang My wife has a MBZ c230 with light interior and have used it to show how to clean floor mats and using the Magic Eraser to remove the scuffs on the light colored threshold plates. You can see it here: czcams.com/video/nZkFKNWrLcU/video.html
      This video shows me working on the same light colored floor mats from the same car: czcams.com/video/ZHn2DfH6on8/video.html

And the dealership said theyd be able to take it out, but i kind of want to try this magic eraser idea as those things work wonders for surfaces around my house. SO with that said, any thoughts? Has anyone done this before? I'd hate to make it even worse! Thanks Guys and Gals !

    • @antandshell

      Try it on a test spot hidden before you use it as it does put in very light scratches depending how hard you use it. Let the dealership install a new piece. If it has a high gloss stay away from it.

    Good Info but it should go like this. Spray black marks with a over the counter cleaner de-greaser, scrub with magic eraser-done. Oh if all the black marks didn't come off try again. This was a ten min video that had good info and it works but really ten minutes. Get it done in one. I could of cleaned four cars by the time this video was done. Thanks for the info though-it does work.

    I used to detail cars and I know the work involved. When I first started I worked for a rural new car dealer and you could spend four hours on a gravel dust dash. I have evolved and definately appreciate the magic eraser. I'm wanting to get back into it but do pros like you buff cars? It used to scare me because you never knew how many times it had been buffed by a dumbass and you burn through the clear coat on say on a hood angle body line your screwed. Painting a hood would be what a thousand dollars? And now you have a great looking hood but the rest of the car isn't and now it looks like it was in a wreck. Do you just strictly hand Polish and then wax? Or do I need to watch more of your videos?
