    Great to see the enhanced visibility with the lights package affords. Good for safety and enhances the looks of the scooter, especially at night. Fantastic to see such great performance and water resistance at this price point. We need a comparison video with some of the other lightweights maybe the Apollo AirPro, Ninebot ES4, Gotrax G4, etc.

    I highly recommend checking out the Ninebot E25A and E45 models. They reintroduce suspension with better foam filled tires. Also they have an increased top speed of 28km/h with very effective rear magnetic braking. I believe these advantages make them a better buy compared to the Okai specs wise.

      Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't heard of the E25A. I like the foam filled tires on our E22. The previous suspension was pretty bad, partly because there was no top-out spring, for the front. Hopefully they've fixed that. Very curious about the magnetic braking. -Paul

      Thanks for the recommendation. I hadn't heard of that one. Based on the battery size and motor power, that scooter will probably cover about the same number of miles as the NEON (14 to 16 miles). It's typical for real world range to = 60% of claimed mfg range.

    Looks cooler, but i'm more interested in a longer range scooter myself. This only goes as far as my gotrax i enjoy a lot (though technically illegal in Saskatchewan, Canada, i've never had a cop stop me and i've had cops see me using one) though the only thing i hate about my gotrax this has better is the ability to fold it... i have constant issues folding my gotrax to no extent! Sometimes i get it first time, but i'm often not getting it until like my 15th or so try. And i'm constantly hitting my leg (when walking) on my gotrax it can be very painful that you need to remember to walk on the other side of it at all times or you will end up with small bruises..
    On the other note, many electric scooters are hard to find in Canada :(

      How much range are you looking for? I might be able to make a couple suggestions. -Paul

    • @wuverrabbit
      @wuverrabbit Před 2 lety +1

      Well I travel 30mins (walking) to and from work 5 days a week typically (1hr total). I have a black gotrax which caps @ 15.4mph and 25?km which i'm having to charge around Thursday as it won't do a full charge for a week @ full battery (i floor it when i can as i absolutely love being on it!). I've always had my eyes on the emote? one that does a super long one even though it takes SUPER long to charge, but as it's technically illegal to own an escooter, it's even harder to find someone (besides amazon) that even carries them. My black gotrax isn't anything fancy though i will tell you how my ankles can sometimes be a nice shade of red hauling it up from hitting me when i forget which side the kickstand is on! Though i'd like to take it places (besides work that i know it'd be secrure), i fear i'd never find a good lock that would be able to fit inbetween the tires and everyone always imagines i have an ebike which i don't when i mention an "escooter" including those that tell me "just put a lock between the bars of your bike" .... Though being Saskatchewan, we have horrible winters so it only gets used for a short period of time.

    • @wuverrabbit
      @wuverrabbit Před 2 lety +1

      I'm "ok" with it. Just hard to find any place with Canadian prices. It gets me from point 1 to point 2 easily enough and is rather easy to fall off quickly if i need to and does decently in the wicked cold (with no snow). Just would like more distant on a battery as I am -not- into biking at all. People always tell me I should just buy an ebike instead of a scooter but I am not interested in a ebike. My knees just won't take into biking and would probably take me longer to get home than my scooter would. (any little hill i feel like a marathon to get up and i often get off from the pressure of having to bike up it). But sometimes in summer i like to scooter over and say meet up with a coworker before work and if i do that (she doesn't live that far from work) i have to make sure to keep a better job on the battery life as i'll probably have to charge it probably wed and then sunday again if i go about going anywhere with it on the weekend.

    • @wuverrabbit
      @wuverrabbit Před 2 lety +1

      15.4mph is more than fine with me on speed. a good number of times i have to go slower as i live in a very heavily residential area in Canada. The website is pounds........ and i'm looking for something in $C... (unless they're willing to ship free to canada... but if that was the case, i could probably find something similar in $C/$US that would ship free... hopefully lol) I bought my gotrax from amazon canada and do adore that it doesn't take long to charge, but i really need more of a distant with it... i can leave it all night, i don't mind of a longer range but not a fast charge like the emove? Again, technically escooters are illegal so i like something that doesn't seem like it's so easy to spot but has a good battery to it. I don't think cops really care about my scooter so unlike most people who do ebikes/bites/scooters around here, i do wear a helmet (bluetooth too!) and i bought gloves since my hands tend to slip a bit but buying any kind of bag to hold a drink is a rather difficult and only stays in place if i put it on the red clip it has that holds it in place when folded down which in itself is a nightmare to do!)

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  Před 2 lety

      Hiboy makes a great basic scooter. Very good bang for the buck. Hiboy build quality and support are their weak spots. The Okai feels way newer and is all together a much nice build. The Hiboy is going to be faster and have longer range, but the ride quality (especially the front tire) isn't going to feel as good. I'm hoping Hiboy has improved their customer service situation, but 6 months ago I was hearing reports that people were having difficulty buying parts when out of warranty. They've been growing rapidly though, so that could just be teething pains. -Paul

      the ninebot g30lp regularly goes on sale at best buy for about $650 with the seat option included. I think thats the best bargain. It handles rain great and built well. If you go any cheaper you're going to sacrifice built quality, water resistance, and reliability. The seat on the ninebot makes it unique in that price point. You might not care, but after you ride with a seat you will see why its a nice option for a lazy day ride. G30LP is 19mph top speed and gets up 15 miles on a battery.

      This is a great question @GDG Fury! The M365 and Pro versions are really poorly distributed in the US. The Pro never officially came here, so when I spoke to Xiaomi, they said they will not provide warranty support for it here.
      A big question is how far you need to go. If your commute is 5 miles or less each way and you can charge at work, almost every scooter will cover the range.
      If you're brand new to scooters, the Okai Neon is really good, one of the easiest scooters to ride. If you want something just a touch sportier, the Apollo Air Pro is one of our favorites in that price range. The Air Pro has suspension up front and air filled tires, so it will have a little smoother ride. The Okai has a solid rear tire, and suspension at the rear. It lets the pneumatic tire handle suspension duties at the front.

      Should be in the manual! If they did not include one you can email CS for a pdf manual. Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk

      If you're in Germany, your scooter won't be street-legal with the change, plus your required insurance will be invalid.

    16mph is just too slow for anyone. I put my old mom on my scooter and she was gunning to full speed (19mph). The main reason to keep a ninebot around is that it handles wet weather great and is built well. Even that feels like a snail speed after riding electric unicycles, I couldn't imagine 16mph feeling too good.

      I'm sure it feels better than walking 😅. This will make my 25-30 min walking trips to work be like 7-10 min trips I'm all in for that

      What problems have you been having with the app? I send them feedback from time to time and can let them know. -Paul
