(1) Hermione dropped three huge hints about liking Ron in just two minutes
(2) Ron spectacularly failed all of them.
It seems to me, that Hermione herself is surprised how hard she hit on
Ron and just starts chugging that butter beer through the rest of the
scene, haha.
Amargaladaster She did pick up that glass of hers suspiciously quickly!
Amargaladaster The second chug was a deliberate test to see if Ron would wipe off the foam. She didn't exactly pick it up casually, haha. Hermione dropped three not-so-subtle hints about Ron in two minutes and he spectacularly failed all of them. Bloody hell.

I love the fact that after the scene, when they're walking back to Hogwarts, Hermione walks a bit in front of the boys and Ron goes "Have you heard what she said about snogging me?", under his breath, but then Hermione falls back a bit and walks along with the boys again.

A lot of Harry's reactions in the book were in his thoughts, I kinda wish that they made Daniel Radcliffe like make a quick angry face or something to show he was upset about it. Harry wouldn't go too far but a quick look of displeasure every now and then might've helped sell that Harry truly liked Ginny. I'm rambling sorry

Harry was very angry and was trying very hard not to show it in the books. He kept telling himself that it's because he has got brother like feelings for Ginny. But in here ,Harry is more focused on Draco than Ginny,and didn't even noticed this until Ron said so

I loved it when Hermoine was giving clear hints to Ron and he was still trying to look like he got nothing. In fact Hermoine knowingly made that mustache from Butterbeer because she thought Ron might clean it,like he tried to do at the Burrow when she had Papermint on her lips. Unfortunately Ron isn't that quick grasping as Harry😂

What sticks out in my mind is Hermione almost CHUGGING that beer.
And in the next scene you can see she is drunk, probably she wanted to get drunk after her embarrassing confession and hints without Ron's proper reaction.
That's funny because a few minutes later all trio had to go to McGonagall about cursed neckless so she had to quickly get sober

Watched the scene again, and found that Harry's vision was locked onto Slughorn the entire time. His mind was on the mission Dumbledore gave him then, probably that's why he didn't think too much on the Ginny matter.

It’s called poor acting. You will notice that a lot from Emma Watson I’m the HP films. She “over acts” a lot. Very noticeable from the 4th film on.

Would have been more awesome if they showed how jealous and triggered Harry was after seeing Ginny and Dean snogging like in the book instead of obsessing over Slughorn. In the book, Harry didn't care a bit about Slughorn despite Dumbledore telling him to get close to the professor.

Fiebie Nietveld No they have alcohol. Winkie the house elf got drunk. They are probably only about 1-2% ABV though as you never see humans get drunk from them. Not dissimilar to “small ale” which was basically watery beer drank back when water was unsafe to drink.

Tassie coins and bullion I think Winkie was drinking firewhisky. Which definitely is alcohol. Because they first started drinking butterbeer at 13 which would be underage drinking if the said drink was containing alcohol. Such a scene won’t be expected in a children’s book/ movie.
