Total Destruction! Engine Block Carnage! 2017 Kia czcams.com/video/tw0dGnYistY/video.html
Ooo!!! I wish to see Carnage! Thank you Ray!
Ray...you've got to tell us how many hours you had for repairs in the 1st. segment...
I feel SOOOO bad for Ray! Think about it; he has to deal with the exploits of Florida Man every single day he shows up to work...
upvote for the 1984 reference. People must read 1984 and a Brave New World,
I would like to say, In the morning and thank you for your courage.
A Robin Williams line keeps coming to me when I see particular elements of your work. And I quote: "Oh shit, gravity works!"
I think the basic question for any mechanic is this, does removing obstructions save time versus struggling to reach or fit in to tight areas. The answer always seems to be the method not chosen.
It's a cost benefit ratio. more menial work is expended in removing something in the way. if we can find a harder but shorter way, then harder and shorter it is. some shops need quick turnarounds otherwise they lose money. Not saying it isn't a good thing to do good work, but if the clients want quick work you have to make quick choices. I think pimp my ride did more damage in falsifying how much work can be crammed onto one car more than anything else.
An old timer once told me “sometimes the long way home is the sweetest “
Sometimes the long way around is the shortest route.
Some times struggling in tight spots instead of removing obstructions can cause more damage to parts and tools.
There is also the possibility of damage when removing extra parts or the need for new gaskets etc.
Never fails to amaze me Ray. Screws, nuts, bolts, pipes, connectors, wires flying all over the place. Then somewhere in amongst the mayhem a repair it done.
Then a if like magic all this lot goes back in at break neck speed. How the hell you remember where everything goes beats me.
Your vids are pure entertainment. Nothing fazes you , you are a great mechanic. Plenty of gravity and do bee doos as well.
Sitting here in Greece with a Ham baguette and a coffee watching you is pure joy.
You have a great day 😃👍🇬🇷
It may seem crazy, but remembering where that stuff goes is pretty easy when you've been doing it for years.
Awesome to know there are people in other countries watching! Greetings from the U.S.
How to drive Ray crazy? Catch him gone walk past and add one bolt to his parts cart LOL
LOL I love how committed you were to getting that radiator out. It reminds me of the sign I have at my desk. "We promise fast service no matter how long it takes!" lol Keep up the great work, man. Your customers appreciate it and we all appreciate it too.
"I swear... we're all living in a cartoon." along with Orwellian references. Very profound assessment Ray! Happy Monday to ya!
"I Need a Hero" was the Lexus' theme song for Ray, who delivered. That is one happy luxury Toyota once again.
I have done both of these jobs on the daughter's 2006 RX330 and the bottom bracket on the radiator was a pita. Good video showing the job without removing and discharging the AC system.
You never disappoint. Still amazing how you remember where all parts go and which bolts to use. I thought I was good remembering how to put back together. You’re in another dimension! Thank you again Ray
Video helps.
Put the bolts back onto the part that you took off also helps immensely
Another reason to VIDEO disassembly..... you can rewind if you forget stuff!
As a former aircraft mechanic I was constantly removing hundreds of screws from inspection panels for routine maintenance. I would clean the panel, mark it with a sharpie on the inside for the airplane it went on, direction it was oriented, and checked the screws and replaced them if they were damaged, and bagged the screws and attached the bag to the panel. I was the only one in the shop that did this. Everybody else would just throw the screws in a cup and put them on a stand and then go take a break. In the end God will judge these miscreants.
Well that was interesting. Good to see you have a new red tray to but lose nuts, bolts and screws unless you place them back in the part. As always enjoy your knowledge of vehicles. Lo e watching them.😊
You finally have a magnetic parts tray it is hard to believe you went so long without one they are worth their weight in gold.
My brother has so many magnetic trays, but I hate them. They hold stuff well, but then you have to fight to get them back. I prefer little plastic boxes and pots, like butter or yogurt cartons, they'll release the stuff as you want it. (Do finish the contents first, of course.)
Lol throughout this video, you're a human superhuman at mechanics and we all know even superhumans have bad days. The slow motion flinging of the hose clamp was editing excellence, definitely deserving of an academy award. Throughout it all you win because it is your will. Your humor, wit, candor and devotion to doing right by the customer is always a pleasure to witness and enjoy. Do not forget have yourself a great day 👊✌️
Not seeing toyota red coolant in there hurts my soul
I made the same comment before I just found yours... My inner Toyota lover is screaming in agony as I watch the wrong coolant creeping it's way through that engine and prematurely deteriorating everything including the precious special head gaskets that Toyota and these Asian cars use 😭😭😭
The universal extended life coolant he's using is perfectly fine and superior to the OEM coolant.
@@patricksewell2010 That coolant is perfectly fine, there is nothing wrong with it.
@@coolantkid3428 lol
"The gravity is strong today", we need a t-shirt with that :-D
Love starting my week with Ray. Quality and integrity coupled with skill never go out of style and always bring positive results. I’m so glad YT recommended your channel Ray.
Great to see the honest to goodness way the job gets done, and in the end no extra parts ,with a job well done!
DEAR SIR:
YOU DO YOUR JOB WITH FULL DEVOTION. EXCELLENT.
Your videos are great! I can watch them all day long. They remind me of my teenage years when I used to work on my own cars and I find them very soothing and nostalgic. You’ve shown me how to accomplish many of the challenges that I had when I was working on cars as a kid, thanks a lot
Do you ever find yourself going “Dooo De Dooo” at home when the phone rings?
This is why I pay someone. This work is so complicated with room for screw ups I would rather have someone like you Ray to do it right.
I am so thrilled to see that natural, excess hand and arm hair length is not a deterrent to handling combustion engines. Jeez. I expected someone to say, "Right turn, Clive" at any point.
"This is the hill I'm going to die on!" Pure class 😀
Excellent work & videos! Thanks man!
I find it totally amazing. At the sheer speed at which you can dismantle and. Re assemble all these little parts.
Any body can unbolt a car. But it takes a certain mind to put the right parts back in the correct order with minimal parts left over.
@@clbcl5 'minimal'! 😂 Hopefully none! 👍
That's what happens when you are paid by the job and not by the hour, you do things the right way first.
@@danjordan1979 well, the parts you swapped should be left over and the new shiny ones gone :D
@@Laurelinad that's a very good point! 😂
I find it amazing how you keep track of all the different parts you have to disconnect and reinstall!👍
While viewing this video I though of a new saying.
The road to frustration is paved with shortcuts.
Informative and entertaining video as always!
Here's a version from a long time ago: _"A shortcut is the longest distance between two points."_
Great finish to the job Ray !
Happy Monday Ray, have a great week!
I am going to do my 04 ES330 timing belt this weekend. Was cool timing to see this one getting done. Saves me time. THANKS.
Buy a aisian timing belt kit with tensioner. Use Asian coolant already mixed, zerex brand if possible. Good luck 👍🍀
YEA one for Ray, no car will beat the superhero of cars
Thank you for the test drive!
It just "amazing" how you remember, where everything goes on your cars. Thank you for sharing!
Always doing good work Ray
Thanks Ray
Thanks for the info on how the proper way to diagnose and repair things.
LOVE YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR.
Always fun to watch and listen to you.
Thanks
Thanks for keeping it real!
The bits and pieces on that engine never end. It’s like they wanted to design an engine with the most nuts, bolts and things to disconnect/remove before you can do anything.
It's almost as if they had an engine, and a chassis, then just added more & more brackets, until it hung where they wanted it, and damn the mechanics who have to work on it!
I love watching your shows Ray. ALWAYS interesting and informative and fun to see.
Keep em coming.
great effort! u really know what to do!
And I also really, really appreciate your great sense of humor
Great 2-part series! Thanks for sharing.
Love your sense of humor Ray
It’s amazing how I like watching you
You make everything look so easy. I’d be fn this and fn that! Great work. You’re one talented guy.
you'll always be my hero Ray
Thanks!
TY Ray, Excellent conclusion to the Lexus repair and I totally enjoyed this adventure, I am sure they were happy to get it back running beautifully again thanks too your skills.
Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘🚗🚗
Another great video. Thanks for the great detail and I’m depth explanations.
I have a set of the profile sockets, love them especially when working on stuff that has a long cord!!!
Another good video thanks.
I was waiting for somebody to beep the horn while Ray was reinstalling them! 🤣
Part 2 thank's , oh yeah! Good day to you Ray.
Another winner Ray. 👍 👍 👍
Great video
Nothing like starting my day with a Ray-diator video!
Good job ray.
Good morning!!
this channel isn't just working on cars, it's a complete experience. tho you should do more grenaded engines :D
Great job! especially for an old guy
I have been watching these videos for a while. I am not a mechanic but I was a technician. I am the guy that take my car into someone like Ray. I can’t stop watching him.
me and my son both have the same rx 330, his has over 260,000 miles on it. still runs great and had a timing belt at 160,000
Ray don't forget to have yourself a great week.👍
Either way sir ,love watching. Like other guy said , it's amazing you know exactly where everything goes 👍👍
And a great day to all. Morning there to you Ray. The 80s song was tribute to you Ray.... ' I need a hero'.
watching both videos noticed these Lexus cars are built on fasteners and brackets galore! gee amazing how Ray put all the stuff back together! great videos R@y
The FORCE is also strong with Ray today 😊
Love the multi-part video.
Victory dolado. I love it. I don't know how you always keep calm. Everything is a hammer at that point.
I can only imagine a lingering customer watching you for a bit, Talking to yourself, Going DooDOdoDoDO ddaaa Looo, and saying click all the time lol.
Ray you NEVER disappoint, always there when i need you! Keep on racheting...Oh no gravity!😀
The dodge sounded awesome 😎❤️❤️👏
You are a good car doctor mechanic.
Age and treachery will often overcome youth and skill, Rainman.
I feel SOOOO bad for Ray! Think about it; he has to deal with the exploits of Florida Man every single day he shows up to work...
"Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime."
Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. However, set a man on fire, and he's warm for the rest of his life.
"Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he gets to sit in the boat and drink all day"
Love the new glasses Ray. See everything is greater detail 🥸
Yay - Ray repairs cars whilst I eat Scottish pancakes for breakfast - perfect morning
Do explain what Scottish pancakes are.
@@jonathanjuillerat9831 They are just like American Pancakes I guess - But these are Scottish shrug 🤷♂️ 100g SR Flour, 1 Egg, 250ml milk - mix - spoon into 3” rounds or bigger. Serve with something sweet like Honey, Maple Syrup, Jam, Cream whatever you like. I guess you could put into oven in- not tried that yet.
I'm disappointed. No whisky...
@@mikejacob3536 Can’t have whisky cos I have to have a Gluten Free diet
@@Vondoodle the very definition of "no true Scotsman"! Wait... You're telling me that you're making pancakes with gluten free flour?
You left us waiting on tenterhooks for this part 2! Clicked on it as soon as I saw it was uploaded. 👍👍
Frustrated Ray is extra "doodley do" funny and entertaining!!!! Thanks Ray, NICE WORK!
Great work as always Ray we all have them Butter Finger days were our hands don't want to hold anything and These seemed like a Rough job kicking ya butt but ya got it done and it's running pretty smooth @Rainman Ray's Repairs
Sometimes there are days with an s and there are days with a z d a z e it happens to the best of us your card don't worry about it have a good day
Nobody and I mean nobody, makes auto repair more fun and interesting than our buddy Ray.
Thanks for the informative video, I will be doing the same job on the same model Lexus soon. Now i know what to remove 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ray if you're old than I'm accent! I was out of college when you graduated high school!! Great job! Can't believe that radiator doesn't have plastic tanks.
Good day to you sir
You came so close a couple times-
I thought for sure you were going to hit that precariously placed
parts tray, sending fasteners flying into the Abyss of Never Never Land.
Now I know why my mechanic charged me what he did when he replaced my RAV4 radiator.Have a nice day Ray.
Glad to hear you like the same beer as me Ray! Cheers 🍻
Ray, Between you and Eric O at SMA I've learned nearly all I could about engine's and how to keep them in top shape. And there is another Eric from "I do cars" channel and in his channel I learned what happens when you grande your engine and or don't take care of it. He buys core engines and tears them down for parts. All in all I feel like I could almost go out and get ASE certified along with other certifications and open up my own shop. haha. But I know the profession goes further than whats in the videos. Good work as always man. Love watching your videos and recommend them whenever I can to people curious about engines and how to take care of them. 👍
It amazing how you remember were everything goes and no extra part's well done.
It’s been nagging at me for months, but it suddenly clicked when yo pondered if you were talking to yourself or to us: it’s what I saw for decades with the best surgeons, talking through each step of each case to keep themselves organized and to reach the staff. We learned so much from those excellent docs.
Hey Dad just remember you have forgotten more than the whippersnapper will ever know.
Ray I think you do a great job on remembering where all the screws go.
Rainman Ray part Deux, the "doodle doos strike back"
After looking at the length of your phalanges, I’m glad you’re a mechanic and not a proctologist!
Them were the days, two hose clips and hoses to remove, four bolts then lift out. You can see why cars are so heavy and the repair costs are so high. Well done Ray.
Those days are long gone, but, it was good while it lasted, It used to be fun😭
Modern car’s are actually lighter because more plastic is used and aluminum rather then stainless steel
I hate these computer vehicles now nothing but problems and costs be better off with a horse and buggy more dependable these jap made crap
jeez..... I think working on pre 70's cars is so much easier
Most were, but those daz are long gone.
Love your Charlie Brown sound effects.
