It's a breath of fresh air among the CES videos. And a great one at that! Very nice hackintosh!
nobody's gonna like ur comment rn
@@the_haakinton8924 It's perfect at 69 *wnnk wink*
The video I’ve been waiting for! Currently in the middle of picking parts for a Ryzentosh SFF workstation.
I love your B-roll shots and I'm gonna use some screenshots as wallpapers.
simple + compact + tiny + beautiful = PERFECT

Next Hackintosh build: Threadripper 3990X.
Mac Pro killer?
+ used apple cinema display, the perfect copycat that better than the original 😛
So a 52k mac pro for 10k makes srnse
Cyberspino a 3990x can not support over a tb of ram. Can’t even support over 256gb. And two Vega ii duos with 64gb of hbm2 had no competition. Unfortunately it’s no contest and I hate to admit it.
@@MisterRorschach90 yeah u are correct about the ram but there's always the epyc that can support a shitload of ram and 4 readeon VIIs
This is absolutely awesome! Great work! I am watching your videos since a while now and love your channel! 👍🏽
Thank you for all the hardware recommendations! This was my first time building a computer. I made a Ghost S1 style case from wood to cut down costs, bought a used RX 5700, and got an AC68 USB WIFI. Today, after weeks of trial and error, I finally have Catalina 15.3 up and running with DaVinci Resolve. I recommend the OpenCore guide, and the Technolli Channel for anyone else who is in over their head like I was.
Man, I swear the exact moment I want something, you post a video with it! last time I was building a custom mech keyboard after your video! these lubed tealios are just dope! and now this, give me a break :D
Congratulations! That's a sweet build. I never really liked hackintosh builds that much. I never felt it was worth the expense of time to get it working 90-95% of the way. I am excited for the second video to see what other successes you can show us. Thank you.
MAN I LOVE YOUR CONTENT,
SOOO CLEAAAANNNN
ENJOY YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH!!!
Kept thinking that logo on your shirt was a crumb😂 even though I KNOW an OT video would never have such an imperfection.
I just discovered your channel and I really like the content. Well done!
Look forward to seeing more videos with this build!
Stoked to discover another Aussie techtuber. 👌
Always with the quality content!
great vid :) looking forward to part 2
Loved the build. Have been looking forward to something like this for a while haha. Could you please go through on how you replaced the wifi and bluetooth card in the motherboard. I'm planning on using the same motherboard for a hackintosh and am so confused as to how this work :(
I love this!
I have an rx 5700 somewhere at home, I was planning on make a small pc with hackintosh with intel, but I really like how these ryzen works, I'll be waiting your update on this cause iCloud is 100% for me.
This video is super clean and sharp even on 1080p, amazing.
You are very straightforward:)
Love it! Best of both worlds!!
Nice work. Ryzentosh has frustrating moments for all. Thanks for making it not look too easy.
Great content as always 👍
Damn, it's crazy how much better things have gotten. My hackintosh crashes sometimes when I run final cut pro too long, but I'm hoping following this will help make things a bit smoother
i love how you answered all my questions
@Selah Mchail badumtss
I love your videos, but especially the hackintosh videos.
I like your style sir, much respect !
Really interesting! Looks doable... if I wanted to. I will be passing it on! Thanks!!!
Nice production quality and scripting. Length was just right. Hope you'll revisit Catalina and non-USB boot.
Sweet, I'll have enough money leftover to afford that $1000 monitor stand with the savings from this build.
@zulfikangga weep
Buuuurrrnnnnn
@@unou588 Most monitors in that price class and higher (for professional use) doesn't actually come with stands.
@@unou588 I disagree, regarding it not being for the professional market.
I agree that one shouldn't compare apples to pears.
@@unou588 Apple is clearly targeting the professional market with the monitor we are discussing.
It is silly to suggest that because they make iPad air for the consumer market this monitor also has to be for the consumer market.
Amazing Video Thx!!!

We had issues with a hackinTosh build several years ago when using the clover boot loader we always ended up having to put in the clover cd to boot. On our 2nd hackintosh build we used the niresh bootloader and that was absolutely flawless. Both hackintosh builds were Intel based. AMD was not even possible then I love seeing all your builds and I'm so happy to see that you did a ryzen hackintosh system well done sir!
I'm on b450 Aorus Elite, everything works great :)
While I don’t need to build a PC at all, I’ve been watching your super-well-done vids and enjoying learning about it. I am a creative pro on the Mac since 1989 and just this morning was curious what the Hackintosh with AMD status was, and viola, a video specifically about that topic. I think the internet is telling me something...
Cool video as always, thank you for for EFI tho
ive been running 2600k (intel from 2011) on my hackintosh, still runs smooth but this year I think finaly i will switch to AMD! :)
You can actually swap out the included WiFi card on that MB. I have the same one and had to do this because of driver conflicts on my system. You just need to remove the screws on the bottom of the MB that screw into the WiFi card enclosure and the screw that keep the two metal parts together and then you have access to the WiFi card and wires for the antenna connectors.
Wi-Fi adapter is not soldering and you can change it. One or two screws in to back side motherboard. You can save antennas with ports
Paul Pletenets I did this on my build as well.
I want that case. It's so perfect
I've Spoken.
Good luck getting one though. Not being in the US sucks hardware wise
This is the way.
I've tried sending an email to louqe directly, I'm still waiting to see if I can get one. I'm in the US by the way.
@@premonitiative if you cant get one just get a nuovolo steck, i got one because of ghost availability and am very happy with it. when you change the feet it is 100% identical
Just be warned that the color match between parts can vary greatly. I got an s1 with two top hats, all at the same time, and none of them are the same color which is really disappointing with how much the case cost.
This is what I've been waiting for. Also, the Dune Case Hackintosh. But that might be too big of a case for your aesthetic.
The quality. Oh yes, the quality!!!!! Awesome!
This is awesome!
Literally only want to do a hackintosh once they figure out AirDrop. That is my number 1 feature I use to get videos and photos on my phone to post on instagram.
You can simply buy a real Airport wifi card out of a real mac and use a PCIE adapter, that will enable AirDrop and Continuity.
Hey Man,
You do a great job with your videos...Professional, Articulate, and Concise. I see you hitting 1M+ subscribers. We say "Aluminum" a little bit different in the States lol.
Cool setup.
Very nice setup
On my Intel based hackintosh was sufficient just to install the Clover EFI Bootloader on the hackintosh's harddrive/ssd, then mount the EFI and transfer all necessary kexts. Remove the flash drive and reboot.
Have you had any issues with audio/video becoming out of sync? I've heard this is one of the biggest issues with content creating on a Ryzen hackintosh.
Hackintosh certainly becoming much more popular everyday!
Nice I have my 9900k as daily driver for a few months now on Catalina as I need latest versions of Xcode running. I’m thinking of picking up parts for 3950x build but seems there quite a few issues with 10.15. I’ll have to wait until later this year when ryzen compatibility improves.
In any case, I’ll also be picking up the 16” MBP just for mobility.
All excellent machines and great video.
Subbed! Great content. Do you have a video where you show your camera and lighting setup ect. for you studio? Would love to see that.
Pretty sure you can pop in a compatible wifi card as a replacement instead of using an m.2 slot. Sick build and fantastic video, thanks!
1:15 you forgot about iMac 😉
Nice build btw. Love the compact case
thought the same first but i guess he excluded the aio's and wants a dedicated device.
i giggled at "maczentosh'. nice touch
that ghost s1 case is sick...
I have spoken...
I'm excited to see a build where you get everything you said you will do on Pt2, plus having the hackintosh to be able to auto-update.
If not, I will just keep rocking my MacBook Pro paired with a Razor Core X /w Vega 64 GPU for rendering edits.
Love the case and detailed explanations.
Will there be an update on cases which support ATX components in small form factor?
thanks that was so helpful
first
I know that the MacBook air wifi card has to go in the m. 2 slot but some supported Broadcom wifi cards are bt modules so you can swap the wifi card which is already on the laptop and save the m. 2 slot
Wow man, beautiful work! Love this minimal and powerful build! (I’m trying to boot my first Catalina Hackintosh with Opencore ... Asus z390-e gaming)
Did you ever succeed?
@@JinnaiT yep 😀 I’m working with this build since september without problems!
@@danienteaqualcosa that's great to hear! It gives me some hope that I might succeed. I'll try it with a Ryzen 5 5600X. Do you have any advice on what GPU to use? I currently am using a GTX 970.
@@JinnaiT sapphire radeon rx 580 8GB works great with hardware accelleration in Final Cut x 😎 I bought it for 180€ on amazon in september 2020... now is at 360€ 😱
@@danienteaqualcosa ooh, thanks! Yeah they are spendy right now... Well, I'll probably look for an AMD GPU, they in general seem more likely to work than Nvidia ones.
Hi! Thanks for the video. I had a similar issue with my hackintosh to boot without the installer. My solution was to install clover on the ssd, restart and boot from the usb installer, in the bottom options, you select install efi boot (I can't remember the exact option name) to install that efi entry as a boot option. You may need to remove some extra options after this process and choose the one that loads macos as the defaut one in your bios. Needless to say that you need to update plist file and kexts on your ssd like the installer. Hope it works for you too.
Awesome! Really looking forward to the next video about this system. Running High Sierra on my old 2600K, and looking into upgrading to ITX and Ryzen preferably. Nice to see a Ryzentosh working :)
Mac Middle..haha! love it.
dude, your videos are awesome. You deserve more visits and likes. I'd love if you recommend or make a video of mini itx cases of aliexpress ... because we can't buy most cases of your videos in South America.
Really nice!!!
Catalina is broken with clover but you can get it to work with opencore i did it myself
Were you able to figure out what’s causing the memory error when installing catalina?
Nice and very informative video. Good explanations, and beautiful build.
Would it be possible to build a dual OS system (bort OSX and Windows) with either OS on there respectively M.2 drives?
I know that you then don't have a slot for the wifi+bluetooth adaptor, but it would be a cool thing to be able to switch between the OS just by rebooting the machine.
You will need to mount your EFI and copy over your EFI config files from your USB
- Open Terminal and run diskutil list and find your internal storage device and the number of your EFI partition
- Run mkdir /Volumes/efi
- Mount your EFI sudo mount -t msdos /dev/disk0s1 /Volumes/efi (Make sure to replace /dev/disk0s1 to what ever your EFI partition is mount to.)
- Your EFI should now be mounted and should be on desktop, next you must open the CLOVER EFI and go into EFI and copy over the contents to the EFI.
Now you can unplug your USB and restart and you will be able to boot without your USB.
2:1, thank you
Pro tip for people wanting to replace the wifi card on their mITX board (like the one in the video or my ASROCK B350 itx, but I'd imagine they all work the same). If you take a screw driver and remove the housing around the wifi card, there's actually a mini PCIe slot, the card isn't actually integrated into the motherboard. There's no need for an M.2 adapter!
For the booting of the m.2 instead issue. I think you just load your EFI partition from the USB and copy the boot folder to the EFI (which you have to load) partition on your m.2
Something like that. I haven’t done this in a while.
I hope in the second part you can go over more on the workflow (does DaVinci work the same vs win10) part along with noise and temps of the system. Thanks
This may be the build I go with for my first Hackintosh build. Not as expensive as what I was going for before, but seems more than powerful enough compared to my iMac now which is chugging when using certain programs.
Worth the 1am wait
Neat~ I like it!
Next Hackintosh build: His biceps 😍😍😍😍
I built mine over the Christmas holidays. Asus ROG Crosshair Impact VIII with 3900x. Used OpenCore to build Catalina. Using an RX 5700 XT.
Great video, but that is NOT the L12s, it is the L12. I hope people don't get this cooler thinking it will fit stock...
I've had both installed on my Ghost S1 and prefer the L12 as I don't have to bend it to get it to fit, and the fan is quieter.
Awesome build and tight case!!! Wow! Are you able to run Adobe Lightroom in mac os on your build? Havent found one instance of it working flawlessly. Wish i did!
I have pretty much the same build on a hackintosh as yours.
Same mobo but rocking a first gen ryzen.
To boot from the SSD rather than the USB stick, you can just copy all the files from the EFI partition of the USB stick to the EFI partition of the SSD.
Clover makes mounting them very easy, and it is just a drag and drop.
I also have wifi working, by replacing the wifi module that came with the board.
I cannot remember where I bought it from, but it replaces the original WIFI module and does not take up the second m.2 slot.
Eventually I do plan on migrating to opencore, because development for patches for new OSX versions seem to exclusively on opencore, so if you want to be up to date in OS version, it is best to be on opencore.
I'm not 100% sure about that motherboard, but other motherboards with WiFi built into them have the card slotted into the motherboard, perpendicular to the motherboard itself, hidden within the rear IO. For my past 3 ITX builds, I was able to unscrew the WiFi card from under the WiFi antenna hookups on the bottom/back of the motherboard. You can replace it with something like the DW1560 if you can manage to find one and you'll have WiFi and Bluetooth without taking an extra slot.
iMac lies between mac mini and mac pro
And you can customise those as well
Final cut is pretty finicky with the hardware. Any chance you’re gonna try that out? Curious to see if it even knows what a ryzen chip is.
Currently running 10.5.1 on my 2950X Threadripper build with dual boot to Windows 10. Using a X399m Taichi with a Radeon VII.
Thanks for good video.
Next time
try to make Hackintosh using ryzen 9 3950x !
@Optimum Tech Love the video.. Good as usual. But Plzzzzzz can u reupload the PSU / Noctua mod. missed it by 10 min and i am doing the same mod and would be more confident with a guide by you.
Been running Catalina 10.15.2 on my 3900X and 5700XT and it's running awesome 👌 I used OpenCore rather than Clover though
Opencore must have better memory manager support somehow.
Couple of tips from me, as I am building the same thing using OpenCore
1. Clover is not supporting 10.15.2 and newer and memory driver is now being developed only for OpenCore
2. Navi cards are very buggy in 10.15.1 and you need 10.15.2 for them. Hence OpenCore
Biggest issue with Ryzen builds is mapping out USB ports, which is painstaking and infuriating process
Aleksandar Vacić I’m going to give OpenCore a shot eventually, just wish it was easier to follow!
USB mapping is a 1-time exercise specific to the motherboard model - so you can check if someone else has already done it
@@sid21177 I have ASRock X570 ITX/TB3 - if you can point to someone already done with mapping, please do :)
@@optimumtech I know. I got it working in about 4 evenings for basic stuff, but USB mapping is killing me. Most guides lead to USBmap or USBInjectAll which is simply not working in my case, just says it can't find any controllers :(
Optimum Tech can you please confirm if Adobe Lightroom works of this hack? Read it doesnt work on ryzen hacks. Wish it did. Thanks!
Hi! How is your performance in final cut pro x? :)
Would really appreciate an answer :D
You should do an updated one, with 10900K + Radeon VII + Asrock Z490 ITX TB3 and a bcM94360CD. (you can replace the original wifi card on this board with the bcM94360CD using an adapter). Bluetooth and Wifi works out of the box. I'm using this and it's amazing!
Mac OS is like living in a nice and well designed home: It feels good to spend time in it and everything is in its right place. Win 10 feels like a dorm: It might be clean, but you're always looking for crap under the bed.
Very good analogy
Yeah so lets go back to Settings... Wait I need Control Panel... Uh no lets open the console... fuck windows
More like living with your parents. There are some perks, like the aforementioned cleanliness but the nagging and general restrictions are enough to drive a dev/gamer/power user mad.
win7 the best. mac can't customize, even when shutting down you need to click few times.... sigh
This is literally the best comment I have ever read on the internet.
Nice video! If you want to run Catalina, you need to use open core
Hi Buddy, Well done, nice tech content!
Could you let me know which keyboard, mouse and mousepad are you using?
Thanks!
what keyboard do you have? it looks nice. and what kinda dsa's are those
did I just get an unbox therapy advert, yesterday I got a ltt advert
I love this build except a blower card in an itx case might deaden you
To help you out.
You need to mount the hdd efi folder and drag the usb efi folder to it. Then you will be able to get the computer running hdd only
I think you might be ignoring the iMac AIO segment of the desktop lineup there.
great video for guidance! Thanks! I'm wondering if the Vega 56 can out put 10bit colors under Mac OS for photoshop? it seems only give 8bit color under windows system .
