Denji agrees to stay away from Asa in order to avoid Nayuta turning her into a dog, despite it being obvious that Denji also has feelings for Asa as evident by his comments about her being different, and him outright saying he kinda of likes her. So in way this is sort of star crossed lover situation where both parties can't be together because of the threat of outside influences.

It's even further complicated by the fact that while Asa cares about Denji and doesn't want Yoru to hurt/kill him (aka turn him into a weapon), Asa does want to find and defeat Chainsaw Man in order to fulfill her deal with Yoru and regain full control of her body again. This is despite the fact that Denji straight up tells Asa (and by extension Yoru) that he is in fact Chainsaw Man. However, Asa doesn't believe Denji and thinks he's just BSing her in an effort to impress girls. I mean, Denji wears CSM merch, which doesn't help his own case, lol.
One thing I like about Nayuta’s controlling nature is that it was far less imposing and strict than Makima. Denji makes a point of challenging her authority and not letting her word be law, and even the dogs have flashes of disobedience as they try and steal Nayuta’s food. The only time Makima ever came close to having her authority challenged was being unable to control Kishibe. It’s a nice difference that I think tells us that Nayuta can definitely learn to progress into a more healthy person
The tragedy is the more healthy she become, the less power she have. When the bigger fish come, she will not have enough "Makima" to protect her family

What i like about Nayuta is that she's actually way different than makima where she's caring about Denji and actually seeing him as a friend/companion and most likely even one of her family

a small thing that people don't notice is that Nayuta isn't using her chain link ability on her dogs when she was eating, unlike Makima who would definitely do that in a skip of a heartbeat, and only uses it on the those who seek to harm Denji. All those hugs and lessons did have some sort of effect on her and Denji did raise her well
The chapter even had Nayuta making the 'bang' finger gesture when she's stating out the two conditions, with Denji in the background. Fujimoto really having a lot of fun with all the Makima symbolism. It actually makes a lot more sense for her to be possessive of Denji, to an extreme degree. She probably doesn't even know that many people outside of Denji, and she certainly wouldn't know anyone with whom she could share her identity of Control Devil. She wants to monopolise the one person with whom she has a genuine and honest relationship, even if the methods she employes are disturbing.

It's entirely possible that Nayuta is using her knowledge of Denji's past history with women as an excuse to keep people, particularly women, away from Denji to monopolize him, not knowing of any actual ill intent from Yoru or Asa Let's remember. Nayuta's first words upon seeing Asa kissing Denji was "Thief." If she sensed *anything* like Yoru, I don't know if all she would've done was throw out an accusation of someone "stealing" Denji from her and just turn Asa into a dog.

Nayuta is truly the control devil raised by Denji, its actually quite complicated to think of raising a powerful child that represents the fears of humanity, but she isnt Makima and while she is controlling its just her being a child and a good one truly, she is expressive and everything she does is probably just rules at home stablished or allowed by Denji
It's funny but now the one I'm worried about is Yoshida. We know literally nothing about him like his motivations, his actual contract, how does he appear everywhere, who is he working for, etc. and now with this cliffhanger of him asking Asa to hang out and with the chapter being titled "Triangle" it can easily be interpreted in many ways.
Yoshida is definitely the death hybrid. He keeps making hand signs that mean something involving death, and death is the only horseman we haven't seen yet.

I read an interesting theory on another CZcams channel where someone posited that since Nayuta, as the Control Devil, has the ability to alter the memories of others, could it be possible for her to unlock and restore Power's memories (and personality) to the newly reincarnated Blood Devil or Blood Fiend? It's a cool theory and we could possibly get Powey back but in another body/appearance. The Violence Fiend showed that it's possible for the Devil to retain some memories and personality from the body of the deceased it happens to possess. Now, could this also be true for the Devil itself unlocking/retaining memories of its past lives via the reincarnation cycle? Well, the answer is yes because we've seen it already with best boy Beam (aka Cherubim the Shark Fiend) who recognized Denji as Pochita aka "Lord Chainsaw". It is an overly optimistic outcome though so I doubt Fujimoto would go through with such a plot point (the least of which being why Nayuta would even grant such a favor to the Blood Devil/Fiend when Nayuta has shown to be a really jealous brat and very possessive of Denji, and wants him all to herself).
I think Nayuta is gonna be the character who can call out other character's bs, while i think her possessiveness will play a role, I think she'll also be the first to recognise when a character has ulterior motives in regards to denji. resulting in situations like this chapter where she acts in Denji's best interest, but he can't see it that way because he doesn't have the context she does.
One other thing I like is that it adds more to what is Asa after her death as it basically confirms she’s not a hybrid or a fiend as Nayuta would of realised it as just how Makima could smell that denji was both human and devil, Nayuta smelt something unusual which means Asa can’t be a hybrid because after all this time with Denji that sorta smell would be recognised and she’s not a fiend because that would of just smelt of a devil to her and its that unknown smell that makes her act like she does which makes me think she would be a lot more hostile had she smelt Yoru and realised she’s a devil

I noticed how you used the word “compromise” to describe Nayuta’s decisions. An equal agreement where both parties both sacrifice one thing. Despite Nayuta having more power and control than Denji, it seems as if she’s picked up some morals for having equal relationships. I’m curious as to how this can help Denji in the future or if Denji’s ways of raising her will backfire and she will become just like Makima again.
I don't think it really borders on toxic per se. It's a very accurate representation of siblings just being siblings, but with much less arguing. Nayuta just needs to ease up on her affections, although from a reader's perspective given the facts we know her control was definitely the best move here
I don't see Nayuta as being all that different from Makima. Makima also acted to protect Denji at various times - because it was in her own longer-term interest. And Nayuta wants Denji alive because he provides food for her. A simpler desire, but still self-centered. I don't think we've seen anything out of Nayuta (yet?) to show that she's not just as selfish as Makima was - just with a simpler, more childish mind.
Idk if you realized it, but every time Makima did something good to Denji, it was either to: 1. Protect Chainsaw Man 2. Cause Pochita's contract to be broken. 3. To make Denji suffer and lose everything. And that's not even mentioning the fact that Makima controlled Denji via his pain and suffering, while Nayuta just controls Denji to protect him. Denji wanted Asa to be ok but Nayuta clearly sees her as a threat because of her smell, so demanding ice cream to free her is just a trade of Denji getting what he wants and Nayuta getting what she wants.
Good analysis as per usual. I think you give Nayuta little bit too much credit thou, while she's clearly caring about Danji she's still a child and her primary motive in this case is more of keeping him all for herself and explanation of girls always trying to kill him is more of an excuse. She just happens to be right. Nayuta’ being a callback to Fujimoto previous work bound to overdo her demonic nature (The Control devil this time around) and at some point Denji will have to sand up to her and give her a good scolding like older brother sometimes should. That being said - their power dynamic is interesting to watch already all the deals, compromises are a good way of showing priorities and inner working of this duo.
This was exactly my thinking. A lot of people are assuming that Nayuta can sense Yoru or something, but we have no reason to believe this. It's entirely possibly that Nayuta is making up Asa being a threat as an excuse to keep her away from Denji because she's a woman, using Denji's past traumatic history with women as an excuse. She doesn't know Asa is some strange hybrid with a devil hostile to Denji in her head, Nayuta is lying to make the deal easier for Denji to accept, the lie just happens to be true unbeknownst to either Denji or Nayuta.

I honestly love Fujimoto. (And am angry with him.) Out of so many piece of fiction, he succeeds in truly making me feel for these characthers despite me knowing they are not real.

I like that Fujimoto wants to do Makima redemption arc but in a way where people would actually like it rather than just Makima turning over into a new leaf without any good reason at all. This is the best way to go about it because Nayuta and Makima is practically the same, they want control but the way they go about it differs base on their intentions. Nayuta is basically Makima's redemption arc.
im not sure why everyone says its a contract. every other time that we have seen a character make a contract it had explicitly said that they are making a contract. this looks and frels like just a compromise between siblings
I think what makes Nayuta different from Makima was actually showen in this chapter. Unlike makima nayuta generally cares for denji and doesn't want him to get hurt. Her control is more protective then makima's which was abusive. This is show cased more with nayuta's willingness to compromise with denji instead of just killing Asa like makima would have done. Another thing I want to point out. We still have to wait for Denji to get power back and it seems want the author is doing is rather simple. Denji saw power as a sister because she reminded him of the one he lost but now he has nayuta. Denii and power are going to end up together and Asa will become a way for him to get power back.
It's clear to see that Asa interaction with Denji stop here, for a moment. Sure, Yoru's objective is to kill chainsaw man, but this time she will fight the fake chainsaw man. Asa/yoru probably use haruka (who interested on asa) as weapon to defeat the fake chainsaw man. So, if you want to see denji and asa romance, you have to wait a little longer.
What I like most is that even tough Nayuta is the Control Devin she isn't even able to fully control her own dogs properly which is kinda cute compared to Makima which dominated in very single aspect.

I noticed how you used the word “compromise” to describe Nayuta’s decisions. An equal agreement where both parties both sacrifice one thing. Despite Nayuta having more power and control than Denji, it seems as if she’s picked up some morals for having equal relationships. I’m curious as to how this can help Denji in the future or if Denji’s ways of raising her will backfire and she will become just like Makima again.
She also Doesn't really have more power or control than Denji. He killed the last control devil and could definitely kill this one if he wanted to.

I don't think it really borders on toxic per se. It's a very accurate representation of siblings just being siblings, but with much less arguing. Nayuta just needs to ease up on her affections, although from a reader's perspective given the facts we know her control was definitely the best move here
I don't see Nayuta as being all that different from Makima. Makima also acted to protect Denji at various times - because it was in her own longer-term interest. And Nayuta wants Denji alive because he provides food for her. A simpler desire, but still self-centered. I don't think we've seen anything out of Nayuta (yet?) to show that she's not just as selfish as Makima was - just with a simpler, more childish mind.
Idk if you realized it, but every time Makima did something good to Denji, it was either to:
1. Protect Chainsaw Man
2. Cause Pochita's contract to be broken.
3. To make Denji suffer and lose everything.
And that's not even mentioning the fact that Makima controlled Denji via his pain and suffering, while Nayuta just controls Denji to protect him. Denji wanted Asa to be ok but Nayuta clearly sees her as a threat because of her smell, so demanding ice cream to free her is just a trade of Denji getting what he wants and Nayuta getting what she wants.
Mannn idk. I know Nayuta probably saved denji in the long run but she didn’t have to do it like THAT. And denji fr let that lil girl do him like that

Good analysis as per usual. I think you give Nayuta little bit too much credit thou, while she's clearly caring about Danji she's still a child and her primary motive in this case is more of keeping him all for herself and explanation of girls always trying to kill him is more of an excuse. She just happens to be right.
Nayuta’ being a callback to Fujimoto previous work bound to overdo her demonic nature (The Control devil this time around) and at some point Denji will have to sand up to her and give her a good scolding like older brother sometimes should.
That being said - their power dynamic is interesting to watch already all the deals, compromises are a good way of showing priorities and inner working of this duo.
This was exactly my thinking. A lot of people are assuming that Nayuta can sense Yoru or something, but we have no reason to believe this. It's entirely possibly that Nayuta is making up Asa being a threat as an excuse to keep her away from Denji because she's a woman, using Denji's past traumatic history with women as an excuse. She doesn't know Asa is some strange hybrid with a devil hostile to Denji in her head, Nayuta is lying to make the deal easier for Denji to accept, the lie just happens to be true unbeknownst to either Denji or Nayuta.
@@KiraDaBeastNY I meant be fair, she comment on her scent and we know that Makima could smell devils and used her nose to distinguish between people. She just doesn't know what that smell means yet but it is also combined with her incredibly possessive nature since she made an entire rule about not letting other girls kiss Denji.

I like that Fujimoto wants to do Makima redemption arc but in a way where people would actually like it rather than just Makima turning over into a new leaf without any good reason at all. This is the best way to go about it because Nayuta and Makima is practically the same, they want control but the way they go about it differs base on their intentions. Nayuta is basically Makima's redemption arc.

I just notice a loop hole in the contract. It was made when Yoru was dominant, meaning that technically it doesn't apply to Asa.
im not sure why everyone says its a contract. every other time that we have seen a character make a contract it had explicitly said that they are making a contract. this looks and frels like just a compromise between siblings

I really wonna see more wholesome moments between denji and nayuta
I think what makes Nayuta different from Makima was actually showen in this chapter. Unlike makima nayuta generally cares for denji and doesn't want him to get hurt. Her control is more protective then makima's which was abusive. This is show cased more with nayuta's willingness to compromise with denji instead of just killing Asa like makima would have done.
Another thing I want to point out. We still have to wait for Denji to get power back and it seems want the author is doing is rather simple. Denji saw power as a sister because she reminded him of the one he lost but now he has nayuta. Denii and power are going to end up together and Asa will become a way for him to get power back.

I doubt she'll be worse than Makima since she has a kind of family now with Denji. Dunno, maybe in a later Arc something happens.
