Humanity is so much better for having Mr Tyson in our ranks. If only there were more like him.
Amen to that!👍🏻
I love Neil deGrasse Tyson. He is so funny and so excellent at explaining how to think scientifically.
There are plenty of people like him, they are the teachers at school, college and university who we remember fondly throughout our lives.
They inspire us and because of their talent for teaching others some of their pupils go on to lives studying a subject and encouraging others to do the same.
Good teachers deserve more credit and pay in society. Without them we would not know a lot of what we do now.
Richard Feynman, Brian Cox, James Burke and others now and in the past have shown the same talent for encouraging us to listen, learn and progress.

@@nigeh5326 There might be plenty like him, but unfortunately, there are 278 folks who hate reality so much that they went out of their way to downvote this video. I`m afraid the U.S.A. is becoming an Idiocracy if it isn`t already one. C`est la vie! 😢
We saw Dr. Tyson in Tampa, 2 hour show. If you get a chance to see him in person you will not be disappointed.
My wife took me as a birthday treat!
@@oldgymrat71now that is a great birthday present.
When I was married my ex used to get me a card and a shirt 😊
Howw tho? He sells shows?
@@oldgymrat71 HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!🎂💐
lucky you!
I would love to meet Neil just to say thank you!!! ❤️
The information from Dr. Tyson is one of the main reasons I watch CZcams information podcasts. Thank you
You and me both!
Rofl 🤡🤡🐑🐑
@@arknan9624yet here you are
same here!
Imo, Neil is full of hot air! But, each to their own....🥴
I always love listening to Tyson's sound reasoning.
100 years from now people will be talking and quoting Dr. Tyson as he becomes a historical figure.
500 years from now, people will be reading about Elon Musk in Middle School history class.
@@mikemccormick6128 10 years from now Elon will be a business case example of how you can screw up a brand and lose all your money.
@@mikemccormick6128 For what reason would Elon be taught about in History class, do you imagine?
@@IAMNIVERSE Yes, because he is changing the world. The only reason why the major manufactures are moving to electric vehicles is because they have to in order to not get left behind. If Tesla did not exist, then no major auto manufacturers would be going electric. Also, without Elon, Tesla would have failed. Tesla succeeded because of his vision. He is also changing the world by making reusable rockets that land instead of falling into the ocean. this is making access to space extremely affordable. Underground tunnels haven’t caught on yet, but I’m hoping they will because I believe they are a brilliant idea and could potentially revolutionize transportation if the idea catches fire. He is also making humanized robots and implanting computer chips into people’s brains. He is very much on the cutting edge.
@@mikemccormick6128 I agree with a lot of what you mentioned (I'm surprised you mentioned the tunnels company because no one does), but he's not actually making anything, he's giving money to creators of cool things and taking credit--big difference, historically speaking. There are non-famous people/companies doing things that he is the frontman for, such as sy chron (which may arguably be better than neu alink, I'm not sure).
The Passion he brings is Amazing ❤
What an amazing person! I wish this was longer
A lot of wonderful people came from the Bronx. Neil is just one of them.
Neal is so passionate about his work and the world. That makes him an interesting person to listen to.
Dr Tyson makes science as adorable as he is.
The universe is kinda funny doesn't it
Been listening to NDT for years. One of the most inspiring human beings. Learning is fun. Facts are fun. Tough questions are encouraged. What i don't know i don't know and as normal as breathing.
42:28 So impressed he just pulled that Edgar Mitchell quote out of thin air - what a delivery! Classic NDT-in-a-nutshell moment.
It's in his books, I've read two, it's one of his favorite quotes he likes to pull out. Very powerful statement.
Lesley, thank you for NOT interrupting as so many others often do.
Well she is a professional. Most arent they are just playing the part
41:00 I never get tired of hearing him relate this.
I need to listen to Dr Tyson - all day long!!!!
He has tons of talks. Check out his congressional one.
Leslie is a wonderful interviewer.
His passion is a beauty to behold. I’ve seen him in person and he’s amazing
Watching from Palau 🇵🇼!
You are a true Ambassador for planet earth 🌏 peace! Thanks
The true ambassador of planet earth, yes.
nontalent , and a selfabsorbal unfunny fool,-
Hi from 🇰🇿
Aloha Palau 🇵🇼
The intellectual heir of Carl Sagan…we need many more especially in the younger generations…Also Stahl is 82!!
This is what worries me. It seems there are very few, if any people… following his footsteps. When he is gone from this earth, I fear that we will have nobody to replace him and therefore… Be an earth left without critical thinkers. People who don’t just go with the flow, but question everything to get the correct answer. Not just the right answer for the right people. Which is a very scary prospect. Are people even going into the science field anymore? engineering, yes. But you don’t hear about many people making science their major.
It seems everybody wants to be famous or infamous. Very few of those critical thinkers left. Because they are letting the establishment think for them. While they figure out ways to become rich and buy the things they want to buy. Which is worrisome for the future.
Absolutely! Thank you for saying that. ❤
Lesley crushed.
Wow! I had no idea.
@@MakeLifeExtraordinarythere are others but the media world we now live in is based on celebrity not knowledge.
I get annoyed when I see people who are known only as celebrities or performers asked their opinions on politics, economics, science etc.
Only fools listen to these modern jesters on such matters.
But in the modern world it seems people are more and more focused on what entertains them rather than what will educate them.
No im not a killjoy I enjoy being entertained as much as anyone. But I don’t see why I should listen to an entertainer, a model etc about things they know little about.
You wouldn’t go to a doctor if your car won’t start so why ask a celebrity about academic subjects?
Dr. Tyson is always an inspiration for living, learning, thinking. Thank you forthis podcast!
I could watch these two people for many hours. I am very grateful to have come across this very informative and entertaining interview, thanks to whoever made this possible😊
I have watched many of Dr. Tyson's interviews but this was one of the best interviews I ever saw.
The Universe is alive within us. Neil deGrasse Tyson, if only every leader and every empowered entrepreneur would keep that in mind, daily.
Wow, great interview Lesley Stahl with the great Neil deGrasse Tyson. Thank you both
what wq\as so great about the lady? dumb!
Thanks Lesley...great discussion with my favorite astrophysicist...Neil.
Tyson is a real Hero, he is bridging the gap between people that think Science is not cool by making it cool and even more interesting, he knows how important it is for people to educate themselves on it, Science is the most useful subject in life, for us all to progress as a species.
The ending made me cry: “when you’re in love you want to tell the world.” I love Lesley and I really love Neil.
I enjoyed watching this. Leslie Stahl and Neil deGrasse Tyson have it. 💪💪
As good as it gets! ❤
Thank you very much for program
I think this is Neil de grasse Tyson best interview ever ❤ thank you
I feel inspired❤
Love from India
Wonderful interview! Love listening to Dr. Tyson.
Neil deGrasse Tyson, You are my inspiration. I am 70 years old and I am inspired to be an astrophysicist and a linguist. Luckily I in live in California and I can go back to school to become my dream and the state will pay for it.
I love the way Lesley Stahl conducted this interview, this is one of her best.
Mr. Tyson is a true scientist. He looks for facts and data, uses his common sense, is funny 😂, and WILLING TO SHARE his findings with us! A delightful human being, open and candid, elevated yet perceptionally common for all of us to enjoy.
He's a great influencer, and i mean "influencer" in the most sincere manner. Through 4 decades he's been influencing students to go into the sciences and adults to be inspired to learn about the natural world.Just like Sagan before him.
👍🏽
NDT Is probably one of the best ambassadors for science making it real for everyday people.
I've watched and listened to Ms. Stahl over the decades. It is wonderful to see her moderating this discussion.
Neil deGrasse Tyson towers in our generation as a beacon - in the full sense of a monumental lighthouse - lighting the way to true scientific curiosity, thrills, and enlightenment, and even more importantly, warning a world of unwary souls away from the shoals of superstition, misinformation, and narrow mindedness.
He is a giant as a scientist and teacher, and equally so as a person.
Lesley, best interview yet! Thanks!
I just watched you and Leslie Stahl you are valuable
Both these people are AWESOME! I would love to spend a few years hanging around them, or listening to the continuation of this conversation/interview. Leslie should be interviewed at length, too!!
How can someone hate Dr Tyson. He is just absolutely an ideal human being.
Ignorance finds a way.😂
Because he told us Pluto isn’t a planet lol
Nobody hates Dr. Tyson.
The only people that hate him are the ones insecure about their intelligence and confidence, I find.
@@matthewcairns2493 agreed people get v insecure about themselves when they meet people who have higher intelligence, better personalities and can communicate as Neil De Grosse Tyson does.
The man is a master at delivering scientific knowledge to a population that struggles to understand it.
Brian Cox is another great communicator imo
dear NDGT, in reference to the end of this interview, i am doing what i love right now: sitting in my garage, smoking, drinking sparkling wine watching YOU on youtube. that's what i love doing so thank you for another great evening! :-)
that's great
Good luck to you as long as what you are doing doesn’t harm others or interfere with their activities go for it 👍
Wonderful experience! Much gratitude!!
We Are The Universe. ❤
Thank you both for the joy & hope! Listening to an interesting interview and conversation made my day.
So much respect Sir...no words!
Thanks Leslie and Neil! Two beautiful people in a great conversation!
Love love love Neil !!!!❤
We're too busy looking down at our phones rather than looking up to see a UFO
He is a TEACHER. No more honorable task then teaching people and he LOVES IT! Thank you DOC!
another brilliant interview from Tyson ! thank you!
Tyson knocks it out of the park... Good job sir.
The fact that we are made out of the same ingredients that's out there in a cosmos makes me more grateful than my creator created me and it makes me feel more special
Dr. Tyson, you've been my intellectual mentor for years - this is the only time I gotta call you out on your pronunciation of cacOphony! (If that's the only thing I ever caught you on in these many years, you're doing pretty good! All-in-all, you're a gift to humanity!!!
;-)
Nobody is perfect we all have variations in the way we pronounce words depending on where we live, who we grew up with, our class etc.
Some Americans pronounce the word leisure as leizure which to my British ears sounds off just as Americans say zee for the letter Z but Brits say zed 😊.
It’s all relative and given Dr NDT’s talents for bringing science to the masses I think we can forgive him lol
Just one word! "Aluminium" (maybe 2) "soder" !!!
My mind is forever blown 🤯
my favourite birthday gift would be to spend a week or more, nonstop with niel degrasse tyson. listening to him is understanding.
I wish so much that my granddaughter would have a teacher like Dr.Tyson .if only the teachers had the passion he does when talking about the Universe. The teacher they have ,lack passion and skills how to Teach , to share information with the teens.
I agree that we need skilled ,passionate educators . But just as much ,children who are interested in science and parents who encourage and nurture said interest.
Any time spent listening to Dr. Tyson is always time well spent. He is so good at story telling it doesn't matter what the topic, it will be a good story.
Thanks for this talk, very uplifting in such fraught times.
Lesley Stahl you are an angel, must be joy to be with. Living to meet you. Love
Two of my Favorite people Thank You ,,,,llc
I just loved this!
I’m fortunate to be alive in the same time frame with Dr.Tyson. #CosmicPerspective 🌍
maybe greatness has no bounds. Thanks for exposing yourself to us. I appreciate your, may all continue to be well for you.
Incredible as usual 😊
Fascinating and powerful dialogue from two individuals at the top of their game.
"Then back when Columbus was okay". That made me chuckle so much.
But how long before people say, "back when Jesus was okay."
Great stuff! 👍
Just loved this conversation ❤❤❤❤❤
Great stuff!
whatt a great talk and great questions!!!!!!!
Props to Lesley as well
Amazing talk thank you 😊❤️
Another CZcams gem that needs to be shared with your friends. Pass it on,

Amazing and inspirational. ❤

I love when Dr Tyson pauses for a sec to find the best word to continue his sentence.

Good morning 92NY Lesley and Neil
Super dynamic shared conversation.

"Sanity brain gym.." for sure (my new expression). 👌
Tyson & Stahl :

This is a Great Show with the Amazing Neil DeGrasse. The Curious mind and finding the enjoyment being knowledgeable on discovering about Life and Society 😊
Awesome,
I love listening to the knowledge that Dr. Neil Degrass Tyson has. I saw him when he came to Richmond and I just loved his show. Keep us informed! ❤
Good stuff Niel.
Tyson statement on neurodiversity is brilliant and bravely spoken. I’ve been writing poetry for 23 yrs to help all mankind find joy and change lives. If I hadn’t had daily epilepsy for the last 39 years, I would have never become the author I am. I love my epilepsy.
Excellent
Lesley Stahl is 82 and still strikingly beautiful!!
Love Neil ❤️
Love that his mind wanders all over the place like mine.
OMG! Great interview...
