I think if he got fed up, I feel like (without knowing him of course) Tom would just pull the plug on any involvement with Alex and his channel. Though to me they all seem to get on really quite well.

I thought he was getting really annoyed in the first episode he did with Alex (can't remember which one) but I think it's just the way he is. He seems to have really warmed to it and he's a good member of the crew.

I feel like this is one of the few true car channels. It’s not all about super cars, hyper cars, spending the most.. it’s about cars. Any car. Good or bad. Preferably bad, which makes it better in my opinion. It adds another comedy aspect to the already perfect chemistry between Alex and Taylor.
I think you should of sold the full car to Tom for the £500 he's been a massive help to this channel and he comes across as a real nice guy

Tom seems like such a nice bloke compared to the countless short, bald, passive aggressive mechanics I've dealt with in the past. So hard to find a trustworthy mechanic these days
I was on the m1 heading south on Saturday. Saw the van (has Taylor’s plate on it) and got super excited. Drove past honked the horn a few times and gave a thumbs up, only to see a ginger guy with a beard driving and not Taylor. Felt like a fool. The van came past us and then we were going back past when the guy rolled the window down. We put ours down and he gave us an air freshener. Honestly made our day and couldn’t stop smiling about it for the rest of the drive to Crawley and then back to Teesside later
£600 for the MG... I believe the plate alone is worth more than that! Someone got a bargain!

I wonder how much you would make on that Daimler if you just stripped it down and sold it for parts. Tom already wanted the front axle, ha also said that the engines on those were quite good and this particular one didn't sound too bad. With these and maybe some stuff like the lights, bumpers, windows, doors and other parts that are hard to come by but still in an acceptable shape, I figure you could make around 1000 quid or more if Robin hadn't messaged you.
I think I'd like to see a challenge in which each of you guys had to buy a car that's off MOT and has no chance of getting it anymore and make money parting it out and scrapping everything that doesn't sell.

I have absolutely no clue when it comes to trailers but I would have never imagined that trailer to be worth £5500!
The trailer they had I've seen being sold for 8K on auto trader. The costs for trailers are mad.
Yeah it's only when Alex and Taylor's got nicked when I found out just how much they can cost. Makes sense in retrospect, it's a big lump of metal that has to safely and securely transport potentially very heavy vehicles even at motorway speeds.

That Mercedes has a ton of valuable parts, the refrigerator is worth easily 1300 pounds, add in the ABC struts, wheels, interior trim specific to the v12, the xenon headlights, exhaust cats, engine itself, and body panels and you could easily get 6k pounds from breaking it
Daimler hemi V8 goes in a Ford Pop,the remains go on the banger track with a pinto lump. I know,lost in the '70s! Very entertaining video chaps.

14:37 Didn't Minis have cone suspension not Hydrolastic?? 1100's and Metros had it though.
Minis where mainly sold with rubber cone suspension. But they were definitely offered with Hydrolastic for a period in the 60/70s.
I have an MGF too, and if I was in england I'd see if I could fit a rover v8 in it.... but only because then it'd technically fit the definition of a supercar haha

MG did it, its in the gaydon museum and i believe did hit supercar speeds. The rover v8 was around tvr 500 spec iirc.

It would likely need a chassis swap to be somewhat safe. Definitely not a resto mod, would be completely uneconomical to repair as it would cost so much
From my experience a mgf on its spheres handles better than a tf on its coilovers, comfy slow and still sporty when in the bends, certainly better, quicker and faster in corners than the mx5s.
A mx5 would out handle a mg every day of the week as long as there’s a good driver in both cars. As for power I had a mk1 1.6 that could run circles around the MGs on track days. You only have to look and see which of the two are more popular. The MK1 MX5/Eunos Roadster/miata is world renowned for being a great car same has never been said about a MGFv😂
Dont give up on it! Just make it safe. Tires brakes suspension. An structural rust. And just drive it about.

This is what the average 15-20 year old car looks like in ontario, Canada. I'm not even exaggerating. We don't do yearly mot's. We only need safety inspections when ownerships are transfered. That means no inspections sometimes for the entire life of the car. Truly scary to think about

My dad has the same Daimler 250 V8 in the same colour over in Australia. His is a runner driver though! Slightly better condition than yours!
