You can do alot better with your £429, than a premium 4060 TI model. Some Radeon RX 7700 XT models are at the same price. RTX 4060 TI 8GB should be priced no more than £279.

Thanx for the drill down into the specifics of this card. It is nice to see reviews of low to mid range cards with this kind of detail. 8GB cards will have a short shelf life from 2024 on. For a $400+ you should get at least 12GB with more better. No card at this price should have only 8GB.
It seems that game developers have had enough of NVIDIA's memory stinginess. I guess that is the push NVIDIA needs in order to grant the next generation of GPUs more memory. I just hope that it'll work. It would be unpleasant to see another set of 8GB cards in RTX 50-series.
$400+ should be 20GBs+. We're in the generations where local AI models are becoming interesting and we need to see how far they can go, in gaming or otherwise.

So do i need a new build? I have amd 7 7700, 32gb ram. 4060ti 8gb,
for horizon i settled for a mix of high and medium settings at 960p, in some areas i can still achieve 80-110fps. i think with cards like this you'd be dancing around 720p-1080p and medium texture settings in many AAA titles.

Indeed. I don't know how this GPU is still in production. NVIDIA should've discontinued the 8GB model and replaced it with a 16GB model at the same or similar price, imho. Oh, and thank you for your continuous support and viewership🤝

That 8 gb of vram really gonna hurt on heavy npc cutscenes in this game, or in burning shore dlc area..
I have RTX 4060 Ti, i5 12400f, 32 GB RAM. I get 60+ fps even in burning shore DLC @1440p, DLSS Q at the heavy NPC areas... Just put textures in medium and rest all settings max...

To reduce VRAM usage, you can delete two files in the main game folder (in case of HFW), related to direct storage. DS does consume a bit of VRAM by itself. So it may help. And I doubt it will noticeably increase loading times. Although it is pretty frustrating to get a midrange card with just 8GB of memory in 2024. It should have had at least 10GB, 12GB would be perfect. 8GB do not even let 4060 Ti take advantage of the two main Nvidia features - RT and frame generation. What a miss, or should I say - a mess!
Well said. Frame generation is RTX 40-series' main selling point. It makes having a high refresh rate monitor worth it for AAA gaming.
I got 3060ti gaming oc for 170€ secund hand in perfect condicion cannot pass the offer but i like the power consum on 4060ti for just abit more performance

for me this gpu is no better than rx 6600 and its huge waist of cash.. you will end playing at same setting in new games bcs of that vram and at medium rx 6600 runs everything with good fps and it hurts much less running out of vram on 200$ gpu..

I haven't tried it myself. But if I were shopping around for a 4060 Ti then I'd definitely pick the 16GB version. 8GB is a no go, imho.
Ray tracing off and still struggling to reach 60fps on cyberpunk at 1080p. Thats awful

it looks like msi even cheaped out on the cooler itself. At least compared to my 2070 super. Too thin.
this GPU is a disgrace tbh, 1080p 60 fps in 2024 being the target is just wild. 1440p60 should be the bare minimum at this point in my opinion, which means low to mid range cards should handle that pretty flawlessly, and yet here we are having problems with 1080p.
These cards should have a minimum of 12GB VRAM, or even 16. We shouldn't be seeing 8GB cards anymore save for the very lowest end meant to act as a display adapter.

In Finland in US dollars RTX 3070 Used 260$-300$ and New RTX 4060 Ti 8GB 429$ and 16GB 480$ In my opinion, the 4060TI is not worth the price, because AMD offers here for less than 500$ RX 7800XT New and used RTX 3080 here for less than $400
