  • My editing app kept crashing because of how long the video was and how many pictures i put in it. I literally had to split it in half, edit the second part and combine them.

i like your channel. "western comics" are criminally underrated especially from the indie companies. im waiting for the day a big non comic book book youtuber talks about Saga or other indie greats so i feel vindicated. maybe amazon will start "western anime" with other good animated comic shows

Technically Invincible is smtg like that but yeah we need more indie comic attention.

Thank you. Yeah, they are pretty underrated. I’m not too familiar with India comics though, but i do know Scott Pilgrim was an indie comic. But yeah, they definitely need more attention.

At the end of the day its all sequential storytelling. Its worth remembering that. They simply have a different approach to how they go about it and how they package it.
I think the reason people think Manga is better is because its organized. You can read a series sequentially from start to end without detours. I have collected mostly western comics, and continuity has been a problem since the 90s. With the breakdown of editing in the west its 10x worse now. And that doesn't even get into the rest of the problems. Without strong editorial policy the entire universe breaks down.

Exactly. Mangas are definitely more organized than comics. Even though comics genuinely are easier to get into than what people say, it still can be a bit overwhelming to a new reader. Mangas are very beginner friendly.

The best tip i could give is work on small projects rather than focusing all your efforts on a single overtly complicated project that might sunk your entire career and life.

That’s some of the best advice really. I really think more writers should be doing that, it has a lot of positives. Not using as much time, allows for practice and critique, less stressful and like you said about the possibility of your career and life being sunken into it. 100% agree.

It's crazy how despite being essentially the same thing both have quite a lot of differences. But yes I really agree that we can learn quite a lot from them w/o needing for comparison. Incredible storytelling mediums. Really hope this video blows up.

Thank you so much. I hope it does too, lol. I think more people should be agreeing on the fact that they can learn a lot from both instead of constantly debating on which one is better.
