  • Ben Pavier, professional model engineer and previous winner of the International Model Locomotive Efficiency Competition (IMLEC) runs a freshly rebuilt and fettled 4MT at the 2021 event at Mote Park, Maidstone.

    My loco. Ben did the work (lots of work over quite a long period!); I paid for the work (and also for the loco in its original form).
    Well done Ben - for the IMLEC placing and for improving the loco!

      It's a real stunner Vince. Right down to the details.... we were mesmerised by watching the safety valves pop and close after the run. Really well-sorted and I bet you are chuffed with it!

      @@steamskynoise Can't wait to get to know it in its new guise. I've driven it of course since ben waved his magic wand over it and it is transformed. I do love those 'Paviour' safety valves. They don't weep like the originals - they pop open and closed decisively!

    It would be interesting to know what you did to “improve” the loco. It seemed to be quite a light load by normal IMLEC standards.
