      Yammie has hated Honda
      And I understand the bias. IMO the 2001-2012 model years 600/1000RR was the pinnacle of their bike production. In 2022, they just don’t hit the same way, and a lot of these videos trend toward newer model years.

    i have a 2013 636 and after taking it to the track, riding tail of the dragon, and the cherohala skyway, i absolutely fell in love with it. the low end power yet punchy top end was able to keep up with a heavily modified R6 from a 50 roll (rider weight was only a small difference favoring me). Still has the power in the top end, and it appreciates being ripped open in 3rd gear coming out of a corner.

  • @natural_lucidity9781
    @natural_lucidity9781 Před 2 lety +16

    I daily a 03 636 I love it. its my first bike and its been good to me. I've learned oil and fluid change. chain adjustments, and soon to do brakes and throw on a new clutch lever. Some mornings are hard to get riding but as soon as I wake up I don't wanna stop at my work and just keep going all day. The low end power feels so smooth and strong and its so light for a 6ft 130lbs guy like myself! Bought it with a bigger sprocket and Yoshimura exhaust. I cruise in 4 to 6 rpms and as soon as I wanna rip it I already can! When I do drop a gear its another level! I find it rather comfortable than some might find it, I like being in an athletic stance so I'm fully in control. The low to mid end torque has saved me in a few situations and I feel very in control of the bike being its so small and agile!

Thanks to living in Utah I can put a full Akropovic exhaust on the thing and still ride it on the street :P Yammie vids are partly what motivated me to get one over the other bikes in the class (that and my dad hauling me around on his ZX-11 back in the day).

    I (we?) need to know why you think it belongs in the rubbish bin. The F4i was a class leading runner. My 2008 600RR has one of the most comfortable ergo packages I’ve ever felt riding a sport bike on the street.
    Love the Yam Fam, but come on, let’s get a real review for us Honda fans! It seems like the gutless, heavy 650R/F and 500R have tarnished the 600RR’s good name over the past 5-10 years.

It made the case why people feel like the 600 class are so slow when they haven’t ridden a 2000’s era RR or 636. I agree though, the R6 is one of the slickest lookers in the sportbike world.

    It’s going to be interesting getting it going again, knowing absolutely nothing about motorcycle mechanics, going to have to change a few parts on it.
    I believe he won it in a giveaway or raffle kind of thing where it’s had some upgrades, and it definitely has way too much low end torque, popping wheelies in 1st gear, with 2 riders at about 250lbs, definitely going to get it tuned and try to fix that low end torque.

      Im considering getting the same bike (2017 KRT) and am just concerned about comfort. I ride for fun every now and then, going to the beach or around town. I had a Daytona I sold partly because the suspension was hard as a rock and the ergos killed my body. However I never had ridden sport bikes so it was (and still is) pretty new to me. Should I go through with it and get the ZX? I mainly want it because it will be way better on the highway than my current naked bike.

      @@CaptainCandycorn I am 5' 9" and used to commute 40min to work, and that I think was about the limit where I started to fatigue. However I never had issues with lower back even with a backpack on with a laptop in it. The ZX is not as aggressive as an R6 & they hold value super well so you can always trade it. They are very desirable bikes and there will always be a buyer for a good condition unit. As far as ownership I love the bike, super smooth with plenty power even below 8k. Lastly when your on the highway and you one hand the throttle you can sit upright to make a longer trip more comfortable. If you do Clip ons then its like riding a supermoto so even better lol. Hope this help in my opinion... buy the dirty 6 haha

    Hey yamm had to "lay er down" yesterday cause I took a turn too tight at slow speed as my rear tire was going over a small rock. This caused my back tire to lose traction and quickly changed the direction of momentum which made it fall to my left side. Needless to say it looked like I was slowly letting my bike down into a crib whilst I was bouncing off the rev limiter in neutral. I picked the bike back up with the only issue being a bent toe shift lever and an embarrassing moment infront of several cars.

    Love my 636, been upgrading every few years, great bike for track and street, and no I don't want a liter bike. It more than enough unless you want to die alot sooner. I will say if you live in an area where you can ride your bike more than 3 month out of the year get a kawasaki 1000rr.

    How can you still support Rokform Papa noob? They don't have vibration dampening. I've killed 2 iPhones on my Rokform. I called customer support in Nov 2021 and they told me they would have something by March 2022. It's May and they still have nothing. The case is amazing the mount is not meant for newer gen phones.

    • @iamtheiceman
      @iamtheiceman Před 2 lety

      Vibrations kill OIS in cameras, unfortunately.
      My quadlock mount came out with a vibration dampener which works well, but be very careful to check the screw's tightness, because mine came loose, my phone hit the pavement, and was destroyed.
      I kept the mount but used a ton of loctite to re-secure it, and check it often.
