    I’ve got a new slimline Miele dishwasher, does for me.... though my older Miele dishwasher dried a lot better, & the cutlery & crockery came out very hot to touch... unlike my old dishwasher the only fault with my new dishwasher is the little droplets of water on the cups... I have to get a cloth to clean of the water let on cups.

    Our fully integrated Miele dishwasher stopped working and Miele wanted almost 1k to fix it. I expect that the machine should
    last a lot longer. The reputation and quality for lasting 20 years is obviously false advertising and a bunch of baloney. You can’t get any deals on new machines and only Miele can fix them at absorbent prices. Very unhappy with their product and attitude

    First time Miele buyer and I'm really struggling between the US G7156 and G7366 (equivalent of your previous dishwasher). I'm wondering if you may be able to help me with the following questions:
    - Is the machine clean (appliance care) cycle useful, or do you think the same could be accomplished with a Sani or heavy duty wash?
    - Have you had a Miele dishwasher with their push button controls? If so, how did those buttons stand up to use over time?
    - I cook a lot and I think I would find the grates and filters cycle useful. Have you used this cycle before?
    - How often would you say Miele updates their software for dishwashers through their app?
    I doubt I would use Autodos much if I got the G7366 because the excessive plastic waste irks me.

    Both your Miele W1 and now this dishwasher developed faults not very long after you bought then. I own A W1 and it worries me that it will also break down long before the 20 years of use claim. They certainly aren't cheap to buy. Were they replaced free of charge by Miele?

    We purchased a Miele dishwasher G7566 SCVI Autodos last year. Arrived in a flimsy box with the computer motherboards exposed to the world. $2,500 for this freaking thing. Ferguson's showroom guy said it was the best. We installed it and finally used it. Perhaps the quietest dishwasher I've ever heard in my entire life. We've only run 1 cycle with no dishes in it because we wanted to make sure it actually worked. It's great that it has all those features, but I fear it's going to try and make me work too hard trying to figure everything out, just to wash the stupid dishes. Just because you can afford the best doesn't necessarily mean you should buy it. (Like people buying drawer microwaves that they put in their island. The first time you're in a hurry and microwave something... you have to wait for that drawer to open, set your food in it, wait for the drawer to close, then lean down and set the controls. When before, on a regular built-in microwave oven, open the door, put your food in it, shut it, set the time and go. With the drawer... you're still waiting for the drawer to close.) So, we've already decided that if this Miele D/W goes to crap, we're replacing it with a model that doesn't require a PHD to run it. Preparing meals and cleaning up afterwards shouldn't be so much work.

      It has! I selected the extra dry option from the settings menu. Still not great on plastic, but no dishwasher ever is. I also suggest leaving the setting on which opens the door automatically after the cycle.

  • @carpii
    @carpii Před rokem

    this is probably a dumb question, but how are your kitchen facias attached to the dishwasher?
    When I look at fully integrated dishwashers on the Miele site, they all show this plain white front (or optional steel facias they sell), but it doesnt show any screw holes or anything to attach the facia

    • @sabistar44
      @sabistar44  Před rokem

      Not at all! Miele supply metal rails which fix to the door, then slot into the dishwasher door. So you should be able to use the door that already is in your kitchen. I suggest checking the downloads on the website - there was quite a complex schematic of how to fit the cabinet door!

    Have you ever measured the noise level? I just got the G7467SVCIXXL. According to Miele It is rated at 41dB but I've measured it at 55dB and to me it's very noisy machine. Also the water pump produces a very deep and irritating humming noise when it's taking water in. I'm really considering returning the machine at this point. My old cheaper Siemens from 2008 was much quieter

    • @sabistar44
      @sabistar44  Před 2 lety

      I haven't measured. I agree, the drain pump is very noisy and really lets the machine down as during operation its really quiet.

    • @jwester7009
      @jwester7009 Před 2 lety

      @@sabistar44 I think mine is noisy in every part of the washing process. A lot of water splashing. But when the washing cycle is over and fan kicks in then I can actually measure around 41dB. Everything else about this machine is fantastic. So I'm in a bit of a conflict

    • @sabistar44
      @sabistar44  Před 2 lety +3

      I still use Autodos! It cleans the best - remember on the 'Auto' programme it dispenses the right amount of detergent for the load. One disk lasts me about 3 months or more, and its on many times a week. But it's all about convenience, I like not worrying about tablets etc.

    • @dpugelj123
      @dpugelj123 Před 2 lety

      @@sabistar44 thanks for the reply :) I always tough that the disc just spins a circle in one wash chicle thus dispensing 20g every wash (as they say at Miele one disc is for aground 20 washes. 400g / 20 = 20g) which was weird to me because you could just throw a tablet and go. I will need to change my old Bosch soon and don't know if I should spend the 200 eur more for the auto dos :/ any advice from you? Never put kitchen knives in a dishwasher, they will blunt. Hot soapy water and dry thoroughly. Use a magnetic knife holder or a dedicated knife block.

    • @sabistar44
      @sabistar44  Před 2 lety

    So your Miele broke down and you went for another one? Fool me once.
    They keep claiming their machines are bulletproof. What a load of bollocks. Mine died within 5 years and they tried to blame me for it. Like I’d somehow figure out how to burn out a controller circuit board.

    Dude... Knives don't go in the dishwasher; that's why they're rusting. We've had cheapo John Lewis own brand ones rust, to higher-end Global Ni - they just rust. Hand wash only.

  • @johnleo6201
    @johnleo6201 Před 2 lety +3

    Mine was a lemon. $2300 dishwasher lasted barely 5 years. The drain motor wouldn’t stop running.
    Replaced non return valve. Wasn’t the issue. Took out the drain pan. Bone dry. Replaced floater switch. Nope. Opened the controller board - bingo. The board burned out the plug (the 7 connector plug) connected to my drain motor. The motor refused to stop draining.
    Paid Miele $300 only for them to tell me it’s cost another $1200 to fix. Are you for reals??? They blamed me for user error. What the what??? How on earth do I burn out the controller board?
    Don’t buy Miele. They claim they have such great reliability but mine didn’t last 5 years. Trash. I threw out that $2300 paper weight and bought an LG.

    • @Jimbean212
      @Jimbean212 Před 2 lety

    • @johnleo6201
      @johnleo6201 Před 2 lety +2

      @@Jimbean212 Miele is definitely not worth it. All dishwasher brands will sometimes fail, I get it. But Miele claims theirs are built for 20 years and charges double the price. But there’s nothing special about them and their customer service does not stand by their claims. Talk is cheap. Their 1 year warranty (same as every other brand) shows how much they really stand by their product. Go with the cheaper brands. The expensive ones are meant to make your house look fancy in case you decide to sell it in the future.
