The skill on display here: reading the cue cards, riffing, actual acting, and nobody breaks. I like the current cast but watching this makes them look like amateurs.
Yes, Amy and Maya set the bar very high, with this skit. It just crackles along, naturally, with impressive comedic timing. SNL sketch comedy, elevated to high art.

the show is alot of improv, so its cue cards espeshally for guests and the celebrity hosts who might need it

Bronx Beat is one of the best skits of that SNL era....The ladies work so well together, it's scary.
Anyone who grew up in NYC knows these characters, played PERFECTLY buy these two brilliant performers.
This is one of the best comedic performances ever. 5+ minutes of non-stop high-level energy. They were so good.

I would watch this show in real life!!! When I’m having a not so great day, I always come back to these skits 😂. Amy’s character reminds me so much of my mom in law 😁, she’s not from the Bronx (actually Upstate NY), but the same attitude and everything! Love it!!!! 🥰

@Kanoa Koffee u crazy have u ever been to the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx.. These types were all over the Pelham parkway section and city island before the Hispanic invasion of the 90s.. U most find these types in long Island or Staten Island now..

These two are my absolute heroines of comedy, they are amazing together and I'm so happy for this skit (yeah I know I'm late to the party). Of course, Kristen Wiig is amazing as well but I think there ain't no other like Maya... I can only hope I'll grow to be this amazing someday!
