The problem is, if you just look up for a split second the wind catches the hood/beak of the motocross helmet. And it knucks your head back. It has very bad aerodynamics on the street.

Not gonna break ur neck. Obviously adventure/street bike helmets do better than straight up mx helmets though.
@@mikeadz1 The problem is when you start to tour with one of them. Doing 1-3k km with them is a huge annoyance. Your whole body is sore, your back and ass feels like jelly. To top it all up whenever you bob your head the wind tugs you.

right! sure the looks work but mx helmets are so much more comfortable in the heat. I felt the exact same way as adobo when i first put one on after wearing a full face for a while - it didnt really feel like it was hugging my face like the full face. But after you get used to it you put on the full face and it feels like its tryna squish your face up 😂. also something people dont talk abt is the sound, a full face gives a much more muted sound in the helmet whereas with an mx lid you can hear a lot more of the bike and the surroundings
Out of all your bikes, got to ride the MT07 with that look It could work on the electric bike too, there's a whole different breed of helmets for electric bikes and scooters

I use goggles all the time when I'm on my electric unicycle helps keep the wind and rain and bugs out of my eyes ....commuting though Seattle on an euc I deal with a lot of those and im never going fast enough for full motorcycle helmets to be comfortable or cool down enough in the summer

If I have it in high position the motocross helmet just gets better air flow and feels “flowy” at the end of the day I’m better off with full face and glasses on. I’ll pop the visor with some shades on and be just fine. At this point I have it for back up and if I ever go off road. Nice topic to touch on. Moto helmet on the street is fine for Dual sports and sumos, but I don’t like wearing one on a street bike, Aside from that, another really nice high-quality goggle that has similar features and a different look is the “Infinity goggles” made by Havoc. Customizable and comfortable!
Goggles on the street are great during hotter days on the street since they allow the most airflow through the helmet, while also providing good protection to the face
I agree. Moto-cross helmets are not for higger speeds. Lift your head or look up and that visor can catch and whip your head around. Plus many buffet at medium high speeds anyway. They are lighter than most other types of helmets, so it can be more comfortable if you are just messing around in the surface streets. But you should just get a dual sport helmet if you want the look and slightly better performance.
Dirtbike helmet + goggles FTW! More airflow to face. If you have goggles like this you can easily carry clears and darks so you dont get caught lackin at night.
i prefer mx helmet with goggles. Dont have to worry about fog, easy to put a gator on for cold days, much more air for the heat, easy to carry a tinted and clear set of goggles for day to night transition, more room for earbuds, and if the goggle lenses get damaged its much cheaper to replace. I know all of those could be accomplished with an expensive street helmet but i get more safety for cheaper. Only thing is you gotta take off the visor.
Clean, the motocross/ half face and goggles thing, is basically about field of view , lots of folk panic when under pressure and they can only see through a letterbox sized gap Anything else is purely style and comfort related , I have rode for years survived two crashes and use a half face with goggles because you’re less likely to get into an accident or be blindsided when you can see.
Do the street light colors get affected by the color , I had some cool vintage orange colored sunglasses and very quickly found out I couldn't see when lights changed to red ect .?
Contrast enhancing lenses comes down to personal preference at the end of the day. Most companies offer this tech for snowboarding and Motocross. I prefer Smith at the end of the day, contrast is bizarre in my opinion
On superbike sports category, yes, it looks stupid, plus it wouldn't do justice when u speeding at reaching to 200km++, but on adventure or supermoto, baked, its looks really on point.
It's actually quite dangerous because these helmets are made for riding off road, so they are very long. But if you fall and the helmet gets caught somewhere it might even rip your head off. The safest option are round helmets.
I ride a low displacement dual sport. Dual sport is the only way I ride with a motocross helmet on the street. If I were to buy a road bike, id get a new helmet
Here in italy most of the young motorcyclists wear a motorcross look on streets, i would say because the majority ride cross, motard, enduro bikes. Anyway, some time when i took my supermotard bike out i wear this ultracrisp look.😂
I’m a moto guy, and personally I wouldn’t trust a moto helmet on the street. I raced woods a few times and one time I hit my head not too hard on a rock but it definitely gave me a concussion, I don’t want to imagine going down at higher speeds on the road would do.
i get it from the peak point, ie the peak will twist your head, but from the safety of the eps im not sure, ie I have a shoei VFX wr and an x spirit 3 and they both have the same liner - so why would the mx helmet perform worse? also at least the peak on my wr has plastic screws which im assuming snap at higher forces, kinda like how arais pieces do but thats just speculating. pro sumo racers run both mx and street lids on tarmac so i think its a really split topic

As someone who races motocross, I find it convenient to be able to switch back and forth with one helmet.
Goggles are better for venting than stuffy helmets with face guards.

I used to rock my dirt bike gear on my rebel 250 for about 6 months till I got my ninja 600 I finally got some good gear
you can drill some holes in that lens and get yourself amazing cyberpunk shades
