Good video brochacho. By day 5 I couldn't tell if the anticipation was building more for the ice retention or to see your next outfit 😂 You're a spiffy dresser!
Great video man, I read many misleading reviews on this ice chest. Thanks for doing the ice retention challenge. It helps me gauge the quality of this cooler.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I just bought one of those for my wife and I. We like to relax on our patio and we wanted a upgrade our cooler without spending too much money. I think this will fit our needs. Thanks for sharing your video! GOD BLESS!
I just bought the IMX 24. I'm taking it up on the Rubicon trail this week, but I'd like to do an ice challenge when I get back. There is precious little actual review info out there on them. Thanks for putting out this good info!
Just bought it at ACE. Liked both your reviews, and the cooler before going to see it against the Yeti Tundra 65 earlier today. Bought the Igloo, $150 less, a little bigger, cooler look, not as heavy duty, not as plain looking, slightly cheaper hardware, cup holders. Basically a list of differences both pro and con. Will be using it quite a bit in coming months, hope it's great!
I have the 24 quart and it holds up to my son's Yeti coolers. It looks durable and is durable. You cant beat the price for the igloo compared to the Yeti. Best purchase made on a cooler.
Dang, that's really good for not pretreating the cooler. I was on the fence about this cooler until I saw your video. I think I'll save myself a few hundred bucks and pick one up. Thanks!
They're $180 right now at Academy. I just got the IMX 24 the other day for $80, worth every penny. Considering getting the IMX 70 just to have it, even though I don't really need it.
This might be the best cooler for the price in the 70 qt category and at 6 day retention that's just great imo! I really like the Pelican too, but it's an extra $150.. you can get yourself some good fishing gear with that extra cash..
Nice job on the video. I just received one and it's a beast. Extremely well built. The seal is in fact air tight as I had to remove the drain cap to allow air in. I couldn't open the lid after unpacking otherwise.
can you do a leek test once ice has melted to see if the cooler is bounced or sloshed around with the ice water if there is any leakage that happens around any part of the top or back etc
that looks good. but I think a better test would be too fill a cooler with the standard amount ice and then put other items in it (food, beverages) and then see how long before the ice melts). Even a disposable large styrofoam filled entirely with only ice, will last many hours before it would start to melt, if you just let it sit there and didn't open/close it many times like normally would when using it.
I ended up getting this cooler after watching your video last year. Pretty disappointed so far though. Tested it out recently, and the IMX 70 only retained 30 lbs of ice for about 4 1/2 days: Mon afternoon-Wednesday night inside house 72F, then Wednesday night-Friday afternoon inside garage 85F in the shade. On Friday, it was all water (freezing cold though). Oh well.
Tough to beat this cooler for $200. Our biggest thing with this cooler, would be to store perishable items that would spoil while on a long weekend camping trip.
Good vid.. 4 years later are you still liking this cooler? Had any issues with it? Anything break on it? How about a drip test, any water leaking out of the drain, and does water leak out of the lid if the cooler is tilted?
Still works perfect. The sun has definitely beat on it but still no cracks. Handles broke at one point, igloo sent me new ones free. It’s just a large cooler and takes up a lot of room. Really the only downside. The price has gone up a good bit from where it was, I would look at a roto molded model. The price difference isn’t nearly what it was then.
What is "real usage" to you? That is a very subjective term. By having a standard of one-look a day then you can judge the value of the cooler against others that have had a similar test.
Hell yeah I used mine for work the other day but I don’t think I had enough ice in it because it was all melted at the end of the day nice sturdy chest though
Really unrealistic test. In reality you would be opening the cooler multiple times a day, and it wouldn't be totally full of ice, it would be like 1/2 drinks 1/2 ice. Would definitely effect ice retention.
Why don't you people do real world test? instead of filling the entire damn thing up with ice, pack it like you would be going on a trip. Take food out at intervals as you would normally eat it. Then we'd get a real world test. These tests are stupid.
There are too many variables to consider if you were to test it like that. This way all coolers are test this way so the results are as consistent as possible. They are environmental factors to consider as well, but I felt my test was worst case scenario because of it being in the back of truck baking all day in the sun.
@@kevinellsworth9318 im assuming you are talking about the bmx series cooler. I have no idea, thats why i bought a imx series the hinge is integrated in the cooler.

Very underrated video, deserves more attention!!! Great content. 👍🏻💯🙌🏻
We bought one and are liking it a lot! Taking it camping in Colorado this August. Thanks! :)
Thank you for reviewing this cooler! Much appreciated.

@Clay Pylant it worked great for me on my trip. I haven't used it much since, but for what it was supposed to do, I am completely satisfied.
Great Review. Thank you for taking the time to do this

Very impressive! I've been looking at getting this cooler, I think I'm sold.
Thank you, was just going to buy one. 5 days of good ice in the mountains works for me so based on your test that is a done deal for me...😉
Yeah make sure you pre chill it and put in everything already cold and fill it completely with ice. it makes a big difference.
Thanks for the video! Was deciding between this IMX or the BMX from Igloo but this chose for me!

Just bought one. Going to give it a go in the North Carolina Summer
Great review 👏
Muchas gracias apa.
I really don’t care for coolers, I‘m just here because of your hilarious comment on another video.
But I still loved the video!
Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome video
Very helpful. Thanks!

that sold me ive watched 3 other tests. you could get 4 of these for the price of a yeti
Thank You
Keeeeeep rolling 🚗
"We had a cool front come through... the bed's only 93 today." Living in the mountains in Montana, my brain is having trouble processing that. lol
Austin Bousquet lol. How do you get internet in the mountains of Montana?

Curious how igloo customer support is, I’d like to drop my yeti for one of these but it’s hard to beat yeti CS

That’s disappointing for a 200$ cooler? What’s better at this price?

cj my wife would be pissed without cream in her morning tea. Thinking the same thing.
Such a salesman
Legit
Those latches would drive me crazy when you try to close it.
Ok buddy👌🏽

Great video thanks! Does it leak?
Not sure it’s always in the back of my truck.
Hey guys! this is me on day 4 sending out a comment hello
i bet if you pre cooled it, that ice would last 7 days. good review!
bryman31 yeah I just wanted worse case.
Opening it only 1 time each day. Real usage is what I'm curious seeing.
all ice retention test are done this way
What is "real usage" to you? That is a very subjective term. By having a standard of one-look a day then you can judge the value of the cooler against others that have had a similar test.
Ace has these on sale for $179.99 for 4th of July
153 right from the igloo sight with honey10 code
Should put warm drinks in it then top it off with ice and see how long it last. That would be normal usage.
I'm interested to know how the cable handle attachments hold up to salt water
they are coated in rubber so idk if the salt water would even get to the steel. Im sure you could replace them if needed.
@@BrianBourgeois- thanks.
I bought one and I love it so far
Shot Townsend still?
Does anyone else notice he has the same clothes on every day
Does it have a rubber seal Around the lid?
Roland Kovalenoks yes
are you sure its not the same day? or you just never change?
I have a lot of the same clothes for work.
I was worried that you might say " ok is day 5 and the Igloo is been stolen"
Hey guys
I saved money on my car insurance
Day 6 .1. latch was not hooked.
I probably opened it before the video to look
I like the look of it, although eventually bought yeti
Mine just arrived do you still like it?
XxSlySlinger v1 yeah. Still in the back of the truck. Used it for the fourth held ice all weekend.
Hell yeah I used mine for work the other day but I don’t think I had enough ice in it because it was all melted at the end of the day nice sturdy chest though
XxSlySlinger v1 yeah the air will cause your ice to melt. Only downside to a big cooler, has to be full to hold ice and that requires a lot of ice
Hola

all coolers are tested this way to eliminate variables. the only variables are ambient conditions.

Broke the hinges on my igloo box 25 , where can I get new ones

Brian Bourgeois is the Bmx models too new to get parts, everything can break
